All hail the Easter...dragon!!

Hello peeps welcome to Thursday and the new challenge over at

We have something a little bit different today and are inviting you to share your favourite non-traditional Easter character.

I don't mind admitting that I have never considered putting anything other than a fluffy bunny, chick or lamb on an Easter card. But never one to shy away from a challenge, and after taking advantage of the excellent prices currently (at the time of writing!!) offered at LOTV,  I decided to put a dragon on my Easter card. Why not?!

The paper is from a Taylored Expression stack that I've had forever. I rummaged in my snippets drawer to find suitable colours for the mats and coloured the adorable dragon, with Promarkers, to match. The sentiment was computer generated and it was lovely to use my cheery Lynn banner die set again after a fairly long haitus. Happy days!!

I am so looking forward to seeing your non-traditional Easter characters, I think we might be in for a giggle or two!!

Have a lovely weekend, when it arrives. I think we are due some nice weather here in the UK, so fingers crossed for that.

See you soon xx

A very fancy fold!!

You know yesterday I said I managed a bit of crafty indulgence over the weekend, well it was inspired by the new challenge at Allsorts. I am ashamed to say that it has been a while since I have entered any of their challenges as work commitments meant I only had time for DT pieces, most of which weren't suitable. So when I saw the Fancy Folds challenge this week that was inspiration enough for me to make time to play and here is what I made.

and a side view...ish

and this rubbish picture shows how it will look when it comes out of the envelope

Like the one I shared last week it looks complicated but in actual fact is very easy.
The beauty is that it is flat for posting and yet stands centre stage in the mantelpiece!!
I have also been itching to have a go at colouring on kraft again and was inspired by Jules and her lovely work in Quick Cards Made Easy.

Here are the measurements if you fancy having a go!!

You need card stock 11" long and about 4" wide. Score the long edge at 1",  2.75", 3.75", 5.50", 7.25", 8.25" and 10". Cut a slot along the 5.50" (halfway score) leaving half an inch either side so that your mat can fit through. Score and fold, decorate a 5" x 3" mat, making sure it is one layer only otherwise it won't slide through, poke it through the slot between the flaps inside and secure with wet glue or extra sticky tape. If my instructions are pants  (!!!) I am sure you will find demos on YouTube!!

If you are still with me, thank you !! See you Thursday xx

to Layer or not to Layer?

Hello!! A DT card to share today for

As You Like It Challenge

where the theme this fortnight is to showcase your projects showing one or more layers...don't forget to tell us why!!

It's layers for me as I have a lifetime's worth of paper pads to use up!!

I started with a flat layer of LOTV backing paper (retired but available here in digi form) then mounted the frame on dimensional tape (layer 2), the darling little digi stamp Jillian is a freebie from Wee Stamps was coloured with Promarkers and made layer 3. Finally the Taylored Expressions "happy" was die cut twice and layered up making...well...lots of layers in my book!!

Crafty Gals's Corner #56 - Anything Goes
I Love Promarkers #301 - Anything Goes

January Blues

Hello peeps hope you are well today.

I struggle with cards for men so am going to make an effort to join in with more male orientated challenges this year to increase my stock. So, here is the first attempt ( as promised Julie)!!

Now, I really didn't need any more stamps BUT another accidental purchase happened after Kat shared a couple of cards using the Taylored Expressions Party Grumplings so, unfortunately, I had to get them!! They are just right for man cards so I am intending to get value from them. He was coloured with Pro/Flexmarkers and the spotty paper was from a Craftwork Cards pad. The perfectly coordinated button was from my button tin and I added some hemp twine to finish off.

I am playing here

Cardz 4 Guys #103 - Blue is the colour
Ruby's Rainbow #121 - Animal Magic
Simon Says Stamp Wednesday challenge - Create with critters
Dream Valley challenges #123 - New (my stamp!!)
Love to scrap #70 - Anything Goes
Craft Your Passion #295 - Anything Goes

I'm off to do more of my crochet blanket, and to keep warm while in the process!!

Have a lovely evening xx
