Fun Fold at AYLI

I have a really unusual card to share with you today. Yet another colleague has retired so it was the perfect opportunity to make a very special card which fits perfectly with the new challenge at

It's FUN FOLD and this is my make

and here it is again at a jaunty angle to show the dimension.

I'll be honest, I'm not really in to fun folds because the cost of postage is so high BUT this was hand delivered so I pushed the boat out and strayed from 6x6 tent fold for a change!!

This is a pyramid arrow card that I found here at Created the Ottaway. It is SO effective but very easy to make with a minimal amount of measuring and folding. I layered the back so that I could write a message. The pretty daffodil paper is a digital from The Lovely Studio (no longer available, sadly). The die cut flowers and leaves are a Creative Expressions set, the "happy" die cut is from a Your Next Stamp set and the "retirement" from a Whimsy sentiment set. I am going to be making more of these for Easter!!

Please do join us with your fun folds.

See you soon xx

Special Occasions

Happy Monday everyone and I hope this week is kind to you. Today is the first of three visits for me so I will kick the week off by inviting you to join in at

where the theme this month is

Special Occasions.

I am getting on a bit and seem to be making an awful lot of retirement cards lately for colleagues and friends so what better special occasion than that!!?

I used a super cute LOTV rubber stamp and coloured him to match the Bo Bunny paper pad. I used my lovely tearing rulers again for the panel and used a MFT die cut frame too. The sentiment was cobbled together using two different stamp sets, happy was a freebie and retirement from Whimsy. All edges were inked for a little bit of interest.

I am looking forward to seeing your interpretation of Special Occasion.

See you on Thursday xx

Bees, Butterflies and Blooms

Happy weekend everyone, I hope it's going to be full of good things wherever you are in the world.

Summer is in full swing here in the UK and the optional theme at Allsorts this week is perfect.

Bees, Blooms and Butterflies

Here is my card to tempt you.

I found a perfect red, rubber, Whimsy Stamp in my collection and coloured it, with Promarkers, to match a ditsy print paper pad that came from The Range. I used an old Impression Obsession butterfly die set to embellish the card. The sentiment was made up from two stamp sets, both magazine freebies, back in the day. A work colleague is retiring next Friday so I made this card for her.

This was earlier in the week. A long awaited summer morning.

It's lovely to have your company. See you soon xx

Cool or Warm at AYLI

Hello everyone. I hope you are well this fine Thursday and looking forward to the coming weekend. I am hoping to finally get back on board the pony. It's been a long six weeks since my fall but I am happy to report that all appears well in the butt cheek department!! I was eventually referred to Fracture Clinic because of a  non-reducing large haematoma. The Orthopaedic Surgeon that I saw had me whisked to Ultrasound to have the lump drained and since then my recovery has, thankfully, been swift.

Anyway, less about me and more about my card. It's to hopefully encourage you to join in at

As You Like It Challenge

where the DT are sharing their favourite colours Warm or Cool and there is even a fabulous colour wheel for you to take inspiration from too!!

On inspection, I found that the tally of my makes favours the cooler spectrum, I suspect the reason for this is that I was a Winter baby so go for the cooler shades.

My lovely Friend and colleague  (Practice Vampire/Phlebotomist) has just retired so I hunted out this lovely House Mouse decoupage sheet and made this for her.

Oh I did enjoy cutting out those sweet little mice. I had forgotten what a huge topper they actually make so the card base itself was 7 x 7. The spotty paper was from a LOTV Snow Princess paper pad and the ombre stripe was the absolute perfect match for the topper, although it was actually greener rather than yellow, as in the picture. It's not often I add flowers but this special card called for it and I found some perfect blooms in my flower box.

So I look forward to seeing what you share with us.

Thanks, as always, for your continued visits. See you soon xx
