Thinking of You :: Stephanie Washburn

Happy New Year's Eve!

I don't know about you, but I'm ready to move away from the holiday projects for a little while... haha! I had so much fun working on something that wasn't red and green!

It's always great to have cards like this one on hand to send out to friend- I like to keep a little basket with "thinking of you," "hello," "get well," and "missing you" cards in case I never need or want to send them out quickly!

I used the bold sentiment from Growth as the focal image of this card. I really love how the MSS background stamps easily dress up card elements, too! Check out how I used Funky Herringbone layered behind the sentiment panel to really draw attention to the sentiment. LOVE this background.

I'd love for you to stop by my blog
for more information about this card!

Have a happy New Year, everyone! Be safe and have fun tonight! :)

Moving into 2013...

Good Morning, Friends! It feels like forever since you've heard from me, and I can tell you, it's been a really tough year. We've gone through such a roller coaster in our household. Job changes, new pressures, routines, trying to manage a business and caring for two little preschoolers is, for lack of a better word - hard! However, we've accepted the challenges God has put in front of us and are excited to see His plan unfold.

We have some changes for Market Street Stamps, some of which will be revealed later this week, but our biggest, most important change is our Design Team. We absolutely adore our team members. Each are so insanely talented, and each has brought such a unique style to our team. As we close the 2012 season, we have decided to move forward with a new DT structure. Our illustrators will continue designing for their respective lines, and we will be asking individual designers and bloggers to guest post for a length of time next year. This will provide more opportunities to those wishing to serve on the team and I think will be a better model for our plans next year. {more to come}

Before I outline the details on that below, I'd like to just list our designers below and thank them for their incredible commitment, time, and creativity that they've lent us for the past year (and some, the last TWO years)! I have grown to adore these women, and feel extremely blessed and fortunate to know them. I know they each have such amazing gifts to offer and will do wonderful things:

Our new team structure moving forward will be similar to our guest posting we currently do. We will be reaching out to individual bloggers and designers for "featured posts" on their blog.

If you're interested, here is what we're looking from our featured bloggers:
  • An active blog
  • Commitment of 2-3 featured posts featuring a tutorial and/or review on our stamps
  • Active in Social Media {Facebook, Twitter, Pinterest, or Instagram}
  • Link to your online galleries
What will you receive?
  • Dedicated 48 hrs for your post/project on our blog
  • Marketing of your posts on our Facebook, Twitter, Pinterest and Instagram accounts
  • Free stamps! We will send stamp sets to coordinate your project and/or review with.
  • Access to a Designer Facebook group

Please send a short bio, photo, links to your online galleries, and why you'd like to be a featured blogger to angelica {at} marketstreetstamps {dot} com. edit: please use "Featured Blogger 2013" as your subject so it doesn't accidentally get sent to junk mail! Thanks! :)

We will begin scheduling bloggers after the Christmas holiday and look forward to hearing from you!

I'd like to once again, thank our lovely ladies who have served on this team for the year. They've truly left an imprint on my heart with their dedication, faith in MSS, and friendship. xo Angelica

Simple Merry

Hello everyone, Julie here with a simple Christmas card that is perfect for those last minute holiday cards this week. With just some patterned paper, a sentiment and a simple embellishment you can make your Christmas cards in just minutes!

For this card I used the Merry Christmas sentiment from the stamp set Country Christmas and paired it with a layer of patterned paper, a holly rub-on and a small red button for the berry.
Thanks for stopping by and Merry Christmas!

Peace & Joy :: Amy Kolling

Hi everyone!  It's Amy here with a festive card using a fabulous set for paper piecing.........Ornaments by DoBea Alberts.  I love this set....it's HUGE and I like the size of the ornaments.  The hand-drawn look is just so fun.

Peace & Joy

 I didn't mention the sentiments in this set too.  Big that they can be the center of attention on your card or a beautiful compliment to your focal point.  Here I've used the sentiment, Peace & Joy, and heat embossed it in gold.

Peace & Joy3

What do you think of the tiny twine bow?  This is some awesome twine!  It's from the Twinery and it's perfect for those holiday cards!  I made the gold strips the focus and added gold embossing and gold pearls.  LOVE!

Peace & Joy2

Well, I hope you all are enjoying this holiday season!  Have a wonderful day!

Guest Designer :: Virginia Lu

Hello!
We're here today with another post from our Guest Designer
This girl has ROCKED her Market Street Stamps this month- we're so happy happy to have her as our guest!
I love the sentiment from Great Big Greetings! It is the go-to set for making Hello cards! For my first card today, I mixed the sentiment and embossed them in three different colors (orange, turquoise and pink) over black card stock. The border stamps are perfect to make the design look grounded. I then finished it off with Tim Holtz Distress Stain (Picket Fence). That way you get a chalk board look instantly! If you don’t have the Distress Stain, you can use any white chalk ink (such as Color Box) pad to achieve the chalk board look.

Sentiments play a huge role in card designs! Why not let the sentiment take center stage? Here I committed a little “stamping crime”. The sentiment “I REALLY MISS YOU” was cut up and then stamped with assorted colors. Not only do the colors attract your attention, they really really really convey the sentiment beautifully. And no worry, you can still stamp the sentiment like it is—REALLY!
Nothing speaks louder than Neon colors! Here is fun one! Virginia will have more details about this card in her blog:  (Yes, Virginia...)

Thank you SO much for being our guest this month, Virginia! You're AMAZING!

Guest Designer :: Virginia Lu

We are VERY happy to introduce of Guest Designer for December

I am Virginia Lu from Ontario, Canada. I could not be more thrilled to be here as the December Guest Designer! I have been an avid card maker since 2008. I am a simple stamper and I like to add a “wow” factor to my cards as it gives the receivers a lasting impression and a sense of delight and charm. My latest favorite products to use are distress inks and alcohol inks. Trying out new techniques and various products help me stretch my creativity. I love the designs and quality of Market Street Stamps . The stamp designs range from fun and whimsical to vintage shabby. They definitely suit any stamper’s style and needs! Thank you, Market Street Stamps, for this opportunity to work with your wonderful stamps!

I love Baby Basics from Market Street Stamps. It is a perfect set for making Baby Announcements and Baby Shower-themed cards. The idea is to keep the design clean and simple and you can mass produce them easily. Here are some ideas that I came up with and I hope that you are inspired to try them out.
Washi tape are all the rage! Why not utilize them for instant patterning and colors!? These Target washi tape came in handy for making a baby boy/girl Congratulations cards! You can customize the look by using the smallest stamps to your liking. These two cards took less than 10 minutes to make!

The sentiment “heaven sent” is perfect for mulberry paper/handmade paper with the adorable teddy bear image. The minimal copic-coloring of the bears keep the look clean and crisp.

Adding textures is a great way to add a special handmade touch to this darling bear image. You can apply this idea to create gift bags, pocket cards...etc. I used felt and twines for the thank-you cards.

Lastly, if you want to get super creative, you can stamp a design with the clotheslines, pins and rubber ducky from this set. It can be as simple or elaborate as you want it to be.

I hope you enjoy these fun cards that I made! Big thanks to Market Street Stamps for having me as the December guest designer! It is pure FUN!
