Best Friend Hugs

Hugs...all being well it won't be too long until we can let loose and HUG again here in the UK. I am going to be choosy though, not everyone I encounter will get one!! I wonder if there will be restrictions on how long the hug can last?

This sweet card is my DT inspiration for Colour Crazy Challenge where we are always Anything Goes as long as your card is hand coloured.

Our Sponsor is Polkadoodles and since I recently got my hands on the Honeypie bundle, used Best Friend Hugs. The paper is from Alpaca Pals and I attempted to colour their dresses and shoes in an ombre style, which you can only see on the blue one. It looks quite effective in real life!!

Thank you for stopping by, it is much appreciated.

See you soon xx

How do you add your ribbon then?

Hello everyone and happy May to you all!! It is feeling distinctly warmer here in the UK after weeks of frosts and cold weather. I know it has rained but at least it is a little bit warmer, so much so that I have put the winter boots away and started packing away my jumpers...about time too!!

I paid a visit to Alpaca Pals a couple of weeks ago and made an accidental purchase so just had to colour the beautiful bouquet from the Thanks a Bunch set. I always feel very virtuous buying from Tracey as she is located just over the hill from me so the carbon footprint is quite small, therefore a contribution to saving the planet!! I coloured this rather large beauty with Promarkers and used a few blobs of Stardust Stickles too. The sentiment (also from the set) was heat embossed in white onto a scrap of black cardstock Anyway, this card is to inspire you to join us in the new challenge at

We would really like to know how you add ribbon to your card/project.

For someone who has a big enough ribbon stash to last several lifetimes, I really don't dip into it often enough!! Here I have just used a perfectly matched bow to suggest a hand tied bouquet. This card is to be hand delivered so a little bit of bulk really didn't matter too much. If I am making cards that are to be posted I will incorporate flat ribbon somewhere on the design or use seam binding that squishes quite flat in the envelope.

Well, that's me for today. I hope that you will find time to play along xx

Summer or Autumn at AYLI

Hello everyone, don't be shocked but it's me again.

I am getting a bit ahead of myself with a little autumnal number as my DT piece for

where the theme is Summer or Autumn. As always you can interpret the theme as you wish but do remember to tell us why.

I am most definitely an autumn person. I marvel at the glorious colours of the season and love nothing more than riding or kicking my way through the crunchy fallen leaves on a misty morning.
I just happened to have the perfect paper pad  to use with the sweet Tracey Hey fox (an early set from Mama Makes) that I coloured with Promarkers. The message and hearts are from the current Rhino Rascals set and I finished it off with a spotty orange satin ribbon.

I hope you will join us.

Have a good weekend, when it arrives. See you soon xx

That's an oops....

...whoopsie daisy, I forgot that it is new challenge launch at

So here is my (almost twelve hours late) inspiration for you.

It is a great theme this time...made for me as we are asking you to use two or more patterned papers.

My patterned papers, I am pretty certain, are from a Lawn Fawn pad and I used a very old Spellbinders die for the snowy hillock (what a great word!!). The most adorable moose ( and sentiment actually) are from an Alpaca Pals set by the fantastically talented Tracey Hey. I am rekindling my love affair with embossing powders and have, once again, heat embossed the stamped image before colouring with my Pro/Flexmarkers.

Rightio, Bowie is yipping at me to go and play ball so I will leave you here, thinking about what papers you are going to use to make another Christmas card to add to your pile and to enter at
Christmas with the Cuties...see you there!! xx

Animals or People

I have the cutest card to share that I hope will encourage you to join in the new challenge that starts today at

Animals or people (remember the reason too)

That sweet rhino dressed as a bumble bee is from Tracey Hey's Rhino Rascals. I love her characters and unusual sentiments. Anyway the image was stamped in Versamark and then black embossing powder was heated for a lovely shiny outline. I am not great at colouring hair so, by choice,  find animals a much easier option. This cutie was coloured with Flexmarkers. I happened to find some sweet bumble bee paper in my stash which, I think, may be from a Doodlebug Designs pad.

I hope you enjoy the Easter Weekend, albeit not what we are used to but necessary nonetheless.

See you soon and stay safe xx
