Inspired by a Song at Allsorts

It's my pleasure to be the optional theme picker at Allsorts this time and I chose

Inspired by a song

We are BIG Queen fans in this house, and although were never fortunate enough to see them live have most of their music in LP, Cassette and CD form. Our boys could sing Bohemian Rhapsody and Killer Queen, word for word, from toddlers!!

Anyway, those aren't the titles that I have chosen to inspire you with, I have gone with

Bicycle Race

and

Fat Bottomed Girls

I am a big fan of Jules' sketches and I used Rectangle Sketch # 15 for both of my cards.

The first uses a favourite The Cats Pajamas stamp, coloured with Promarkers and teamed with some free design papers that came with a magazine a very long time ago.

The second is a fabulous rhino from Rhino Rascals by Tracey Hey together with an excellent sentiment that we should all remember girls!! Coloured again with Promarkers to match the  Dovecraft Paper Posies papers.

We have some pretty bluebells down our lane, this was silly o'clock on Tuesday morning!!

NB I am not a weird shape, it's my body protector!! At my age I really should give up extreme sports!!

Thank you for dropping in  xx

Beginning with B at The Cuties

Hello  friends. I hope this week has good things in store for you. I love starting the week with a cute card and this one is my DT piece for

where, this month, we are looking forward to seeing your incredibly cute cards featuring things beginning with B.

I've chosen to showcase Bunny, Bike and Blooms.

I have used my favourite bunny rabbit from The Cats Pajamas. I used the cling version but you can get him in digi form here, as well as lots of others!! I coloured him with Promarkers to match the 30cm x 15cm paper that came from a pad that I found in The Range a long time ago. As it was of a good weight I simply folded it in half for a square card base and matted some matching cardstock to frame the stamped image.

Thank you for dropping in and thank you for your comments and support.

Something Green

Hello friends and visitors. Lovely to have you here and I hope you had a lovely weekend. Ours was a bit disappointing as we had more of the wet stuff. Every cloud has a silver lining as we didn;t have to water the garden though!!

Anyway we are going GREEN (and cute) at

and this is what I made to inspire you.

I found a Scandi style First Edition paper pad that had just the shade of green that I had in mind. I die cut the frame and coloured my super cute Cats Pajamas stamp (Define Good - mine is a stamp but also available as a digi)  with Promarkers to match. The frame looked a little bit plain so I used glittery tonic drops as holly berries that actually worked very well. Finally I used a LOTV printable for the sentiment. I printed and cut out all the strips and they are really useful to have at hand to finish off a card.

That's all for now. I have an extra day off today in lieu of the August Bank Holiday so I think we are off out to find a nice toasted teacake and do a spot of sale shopping in Harts of Stur, a favourite haunt of mine. Whatever you are up to, I hope you have a good week ahead.

See you later in the week xx

Animals or people?

An odd title I know but we like to keep you on your toes when you join in at

This time we would love to know if you prefer people or animals on your cards/projects.

For me it's animals, particularly the cute and fluffy variety, they are so much easier to colour than hair on a person. The card I am sharing is using one of my favourite critters actually, and the sentiment always makes me smile.

I used a Do Crafts (I think) pad, for this pretty pink joy fold card, so that the papers were a perfect match for my pink loving friend. The bunny was coloured with Promarkers to match.

Well it's been a rainy old week so far in Dorset, much needed but a shock to the system nonetheless!! It wasn't ideal for our first Over 65's Flu Clinic yesterday. Keeping Covid safe we had all the windows and doors open so it was a tad draughty!!

Thank you for your company friends. See you soon xx

Stitching

I'm like one of those buses me. Nothing for ages then two posts in a week!!

This time I am sharing a card featuring "stitching", my way. It's for our new challenge at

As You Like It Challenge

where we always ask you to showcase a favourite and tell us why. This time we would love to see your favourite way of adding stitching to your cards.

My favourite way of doing stitching myself is by using my piercing ruler to first prick holes in the card using a piercing tool. I then join the dots with a black fineliner, I think this actually looks quite authentic. I am in awe of anyone that can machine/hand stitch their cards and despite following the lovely Jules' stitching masterclass I still manage to make a pigs' ear of it!!

Shamefuly everything on this card is Never Before Used Schtuff, the paper is from  YNS Winter Knits paper pad and the cute rabbit from The Cat's Pajamas. Not sure how long they have been "items in waiting" but a couple of years or more I should imagine!! While I was having a sort out, as you do, I found a pan of watercolour paints so had a dabble and painted for a change.

I hope to be here soon xx

Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas

Hello again!! More Cutie inspiration for you, this time

where we are saying "Have yourself a Merry Little Christmas" and would love to see your Cutie Christmas cards inspired by a Christmas song or carol.

Mine is Frosty the Snowman

I used glitter paste through a snowflake stencil for the background that, on it's own, looked a little bit bare so I had a rummage through my die cuts and found a little house scene that was a freebie from Dies to Die For. The little snowman is from a Cats Pajamas set and was coloured with Promarkers.

