Floral pale yellow ombre – or is it prize rosettes…?

 

 

For this pastel/light yellow ombre I used the following colors goring from thumb to pinkie: China Glaze Sunshine pop, Barry M Lemon Ice Cream, Nails Inc. Notting Hill Carnival, Nails Inc. Sumner Place and Essence Mellow Yellow. 

I painted my one-stroke flowers in acrylic paint, and cannot decide if they look too much like a prize rosette LOL

Til denne lysegule ombre brugte jeg følgende farver startende fra tomlen: China Glaze Sunshine pop, Barry M Lemon Ice Cream, Nails Inc. Notting Hill Carnival, Nails Inc. Sumner Place og Essence Mellow Yellow.

Hiding in Skittles - Artsy Wednesday

 

I guess it’s a sign that you are old, when you have to Google the word Skittles to learn what it is… :)

They are this week’s challenge in Artsy Wednesday, and I realized that they would fit right in to my “Hiding in X” series. I tried to find the polishes closest to the photos of Skittles that I found on the internet, and the green and the orange could have been closer, but I guess that means I do not have enough polishes – right???

I started out with painting my nails white with OPI Alpine snow, and then I dotted the Skittles with China Glaze: Turned Up Turquise (greenish) + Sunshine Pop (yellow) + Hey Sailor (red), Orly Orange Punch and Absolute Nails Precious. Finally I top coated.

It was a fun and bright mani to wear on a rainy day…

Det er nok et tegn på, at man er gammel, når man er nødt til at Google ordet Skittles for at finde ud af hvad det er :) 

De er denne uges udfordring i Artsy Wednesday, og jeg tænkte hurtigt at de ville passe perfekt ind i min ”Hiding in x” camouflage serie. Jeg prøvede at finde de lakker, der var tættest på de billeder jeg havde fundet af Skittles, men den grønne og den orange kunne havde været bedre, men det er jo bare et tegn på, at jeg har for få neglelakker, ikke…?

Jeg startede med et lag OPI Alpine snow, og derefter dottede jeg Skittles med China Glaze: Turned Up Turquise (greenish) + Sunshine Pop (yellow) + Hey Sailor (red), Orly Orange Punch og Absolute Nails Precious. Til sidst lagde jeg toplak!

Det var et sjovt og farverigt design, som jeg lavede en grå og regnfuld dag…

 

Pastel wallpaper from the waste bin - pastel tapet fra papirkurven

Please read: I love to have many prepared manicures/posts ready, but the less interesting manis tend to slowly get older and sink to “the bottom of the pile”. So this mani from the end of March, was one of three that barely was rescued from the delete button! I’ll sneak in the other two over the next two weeks…

Læs venligst: Jeg elsker at være foran med forberedte indlæg/designs, og de mindre interessant ting har det med at blive ældre og synke ned i bunden af ”stakken”. Så denne mani fra slutningen af marts var en af tre, der med nød og næppe undgik delete knappen, men her er den! Jeg vil liste de andre to ind i løbet af de to næste uger…

 

The base color is Essie Neo Whimsical, and with a striper I freehanded the light blue stripes with Nubar Blue Hydrangea. The flowers I dotted with China Glaze Sunshine Pop and the center is a dot of Essie Mesmerize. Finally I top coated. 

Personally I prefer stronger colors, as they are better for me, but I like to try out all my ideas, and this mani will look cute on someone else :)

Grundfarven er Essie Neo Whimsical, og jeg malede de tynde striber med en striper og Nubar Blue Hydrangea. Blomsterne prikkede jeg på med et dotting tool og China Glaze Sunshine Pop, og midten af blomsterne er en plet af Essie Mesmerize. Til slut lagde jeg Seche Vite toplak som sædvanligt.

Personligt foretrækker jeg mere knald på farverne, det klæder mig bedre, men jeg kan godt li' at afprøve alle mine ideer, og denne mani vil se sød ud på mange andre end mig :)

Spring abstract on Trout Pout

I simply felt like going crazy with a sponge and a dotting tool, and as I have been walking around Butter London Trout Pout considering some nail art on it – I decided to use it. With a makeup sponge I dabbed random areas with Essie Dive Bar (the very dark blue), Butter London Slapper (teal) and China Glaze Sunshine Pop (yellow) and I dotted random dots Nubar Blue Hydrangea (light blue) and some of the other colors too. Finally I top coated.

It’s an super easy and quick mani, and you can choose the colors you like.

Jeg havde lyst til at gå amok med en makeup svamp og et dotting tool, og da jeg havde gået og kigget på Butter London Trout Pout og overvejet hvilken nail art jeg skulle lave på den, blev det den. Med en makeup svamp duppede jeg tilfædige områder med Essie Dive Bar (den meget mørke blå), Butter London Slapper (teal) og China Glaze Sunshine Pop (gul) og jeg prikkede tilfædige prikker med Nubar Blue Hydrangea (lys blå) og lidt med andre farver også. Til slut lagde jeg toplak.

