Merry Monday... Black/Gold/Silver Card

Happy Tuesday,

Today's card was created for this week's Merry Monday Challenge.

My card:

I began with a Whisper White card base.  I then embossed another piece of white card stock using the Couture Creations Baubles embossing folder.  The gold and silver ornaments were embossed with the SU! Lacy Brocade folder, then die-cut using circle spellbinders.  The sentiment is from Inspired by Stamping Elegant Christmas Sentiments, and was stamped in Basic Black ink.  A trio of coordinating bows on the ornaments finish off the details.

I'm also linking up to Inspired by Stamping - August Customer Gallery.

Merry Monday #87

Hi Everyone,

Just popping in quickly to share a card I made for this week's Merry Monday Challenge.  We were asked to create a card with a mitten(s).

My card:

For my card, I wanted to create a snowy scene, keeping it soft and on the clean side.  I began with Whisper White card stock, and a second layer of the same.  The branch was die-cut with the Memory Box Woodland Branch, and the tree trunk was hand drawn.  I printed the mittens on X-Press It Blended Card and colored them with Copic markers.  I thought it would be fun to hang the mittens from one of the branches, so with some black floss, I looped it over and adhered it to the mittens.  Using Memento Summer Sky ink, I created snowy slopes.  To complete the winter scene, I sprinkled some fuzzy flock on the branches and on the ground.

Here is a close-up:

The sentiment is from Inspired by Stamping Elegant Christmas Sentiments, and was stamped in Memento Tuxedo ink.

I am also adding my card to the following challenges:

Inspired by Stamping - December Customer Gallery Contest
CAS On Sunday  - Christmas!
Simon Says... - Let it Snow
CAS-ual Fridays - Let it Snow

Merry Monday #85

Happy Tuesday,

I'm popping in very quickly to share a card for this week's Merry Monday #85.  We were asked to create a card using all white or ivory, and brown or kraft for the sentiment and accents.

My card:

I created a CAS card, which is always one of my favorite styles.  The card base is Very Vanilla, followed with another layer of the same card stock and embossed with the Holly embossing folder.
I created a poinsettia with the Layered Poinsettia Spellbinders, and simply added 4 tiny rhinestones in the middle.  The sentiment is from Fiskars' Holiday Frolic, and was stamped in VersaFine Vintage Sepia.

I'm also linking at CAS on Sunday and Rudolph Days Challenge.

Merry Monday #84

Hi Everyone!

I am on a roll with Christmas cards! WOO HOO! I couldn't resist not playing this week over at Merry Monday.  We were asked to use a tree and bling.  Love the combo.

My card:

The base of the card is Real Red and then a layer of Whisper White.  I used Penny Black Snow Dust stamp for the focal point of my card, and stamped it with a new ink I purchased from VersaFine called Vintage Sepia.  In person, it's a very pretty gold color.  I double matted the image using more Real Red and Gold card stock.  It looked a bit plain, so I wrapped some gold ribbon around the top and bottom edges.  The sentiment is from Inspired by Stamping Elegant Christmas Sentiments, and was stamped in Vintage Sepia ink.  The final details are some red and silver rhinestones, added on the trees.

Merry Monday #83

Happy Monday!

It's another week over at Merry Monday!  We were asked to use Stripes, Red, Chocolate with Stars or Hearts.

My card:

My card is bright and fun, just right for a kiddo!  I used the SU! Post Card for my card (again!).  I can't seem to put it away...I just love this stamp because it's so versatile.  The card base is Whisper White and the next layer is Cherry Cobbler, embossing with the Square Lattice embossing folder.  The Post Card was matted with Chocolate Chip card stock.  I used the owl punch from SU! and dressed him up with some striped patterned paper, a Santa hat and a tiny red heart.  The die-cut branch was created with the Memory Box Woodland Branch.  The sentiment is from Inkadinkado Warm Holiday Wishes, and was stamped in Cherry Cobbler ink, as well as the North Pole stamp.

Merry Monday #82 & TPE224

Hi Everyone,

Happy Tuesday!  Today's card was created for this week's The Pink Elephant card challenge.

The colors I chose are this week's Merry Monday color combo.

