Candy Cane

Hello friends. I am feeling a bit festive today because it's new challenge launch at

we are taking a trip down Candy Cane Lane so would love to see your cute Christmas cards featuring a red and white colour combo or candy canes.

 Here's my card...

Many moons ago the super talented Wends (Crafty Kiwi Mamma) did a blog candy and I won the stamp that is gracing my card. She is aptly named Candy Canes so was the absolute perfect choice. She was coloured with Promarkers except her hair which had a touch of pencil added also. The papers are from another pad from The Works. I found some sinky candy cane embellishments in my stash so added them too.

It's a glorious day as I write this and it amuses me to be sharing a Christmas card while wearing shorts and a vest top!!

See you soon xx

New or Recycled

It seems like only yesterday that I was posting the Non-Easter character challenge at

but those two weeks have flown and here I am again with another bit of inspiration for you.

This time we are looking forward to seeing your projects using recycled or new (remember to tell us why). Well I couldn't make up my mind, I had some lovely stamps that I recently won over at Snippets Playground and a fabulous gift box that contained bathing goodies so I used both!!

Here is the box before I flattened it and cut it up.

The cheeky little stamp is a Saturated Canary one by the name of Oo La La.

I coloured her with Promarkers and fussy cut her. I am not a huge fan of the white showing but thought that she would "disappear" into the busy foiled mat and I was right, she stands proud with that white edge. I cut the box into six panels, one I kept whole and halved another to go either side, behind. The lid was a flat copper foil so that was used for the scalloped edge mats, behind her and behind the message. That particular stamp set was part of the challenge win (together with another SC stamp too!!) and came from IndigoBlu and is called Giggles. Honestly the sentiments/sayings are hilarious!!

I still have four panels of the box left and some parts of the base and lid which I think would look rather nice on a Christmas card so expect to see that later in the year!!

For now though I will say cheerio and wish you a good weekend xx

First day

Well, the little darlings have gone back to school here in the UK. My BIG darling is back to Uni in a couple of weeks and his Girlfriend, Laura, had her first day at School yesterday...as an Infant School Teacher!!

This is the card that I made for her

I paid a long overdue visit to Saturated Canary for Tammy Pie whose resemblance to Laura is uncanny. She was coloured with Promarkers and I added the snippet of Farmer's Market paper, that came from my scraps, to add a bit more colour. I typed a sentiment inside which read
" Teachers change the world...one child at a time!".
I am reliably informed that she loved it and that she ended her first day in one piece!!

One or two challenges to play along

Sweet Stampin' - School days
Dream Valley #114 - Back to school
Thank you for sharing your day with me xx