Det er en superlet og hurtig mani, og du kan vælge de farver du nu har lyst til.

Swatch Saturday - China Glaze: Sweet Hook, Dance Baby, Gothic Lolita & Sunshine Pop + yellow comparison

All are shown in 2 coats over a ridge filler base coat and without a top coat.  They are easy to apply and dry fast.

Alle er vist med 2 lag over en ridge filler grundlak og uden toplak. De er lette at påføre og tørrer hurtigt.

5 yellow polishes – comparison – sammenligning

For some totally unknown reason I have 5 yellow polishes, close but not totally close to each other. So I have made a quick comparison, CG stands for China Glaze…

CG Happy Go Lucky is a cream, the rest have more or less subtle shimmer. CG Lighthouse looks golden/glittery, but it IS a bright and shiny yellow.

Af en eller anden uransagelig årsag har jeg hele 5 gule neglelakker, tæt på hinanden men allgievel forskellige. Så jeg har her lige en hurtig sammenligning, CG står for China Glaze…

CG Happy Go Lucky er en crème lak, resten har mere eller mindre udtalt shimmer. CG Lighthouse ser guld/glitter agtig ud på billederne, men den ER en en skinnende shimmer gul.

Small purple one-stroke flowers on yellow - små lilla blomster på gult

Happy Easter Monday, in Denmark our Easter holiday started Thursday, and this is the last day!
The base color is China Glaze Sunshine Pop, and with acrylic colors and a striper I painted 2 greens in horizontal stripes. Then I used a very small one-stroke brush for the flowers and a dotter for the pink center of the flowers. Finally I top coated with Seche Vite.

God 2. påskedag!
Grundfarven er China Glaze Sunshine Pop, og med akrylfarve og en striper malede jeg vandrette blade/striber i 2 grønne farver. Derefter brugte jeg en meget lille one-stroke pensel til blomsterne og et dotting tool til de små pink støvdragere. Til slut lagde jeg Seche Vite Dry fast Top Coat.

A quick and easy Friday mani...
Sorry about the goofy name, I can't help myself, it's a combination of two of the colors used, and sorry for the oily residue, I had put hand lotion on my hands and forgotten all about it, and when I came around to editing the photos, the mani was gone.

This is 2 coats of China Glaze Electric Beat, and it made me feel springy, so I used Gaga for Green for the grass, Sunshine Pop for the sun and flowers, they are both from the same collection, ElectroPop. For the clouds I used OPI Alpine Snow. I used a dotting tool for clouds, sun and flowers, a fine brush for the longer grass, you also could use a fine dotting tool, and the grass I painted like an uneven French tip.

Et lille hurtigt og let fredags design...
Undskyld det tossede navn, jeg kan ikke ladevære, det er en kombination af to af de brugte lakker – og undskyld den fedtede hinde, jeg havde taget håndlotion på og glemt alt om det, og da jeg skulle redigere fotos nogle dage senere, var manicuren taget af.

Der er brugt 2 lag China Glaze Electric Beat, der satte mig i forårshumør, jeg jeg brugte Gaga for Green til græsset, Sunshine Pop til solen og blomsterne, begge er fra den samme kollektion, ElectroPop. Til skyerne brugte jeg OPI Alpine Snow. Jeg brugte et dotting tool til skyer, sol og blomster, og græsset lavede jeg som en ujævn fransk manicure og til de længere strå, brugte jeg en fin pensel, men jeg kunne lige så got have brugt et dotting tool med mini hoved eller en tandstik.

They are here! They arrived on a frosty, sunny day and made promises of spring – I look forward to wearing the 7 colors I chose to buy from this collection - and to the spring :)
First impressions are great, they are very well pigmented, applies so easy, dries quickly like China Glaze’s polishes normally do – and many of them could be one-coaters.
I’ll let the colors speak for themselves, and with some of them I do comparisons with other similar colors…

Så er de her! De ankom en frostklar dag med strålende sol og lovede forår – jeg ser frem mod at bruge de 7 farver jeg valgte at købe fra denne kollektion og til foråret :)
Førstehåndsindtrykket er rigtigt, rigtigt godt, de er velpigmenterede, er lette at påføre, tørrer hurtigt som China Glaze plejer at gøre – og der er flere af dem, der måske er et-lags.
Jeg vil lade farverne tale for sig selv, og laver med nogen af dem sammenligninger med tilsvarende farver…

Sunshine Pop - opaque i 2 coats, has a weak shimmer, looks like it could apply a little streaky , but it's beautiful! - dækker ved to tag, har et svagt shimmer og ser ud som om, den måske viser penselstrøg ved påføring - men smuk!

More opaque than the OPI, a little lighter than the creme Happy Go Lucky and it has a fine shimmer. Den er langt bedre dækkende end OPI, lidt lysere end creme lakken Happy Go Lucky, og så har den et svagt shimmer.