My card:

I began with Whisper White card base, followed by Real Red and patterned paper from MME.  The sweet snowman is from the SU! Snow Much Fun set, and I colored him with Copic markers.  I matted both the image and patterned paper panel with Aqua card stock.  I then stamped the sentiment on a scrap of Whisper White card stock and adhered it to the cardfront overlapping the image panel and the patterned paper. Two mini pom-poms and four red pearls finished off the card.

Merry Monday #79

Happy Tuesday Everyone!

We are half way done with October...hard to believe!  Last night, I was able to create a card for this week's Merry Monday Challenge.  We were asked to use Snowflakes, Blue, White and Silver/Grey.

My card:

I started out with Whisper White card stock, combined with pretty paper from Graphic 45 Nutcracker Sweet Collection.  Aside from being one of the colors for this challenge, it also has snowflakes (too hard to see from the picture).  I took some blue card stock and added some texture with the Petals-a-Plenty embossing folder.  I die-cut a layer of silver glitter card stock with the SU! Snow Flurry Die.  A blue rhinestone was adhered in the middle to give it more shine.  The sentiment is from Just Rite Noel Christmas Ornaments Stamp Set and was stamped in Memento Tuxedo Black ink.

Merry Monday #77

Hi Everyone!

I found some time today to put together a card for this week's Merry Monday Challenge.  We were asked to use Red, Pink, Light Green, Dark Green and White.

 My card:

I made a clean and simple card (especially when you are putting it together during your lunch hour!).  Using the colors above, I used  the 1 inch, 3/4 inch, 1/2  inch circle punches to create a festive Christmas wreath.  My card base is Whisper White, with another layer of white cardstock.  I adhered the circles to form a wreath, and added a bow using some Real Red ribbon.  I stamped the sentiment from SU! Four the Holidays in Basic Black ink.  For the final touch, I randomly added rhinestones around it.

In addition to this card challenge, I am linking to Link Up Tuesday.
Thanks for visiting me today!

Merry Monday #74

Happy Thursday!

I have a card to share for this week's Merry Monday.  We were asked to use the colours Green and White with woodgrain.

My card;

I began my card with a Whisper White card stock base.  I then added another layer of Whisper White, embossed with the Woodgrain folder and a strip of Lucky Limeade card stock.  I scored the left hand side with my Scor Buddy for a bit of subtle interest.  I stamped the gorgeous chickadee from SU! Beautiful Season on X-Press It Blending Paper with Memento Tuxedo black ink, and colored it with Copic markers and color pencils.  The circles were die-cut from white and brown card stock using the Classic Circle Spellbinders.  I positioned the image with foam tape, then took some Baker's Twine Early Espresso and tucked it behind the card stock to assimilate it"s hanging from the bow.  The sentiment is from Just Rite's Noel Christmas Ornaments, and was stamped Memento Tuxedo Black.

I've also entered this card over at Paper Issues: Put Some Twine On It! and 'X' Marks the Sport: The Twinery Challenge.

Merry Monday #73

Hello everyone,

I have a card to share for this week's Merry Monday.  We were asked to create a Christmas card using Red, Green and Kraft, with a choice of Ribbon, Twine or Burlap.  I incorporated both Ribbon and Burlap.

My card:

I began with Crumb Cake, followed by Real Red and Authentique Collection: Joyous patterned paper.  The ovals were die-cut from Whisper White and Real Red card stock using the classic oval spellbinders.  I stamped the sentiment from SU! Snow Swirled in Tuxedo Black ink, and added some curls using SU! Priceless Stamp Set.  I then took some burlap, die-cut it with the largest die using the Labels 18 and adhered it behind the sentiment.  A strip of red taffeta ribbon was added on the right hand side of the card, along with a double bow.  To add balance to the card, I used Spellbinders Shapabilities Layered Poinsettia die to create a small poinsettia.

I'm linking up at Link Up Tuesday.

