Make It Monday sponsored by Platypus Creek Stamping & Craft

Well, I can honestly say that this is BRILLIANT Monday - not is it a new linky party over at Make It Monday but it's also a public bank holiday!  I just love free holidays!  And this is my DT make for it...

This week we are being sponsored by Platypus Creek Stamping and Crafts and I created a card with their Mushroom House that I watercoloured with my Aqua ProMarkers and matched the image up with papers from Cosmo Cricket's Earth Love - well it had mushrooms on it so I couldn't really NOT use it, could I?!

The lucky winner from this week will win their "Pretty Things" Stamp set by Sunshine Design...

Gorgeous, huh?!  And don't forget you can increase your chances of winning simply by commenting on other entrant's posts and mentioning you saw it on Make It Monday

Thanks for visiting me!

To distress or not to distress?

Hi everyone!  A very quick one from me tonight to post the card I made for this week's Michelle Perkett Studio's challenge to use die cuts.  I had to rush this card because I couldn't decide if I wanted to do one of my clean cut bright cards or to practice one of my less used techniques of vintage style.  I decided to be brave and do a vintage card but it took me aaages because it's just not my natural style!  Anyway, here it is....

I think the text needs to be bigger!  Hey ho.  I used the Put On Your Party Dress digi by MPS and the papers are from a Prima design pad that I won from The Scrapbook Garden's April giveaway - lucky me!  They have a new blog candy giveaway for May/June - you can enter it here so give it a chance!

I used the Sweet Sketch Wednesday sketch and I am also entering it into the following challenges:

Paper/cardstock: Bazzill bling cardstock, Prima Magnolia paper pad
Stamps: MPS Put On Your Party Dress digi
Mediums: Aqua ProMarkers, Distress Inks in Antique Linen
Accents: Stampin Up ribbon (ordered from Nic, The Sticky Elf, here), Prima Magnolia flowers, 8mm flat backed pearls (from Quixotic Paperie here)
Tools: Nestabilities dies, Magnolia border and leaf dies (I get mine from Bunny Zoe's Crafts here), Tim Holtz Distressing Tool

Friendship over at By LoRi Designs challenge blog!

My regulars will know that I make a lot of cards to send to my friends so this week's challenge over at By LoRi Designs challenge blog is 'friendship' - easy peasy, lemon squeezy!  And here is my take on the challenge...

You know I love my dogs but I also love cats but Steve (the awkward b*gger) is allergic to them - shame, I'd love 3 or 4 of them!  Anyway, I'm rambling.  These are BLD Lollipop digis simply called 'dog' and 'cat' (available here) - well, it does what it says on the can!!  Instead of using my Copics that I normally use with my BLD images, I decided to watercolour them with my Aqua ProMarkers - I really liked how they came out!

Now just need to decide which friend to send this to!  You can see all the other gorgeous DT take on this challenge here - enjoy!

I used the sketch over at the Sweet Stop Sketch ...

Paper/cardstock: Bazzill cardstock, DCWV Pet Stack
Stamps: BLD Lollipop 'dog' and 'cat' (available here), Ladybug Crafts Ink sentiment from the Phoebe and Olivia set

White and one other colour over at A Spoonful of Sugar!

(Please scroll down for my Totally Ladybug Tuesday DT post)

It's time for a new challenge over at A Spoonful of Sugar and this week we are challenging you to 'white and one other colour' - yep, you read that right, not black and white and one other colour!  I was a bit scared when I saw this myself but you are allowed to use colours on skin, shoes, etc - as long as the main colours are white and one other colour!  Here is my take on it...

Aren't they the cutest?!  These are from the Larakins range of The Emerald Faerie Garden called 'Ashton & Boo' - I love them!  I got mine in digi form (here) but you can buy them in stamp form too. And how about the paper?  This is a digi one I recently got from Cupcake Cards & Crafts called 'shabby stripes' - it comes in 16 colours and only costs £2.50, such great value!  Now, I love my branded DPs and no doubt will continue buying them, but I find these digi paperss are very useful basics!

I am entering this into Emerald Faerie's first ever challenge for anything goes and also the following challenges:

That's it from me today - have a great week!

Have the happiest of days

Yay, it's Friday so that means it's a happy day!  And my card today is a cheery, fresh card - let's hope the weather in the UK follows suit!!  I got my inspiration from the gorgeous fresh cards by Vicky...

I made this card for this week's Pollycraft challenge for Easter and this month's Cupcake Craftroom challenge for fresh and new.  I used the digis papers from the Cupcake Cards & Craft Sweet Ginghams and matching co-ordinating solid papers (you can buy them here).  I coloured in those super sweet ducks (I think it was a freebie) from Pollycrafts with my Aqua ProMarkers and followed the sketch over at I ProMarkers

I's also like to enter my card into C.R.A.F.T. challenge for Easter.

Easter celebration over at A Spoonful of Sugar!

(Please scroll down for my Totally Ladybug Tuesday DT card)

Over at A Spoonful of Sugar we are celebrating with an Easter theme!  For my DT card, I used the super sweet Meljens Designs' Hello Bunny String - and it's super free to download here!  Here is what I did with it...

A different style for me!  I am always inspired by Paula of Flowers and Flutterby's - she has such a natural, original style.  When I saw this card here I just had the urge to do some doodling and I knew a Meljen digi would work well with it!  I think I need a bit more practice, but it was fun to do and I'm pleased the way it has turned out.  As you can see, I kept it to a CAS style to showcase the image and simply used Aquamarkers, the doodling and my trusty opaque white Viva Decor gloss pen to create teeny tiny pearls around the rabbit. I hope Paula approves!

You can see the other DT gorgeous makes here - go take a look, you won't be disappointed!

I am entering my card into Meljen Design's challenge to use punches, Karen's Doodles for Easter and Make it Monday where you can just share your creations!

Happy Saturday everybody!  Today Totally Gorjuss is back for 2011 and our first challenge is a sketch!  This week we are sponsored by Joanna Sheen - I love this shop for their free postage and packing worldwide and ultra fast service - my kinda service!  So here is my take on the sketch...

I've been practicising my watercolouring and this time I used my Aqua ProMarkers that I won on another challenge.  They are really easy to use and I love the vibrancy of the colours!  I cut out the leaves from the paper and mounted them on foam pads to give it a little more interest.

Don't forget to visit the Totally Gorjuss challenge blog to see the other totally gorjuss DT inspiration!

I am also entering this card into the following challenges:

Paper/cardstock: Bazzill white cardstock, Bazzill blue Bling cardstock, Bo Bunny Persuasion paper
Stamps: Sugar Nellie I give you my heart stamp, CC Designs sentiment (I think!)
