Allsorts Spring

Lorraine is host and optional theme picker at Allsorts Challenge this week.

The theme is Spring, of course you can also go with Anything Goes.

I used a gorgeous Imagination Crafts stamp set that I coloured with Promarkers.

The background was colourwashed with Creative Expressions mica shimmer powder that I made into a wash. I used a subtle green shade that is visible here.

Our daffodils are looking gorgeous in the pet garden but we don't have tulips because of the windy aspect. We have tried in the past but they just don't survive so it's lovely to be able to see them on a card.

As always, we have amazing sponsors, prizes from whom will be announced at the end of the month.

Prizes from AALL and Create and Aldridge Crafts

Have a good weekend whatever you are up to xx

Allsorts Spring Garden

Hello everyone!! Pinch Punch First of the Month...It's April and we are in the Spring Garden this week at Allsorts

Here is my inspiration for you.

I don't know what has happened to Imagination Crafts but they sure did make some lovely stamps back in the day. They were based just down the road from me so helped with my attempts to buy local. This one was part of their decoupage stamp range. I used glossy black embossing powder and painted the image with Twinkling H20's...remember them!? Mine are very, very old and I did wonder if they would work but a quick spritz and they were as good as new.

You can see the shimmer better here...

As I mentioned earlier now we are in a new month the following sponsors have goodies up for grabs so please do join in for a chance to win.

I hope you all have a lovely weekend xx

Favourite Medium

A nice easy theme for you at AS YOU LIKE IT CHALLENGE this time.

Favourite Colouring Medium.

It will come as no surprise that mine is Promarkers. Over the years I have tried other alcohol markers and pencils, yet always reach for my Promarkers when colouring an image. I am familiar with the colours that blend and find doing so is really easy. So this is what I made.

It's Mothering Sunday in the UK this weekend so I thought this Imagination Crafts stamp with it's lovely tulips and springtime text would be perfect. The whole image was washed  with Spectrum Noir Sparkle, which is a little easier to see in the next picture.

Thank you for calling in today, it's always a delight to read your comments.

See you soon xx

Is spring in the air?

Hello crafters, I have a springy creation for you today. The tulips in my garden are coming up but the blooms are not going to show themselves for a while yet so, for now, I have this on my mantelpiece!!

The lovely stamp is by Imagination Crafts and, I am ashamed to say, has been in my stash for a few years now. I bought it on a whim and because it isn't cute,  have never known what to do with it...until now. With so many floral and spring challenges about I thought I'd break open the plastic and have a play. I chose the pretty pink Doodlebug Designs paper first and then heat embossed the stamp with white powder. Although it's really hard to see, I rubbed pink distress ink all over the background and then coloured the tulips and leaves with Promarkers.

I enhanced the tulip heads with clear wink of stella and dotted some stardust stickles around for a bit of pizzazz!!

Right, better get linked up and join in, I'm cutting it a bit fine!!

There's no sign of spring today in Dorset, it's foggy and dull, but the rest of the week has been glorious. Hope it's nice where you are!!

Until next time xx