Merry Monday July Challenge

Hello Everyone,

It's a Month Long-Anything Goes Christmas Challenge over at Merry Monday

My card:

I decided to create a vintage Christmas card, and this pretty paper from Webster's Pages was exactly what I had in mind.  The base of the card is Whisper White, followed by Cherry Cobler cardstock.  The dress form is the focal point of my card.  I dressed her up with green tulle and Cherry Cobler satin ribbon around the waist.  I also adhered 2 small pearls.  The sentiment is from Inspired by Stamping Elegant Christmas Sentiments Stamp Set.

Merry Monday #68

Happy Sunday!

Hope everyone is having a nice weekend.  I wanted to post my card for this week's Merry Monday Challenge, before it closes!

My card:

I created another card using the sponging technique.  I used Baja Breeze to create the wintery scence.  This week, my focus was on a masculine Christmas card, which are not easy to make (at least for me).  The base of the card is Whisper White followed by Chocolate Chip cardstock.  I combined pretty paper from Parisian Breeze and Festival of Prints DSP.    The image is from SU! Dasher (retired).  The trees are from Lovely as a Tree and the sentiment is from Four the Holidays.

Merry Monday #64

Happy Saturday!

I'm quickly popping in to share a card I created for this week's Merry Monday #64.  I love this week's sketch:

My card:

I wanted to do something different - out of my comfort zone - I wanted to create a snowy Christmas picture using the masking and sponging technique.  This is my very first attemept, and I'm really happy how my card turned out.  The base of the card is Whisper White, then I used the patterned paper from SU! Pocketful of Posies.  The beautiful tree is from SU! Lovely as a Tree Stamp Set.  I used torn paper to mask the bottom of the card.  I then sponged the top portion and bottom using Baja Breeze ink.  I stamped the images using Memento Tuxedo Black ink.  The trees that are on the edges, I stamped it two more times, without re-inking to make them appear more distant.  The seniment is from SU! For the Holidays.

Thanks for so much for stopping by,

Merry Monday #62

Hello my friends,

I'm here to share a card for this week's Merry Monday #62.  Lesley has an awesome sketch for us:

My card:

The base of the card is Whisper White, followed by Cherry Cobbler cardstock.  The white cardstock was embossed with Petal-a-Plenty Embossing Folder.  I was tempted to leave it with no texture, but at the last minute, I changed my mind - I love the way it looks!  The pretty patterned paper was a scrap from a retired paper stack from SU.  It was the perfect size that matched the sketch.  I then matted the pretty paper with Baja Breeze cardstock.  The image is from SU! Greeting Card Kids, and was colored with copic markers.  Not sure if you can see it, but I added a tiny rhinestone to the small Christmas tree.  All Christmas trees need something shiny on top, don't they?  The sentiment is from a retired stamp set from SU! Four the Seasons.  I totally forgot I had this stamp set!

Thank you so much for stopping by and leaving a comment... I love to read them!

Merry Monday #61

Happy Friday Everyone,

I'm here to share a card I created for this week's Merry Monday Challenge #61.  I have to admit, this week's sketch was a challenge for me, but I'm game!

This is what I came up with:

I didn't have any Christmas stamps that would work well with the sketch, so I decided to do something else - how about the elves legs!  So right after dinner last Tuesday, I went to work.  I hand drew the elves shoes and embossed with Square Lattice Folder.  It gave them the perfect texture.  The red/white cardstock is from SU! Holly Berry Bouquet DSP (retired).  This cardstock made the elves legs come to life!  The sentiment is from SU! Blessed Season. Lastly, I added 3 rhinestones to the top right hand corner and on the tips of the shoes.  I really like the way it came out!  This will definitely be one of my Christmas card templates for this year - a fun card to make!

Thank you so much for stopping by,

Merry Monday #57

Happy Saturday!

Today I am sharing a card I made for this week's Merry Monday #57.  Lesley has created this sketch for us:

My card:

For my Christmas card this week, I went with a non-traditional color, pink, and combined it with silver.  The base is Whisper White.  The patterned papers are from a retired paper pack from SU!, but I don't know the name of it.  A piece of  Blushing Bride cardstock was embossed with the Lacy Brocade Embossing Folder.  The image is from SU! Contempo Christmas and the sentiment is from Just Rite's Noel Christmas Ornaments Stamp Set.  Lastly, I added some pearls to the tree and a pink rhinestone as a tree topper.