While on the subject of Frosty, you may remember that I was planning to make sock snowmen, well here is the first!!

I was really pleased with the result, there are loads of tutorials on You Tube if you would like to have a go, it was really easy to do but be warned, you need LOTS of rice!!

So, that is me for today. I hope this week will be a good one for you. Thak you for popping in to see me, your comments and support are much appreciated xx

Christmas animals

Hello lovely people. Hope this week will be a good one whatever it has in store. I am kicking mine off with a cute card for

where the new challenge starts today and we would love to see your Christmas cards featuring a cute animal this time.

I have made a real effort, during these home times, to use stamps that I already have and this cute rabbit is one of them.

This cute fella is from The Cats Pajamas Bunny Snowglobe set. I teamed him with a digi paper from Nitwits Collection, Patchwork Christmas. I covered the globe element in a glittery film which, I believe, came from Little Claire Designs when they were still trading. Because there is space for a sentiment at the base of the globe I simpy added a wooden button and twine as a finishing touch. It is a tiny little 4 x 4 card and yes, I wish I had made multiples!!

See you later in the week xx

Gorgeous Greens

Hello friends and visitors!!

It's all about GREEN this time at

I went with a simple design to showcase the fabulous green MFT background paper.

The adorable little rabbit is from The Cat's Pajamas set Family forever and was coloured with Promarkers/Flexmarkers. It looks a little bit washed out actually, oh how I long for a decent light to take photographs!! I am beginning to wonder if the rain will ever stop!!

Well, that is all from me for now. See you later in the week xx

A little bit "Wordy"

Hello to you all.

I luckily found myself with a few minutes to indulge in some crafting. For one or other reason  I have missed playing along at Allsorts for a while so used their current theme "Sentiment in Focus" as my inspiration.

I have so many "wordy" stamps yet never play around to see what I can achieve with them. On this occasion I used a, little inked, Altenew set that I bought a few years ago and put it with a darling little stamp from a set that comes from The Cats Pajamas. The bunnies were coloured with Promarkers and I added some flowersoft to their tails. Not happy with the uber CAS look I found some doodle style stamps for the edges...that's much better!!

I had good intentions for this morning, gardenwise, but it is grey and rather chilly here so lawn mowing can wait until later when, I am assured, the sun is going to come out. Until then I am going to make some Easter biscuits!! Whatever you are doing I hope you have a good day.

See you tomorrow xx

It's Christmas for me at AYLI!!

Happy Thursday blogland peeps. I have a bit of DT inspiration today for the new challenge at

We would love you to share your favourite type of card, Christmas or non-Christmas

I am so behind with my Christmas cards this year so it had to be a festive card. I have so many unused stamps that I bought last year that it is also the perfect opportunity to ink them up too!!

This little bunny is one of them. I won a spend at The Cat's Pajamas after leaving a comment on my lovely blog buddy Brenda's blog and chose this set Bunny Christmas. I love these guys and have quite a few of them now. It is a much smaller card than I would usually make being only a 4 inch square. The papers were a little scrap and bunny was coloured with Promarkers. Being  Christmas there is obviously a dusting of glitter too!!

Thank you for stopping by and I hope that you will play along. It's pretty much a free for all!!

See you soon xx

I love Promarkers #346 - Show us some sparkle
The holly and ivy #18 - Always anything goes
Jingle belles - Not a creature was stirring

Run rabbit, run!!

I have quite a collection of The Cat's Pajamas stamps and they were long overdue an outing. So, inspired by TCP current challenge I made this

I used bright and cheery Doodlebug papers as my colour palette and went from there. Coloured with Promarkers I glittered the windmills and punched out some additional flowers. The gorgeous Marianne Designs die cut curve finished it off nicely I thought.

I am joining in here

Lemon Shortbread  #9 - Anything Goes
Creative Corner - Bunnies Everywhere

Right I'm off to find some extra layers, our central heating doesn't appear to be firing up tonight...typical!!

Thanks for stopping by, I'll be back in the morning with another card xx

"V" for Very Cute

I am guesting again at ABC Christmas Challenge and the letter this time is

"V" for Very Cute

Here is what I came up with

The sponsor is Zlatoena and as I have some of her images in stamp form decided to use one of them. This guy is Define Good and he was coloured with Promarkers. The papers are Lawn Fawn Snow Day. There was a liberal sprinkling of glamour dust for a snowy effect too.

What's your favourite layout?

Happy Thursday everyone, it'll soon be the weekend and a lovely long one here in the UK. Added to that my month long spell of holiday cover at work is over so that means that I shall be visiting  you all more often!!

Anyway, I am actually here to shout about the new challenge starting today at

As You Like It and we are inviting you to join us and share

Your Favourite Layout...here's mine (at the moment!!)

I have been really enjoying sketches at the moment, particularly Jules' at Always With A Heart. This gem is #6 from her ever growing collection and I especially like this layout as it showcases the patterned papers beautifully, in this case Dovecraft More or Less. I dug out my The Ca't Pajamas stamps and chose to use this one "A Girl and her Cake". She was coloured with Promarkers to match the papers.
