Floating hearts and beautiful butterfly

Hi everyone!  In case anyone had wondered if I had disappeared, I am just back from a two week holiday to Thailand.  Glad to see my scheduled posts worked while I was away.  We'v had a rubbish return though - first off we went to pick up our car from the long stay car park at the airport and found that the suspension had broken so we had to wait around for hours for a tow truck.  We didn't get home until 3am!  And then we went to pick up the dogs from the kennels in the morning and our poor Poppy has been unwell - really listless and not eating so I'm very worried about her.  And then to top it all off, went through our mail and found that someone had cloned my credit card and went on a £3k spending spree!  Our punishment for having a fantastic holiday!

But anyway, back to my card for today!  Bit of a soppy title for this post, but it's exactly how I'm describing my card using some of those gorgeous Docrafts goodies!  See what you think...

The Docraft goodies I used were:

Blue Daisy paper collection (free download here)
Xcut Heart Nesting Dies set
Xcut Falling Hearts embossing folder
Xcut Butterflies A5 die set,
Xcut Kushgrip Craft Knife
Papermania Monochrome Adhesive Stones

I usually add a sentiment to my cards but I didn't think I'd need one for this card as it could be used for many different occasions.  Perhaps I'll stick on a sentiment on it when I decide to use it!  I think I'm going to give this one either to my mum or my mother-in-law.

Okay, I gotta go now.  If you like any of the goodies, you can find a Docraft stockist here.  I'll be back tomorrow with my Alicia Bel and La-La Land Crafts DT posts - see you then!

Card for an amazing guy

Here is my first design team card for Docrafts which some of you may have already seen if you're a Docrafts Club Member and get access to stuff before everybody else...

Not relying on stamped images is pretty hard - it's usually the main focus to work around so having to create a different type of focal point was pretty hard for me!  Once I had come up with an idea though it was quite easy to put together.  I think this card would be great for a male birthday card or even a congratulations for something card! What is for certain though is that I want to give this to my nephew!

Here are the Docraft goodies I used:

Stars A6 3D Embossing Folder
Kraft Pocket Tags
Kraft Gift Tags & Jute
Sentiment Collection download (free, get it here!)
Precision Scissors
Solid Black Adhesive Stones set

You can find Docraft stockists over at the website here.  I hope you like my card as much as I do!  I'm always pleased when I can make a male card as they are usually so hard to do!  Thanks for visiting and I'll see you again soon!

Heart shaped easel card

Just popping in to let you know that there are some freebie printables papers on our docrafts Facebook page.  As soon as I saw them I knew that I wanted to create a heart shaped card and this is how it turned out...

As you can see, I created an easel card with the papers and added some flowers and butterfly elements.  I finished it off with a few iridescent gems dotted around for some added interest.  I love how this turned out so I'm going to give this to my Mother-In-Law for her birthday.  The docrafts goodies I used were:

Xcut Petal Posy dies
Xcut Floral Frame dies
Xcut Nesting Heart dies
Xcut Nesting Circle dies
Xcut Butterflies die set
Papermania Transparent Adhesive Stones

That's it from me today - thanks for visiting and I'll see you again soon!

Docrafts Design Team blog hop!

Hi everyone!  As I announced on this post here, I'm now on the Docrafts design team and we decided to have a little blog hop to introduce the team and show you our "typical" styles.  As you'll know, my style is CAS with a touch of cute!  But I'm trying to move away from too much cute as it's not everyone's cup of tea.  My husband is especially not a fan of cute so I decided to take the opportunity to make his Valentine's Day card...

A bit soppy, but not too soppy.  He should like it, but then again he rarely likes my cards so he'll just have to suck it up, lol!  Here's a list of the Docrafts goodies I used:

Slimline Alphabet die
Quilting Embossing Folder
Heart Nesting dies
Papermania Monochrome Buttons
Papers from the Valentines Collection (free download here)

You can find Docraft stockists over at the website here.  So if you're on the hop, you should have come from Katie Lamb and you now need to hop off to Sarah Douglas.

I'll be back tomorrow with a Lili of the Valley sneak peek so see you then!

I'm a Docrafts designer!

I hinted earlier this year that I had some new things in the pipeline and one of them is that I'm now a Docrafts designer!  For those of you who are not familiar with them, they are a UK manufacturer and they sell practically anything that'll help you craft!  From dies, to glue, to ribbons, equipment for making cards, sewing - everything crafty!!  I was pleased to be asked to join the team as I want to move away from just colouring images and I think they will help me stretch my creative skills.

You can check out the new team over at the website here and in the meantime, here's a little sneak peek of one of my makes for them...

It's a very talented team and I'm already enjoying working with them!  I'm off to pilates now (groan...), but I'll be back on Friday with my Alicia Bel and La-La Land Crafts DT posts - see you then!

To doodle or not to doodle?

This week's inspiration over at La-La Land Crafts is "oodles of doodles" - I rarely doodle as I like symmetry and neatness too much!  Still, I had a go and ended up with this...

Yeah, I know I didn't get my dashes evenly sized nor in perfectly lines!  It's driving me nuts looking at it, lol!!  But I love the stamp which is the very sweet Christmas Bell Marci.  I also used the Snowflake Banner die (I used DCWV glitter cardstock with it)Christmas Hill Border die die and the fishtail banner die from the Stitched Elements die set.  The papers are by DoCrafts (I totally love these papers!).

Copics used:
Face: E000, E00, E21, R20
Hair: C03, C05, C09
Outfit: R00, R02, R05, R08, C03, C05, C09
Bell: Y21, YR23, YR27, B000, B01, B02

You can see the rest of the gorgeous design team inspiration over at the blog here.  I'll be back this weekend with my SugarPea Designs and Lili of the Valley DT posts.  TTFN!

Beautiful butterflies

It's La-La Land Crafts inspiration time!  Well, every day it's inspiration time over at the La-La Land Crafts blog and this week we had the theme of making our own embellishments.  I thought I would showcase one of the gorgeous butterflies from the Butterfly Set 1 die on a wedding card...

I used shimmer cardstock for the butterfly and made the flowers with a rolled flower die.  La-La Land Crafts has three lovely rolled flowers dies in large and small and medium sizes.  I used papers from the Eau de Nil 6" x 6" paper pad and Eau de Nil Self Adhesive Crochet Border.  The sentiment is from the Lili of the Valley Simply Sophisticated set.

Check out more gorgeous inspiration over at the blog here.  I will be back on the weekend with my Lili of the Valley DT posts.  ttfn!

An anniversary card

Hello everyone!  Very quickly popping in to show you an anniversary card I made using goodies from the docrafts Eau De Nil collection -

Such an elegant collection and this will be perfect for my in-laws.  I used the Eau de Nil 6" x 6" paper pad and Eau de Nil Pin Wheels.  For the border, I used two sides of a square lace sheet from the Eau de Nil Lace Papers.  The sentiment is from the Lili of the Valley Simply Sophisticated set.

I'll be back tomorrow with my Whimsie Doodle DT post - ttfn!

For a special lady

Hi everyone!  I hope you are all enjoying the long Bank Holiday weekend.  Shame the weather is so rubbish down here in the south east of England but at least I'm not at work!

Today I have a grown up card to share with you...

Yes, very unlike my usual cute style!  And it only took me 15 minutes to make as I used goodies from the docrafts Eau De Nil collection - here's what I used...

Now I just need to decide which special lady is going to receive this!  I'm off now to enjoy the rest of my time off - ttfn!
