Lockdown menus - last week's meals

Monday 18 May
Avocado and tomatoes on sourdough toast; yogurt, blueberries, orange

Tuesday 19 May
Eggs, toast, fruit, coffee

Butter bean and courgette salad (cumin in the dressing)

Sweetheart cabbage, butter, rioja, apple, cheese, more rioja

Wednesday 20 May
Avo on toast, peanut butter and banana on toast, yogurt, blueberries

Sweetheart cabbage, toasted cheese sandwich on Vogel's bread

Pasta with a nice sauce and nice glass of wine

Thursday 21 May
A hearty brunch

The photo of the dinner has, like the meal, disappeared ...

Friday 22 May
Toast with muhumara, fruit salad and yogurt, cheese

Rather skimpy picnic lunch

Bountiful spinach salad

Saturday 23 May
Savoury start - lentilish curry with yogurt, toast, fruit

Chorizo-pasta lunch, followed by birthday loaf cake and coffee in the sitting room

Pork filet wrapped in parma ham, with lemony-minty courgettes, brown basmati

Omelette, sourdough toast, blueberries, yogurt

Spinach salad, with egg; coffee cake, orange

English asparagus and white wine, and a few grapes, it's enough

Tuesday May 12
Avo on sourdough toast, peanut butter in celery - and tea

Smoked mackerel on toast, carrots, spinach

Meatballs with pasta

Wednesday May 13
Eggs, toast, blueberries, yogurt - tea again

Smoked mackerel, fennel, apple, crispbread

Entertainment, with popcorn and other snacks

 Thursday May 14
Strange breakfast - microwaved sponge pudding, quite old....

Turkish sesame bread, cheese

Tandoori chicken, rice, leftover mushroom stroganoff, English asparagus

Friday May 15 
Two egg omelette, sourdough toast, blueberries and yogurt

Cauli and lentil soup, sourdough toast, the possibility of muhumara

Roast veg, brown rice, pesto, and something red

Saturday May 16
Toast with avocado and/or sloe jam; apples and cheese

Sausage plus in the bagel

Chicken fried rice for all the family

Sunday May 17
Two-egg omelette, sourdough toast, blueberries and yogurt

Freezer soup augmented with spinach, nuts on side

Snack supper with sauvignon blanc and livestream of some sort

Monday 4 May
Brie on sourdough, orange, coffee

Garnished soup from the freezer, slightly curried perhaps. Dr Karg bread and baklava

Linguine with courgettes and mushrooms, and a nice glass of wine

Tuesday
Bagels with cream cheese and marmalade, more chesse with the apple

Veg fry-up, fizzy lemonade to drink

Chicken and courgette with mash

Wednesday
Egg, tomatoes on sourdough toast, yogurt, coffee

Roast veg, yogurt, Polish rye bread, dates

Canadian smoked salmon on sourdough, ice cream to follow

Thursday
Eggs, Polish rye, maybe with marmalade

Pasta and a veggie sauce

Asparagus for starter...

... followed by bangers and mash, and sweetheart cabbage

Friday
Avocado on toast, yogurt with blueberries, pear and cheese

Curried cauli soup (from freezer), yogurt garnish, Polish rye bread

Chickpea and parsnip curry, with rice and yogurt, and a Friday-night beer

Saturday
One egg, one toast - and the other toast with cream cheese and marmalade.

Smoked mackerel on crispbread, celery, a pear

Grilled aubergine, bacon, stir-fried peppers, and a few other bits

 Sunday 10 May
Smoked mackerel (for breakfast!) , sourdough toast, melon and blueberries

Spag bol

Two veg curries, spiced rice, bitter lemon tomato salad
