Pink warning: Hanging blue/white flowers on bubblegum pink

Pink warning - this mani is for lovers of nail art on bubblegum pink only!

The base color is China Glaze Dance Baby and the flowers I painted with acrylic colors. I used a thin striper for the stems and the flowers are not traditional one-strokes, I did them with a normal and uncut 000 brush. First I dipped the side of the brush in the cream white and the point in the blue, and then I pressed the side gently down to create each petal. It was way more difficult than to do normal one-strokes because it’s difficult to load the brush correctly. As usual I top coated with Seche Vite.
I’m not unhappy with the flowers, a bit on a few stems, but IRL they did not look as thick as on these macro shots. Personally I would have preferred a different ground color, but it’s just me, feeling a bit too old for girly pink LOL, this mani would look great on so many other girls
Do you want more flower mani’s? Click on the page “Flowers/nature/blomster” in the top menu!

Swatch Saturday - China Glaze: Sweet Hook, Dance Baby, Gothic Lolita & Sunshine Pop + yellow comparison

All are shown in 2 coats over a ridge filler base coat and without a top coat.  They are easy to apply and dry fast.
Sweet Hook, a dusty lavender, very opaque

Dance Baby, a bubblegum pink
Gothic Lolita, a gorgeous purple with blue and red purple
Sunshine Pop, a gorgeous yellow with shimmer
Left to right – V mod H: CG Solar Power, CG Happy Go Lukcy, CG Sunshine Pop, OPI Lemonade Stand by your Man, CG Lighthouse.
5 yellow polishes – comparison – sammenligning
For some totally unknown reason I have 5 yellow polishes, close but not totally close to each other. So I have made a quick comparison, CG stands for China Glaze…
CG Happy Go Lucky is a cream, the rest have more or less subtle shimmer. CG Lighthouse looks golden/glittery, but it IS a bright and shiny yellow.

Hiding in pink

The next in my “Hiding in X” series is pink.
When I did my “Hiding in blue”, Ana from “Mimi’s Vanity Box” suggested, that I did a similar pink camouflage, so this is for you my friend, you have been a faithful support ever since I started my blog!
This is my second attempt, you can see the first farthest below, it lacked contrast and edge, so I realized, that I had to add more fuchsia/hot pink to get better contrast, and I started out with China Glaze Ahoy!, a raspberry red/hot pink with nice glass flecks, as the base color. For the dots I used China Glaze Rich & Famous + Dance baby, Essie Lovie Dovie and OPI Pedal Faster Suzi. And I top coated to finish the design.

First discarded attempt/første kasserede forsøg:
My first try became too blahh, way too little contrast for my liking – even if I added a little silver. The base Color is China Glaze Rich & Famouse and the dots/camouflage colors are china Glaze Second Hand Silk + Dance Baby, Essie Lovie Dovie + Spaghetti Strap and OPI Pedal Faster Suzi.

China Glaze ElectroPop - first impressions and comparisons/sammenligninger - picture heavy

Dansk, se længere nede samt sidst i hver billedtekst.
They are here! They arrived on a frosty, sunny day and made promises of spring – I look forward to wearing the 7 colors I chose to buy from this collection - and to the spring :)
First impressions are great, they are very well pigmented, applies so easy, dries quickly like China Glaze’s polishes normally do – and many of them could be one-coaters.
I’ll let the colors speak for themselves, and with some of them I do comparisons with other similar colors…
Remember to check in later today to see an eye-opening top coat comparison!!

Dance Baby - a girly bubblegum pink - en piget lyserød
Left to right/venstre mod højre: China glaze Second Hand Silk (dustier/mere gammelrosa), Dance Baby, Essie Lovie Dovie (warmer/merevarm)
Sunshine Pop - opaque i 2 coats, has a weak shimmer, looks like it could apply a little streaky , but it's beautiful!

From the left/t.v. OPI Lemonade Stand by your man, Sunshine Pop, CG Happy Go Lucky
More opaque than the OPI, a little lighter than the creme Happy Go Lucky and it has a fine shimmer.
Gothic Lolita, a warm purple with a subtle shimmer - en varm lilla med et diskret shimmer
From the left/t.v. CG Senorita Bonita more warm purple with more shimmer/flecks, Gothic Lolita has a subtle shimmer, CG Spontaneous, a cream polish and bit darker and cooler
Sweet Hook - a pale lilac/lavender warm toned - en lys syren/lavendel, varm i tonen

Sweet Hook + Essie Lilacism
Electric Beat - a little more dusty than shown here - lidt mere støvet end på billedet

Electric Beat + China Glaze Secret-peri-wink-le
Kinetic Candy
From the left/t.v. CG For Audrey, Kinetic Candy and CG Sea Spray
I’ll show you on-nail swatches and do nail art on each color I not too long…
