CTD130 & SSS96–Enjoy Spring Flowers

SONY DSC

Hello eveyrone~

I have one card to show you today :) I used Patty’s Pretty Posies set from InStyle Stamps. I’ve enjoyed using this set throughout this month. I’m so glad Virginia, the owner of ISS asked me to be a guest DT for the month of February!! It was such a fun one month! Thank you Virginia for giving this wonderful opportunity. You can check my other cards using the set HERE, HERE and HERE.

I’m submitting the card to a couple challenges…The sketch is coming from Sweet Stop Sketch 97 (SSS97) . The color combo was inspired by Color Throwdown 130 (CTD130)I had to use green a little bit for the leaves :P I hope it’s still OK to enter…

SSS96

swatch 130

SONY DSC

The image was used my favorite coloring medium, Copic markers. I masked the mat and sponged light brown color with dauber. The sentiment was used PTI Tag For Spring set.

I made the paper flower with paper punches (see the photo below). I punched 3 big flower, 3 small flowers and 2 leaves. Before assembling each piece, I used stylus (mine is the end of Sharpie marker, lol) and pressed each flower with circular motion until the flower is shaped like a cup. Then I inched and bended each petal using the straight tweezers. (I use the ones for eyebrows) I love using hot glue to assemble the flower but I think you can use any liquid glue for paper crafting. The closed bud on the center was just pinched tight after I put glue on the center of the flower. (Be careful not to burn your finger if you use hot glue!) The each flower was overlapped and I attached leaves on the back of flower :) I think it was turned out pretty cute!

InStyle Stamps Guest Designer :)

SONY DSC

Hello everyone~

I have an exciting news to tell you!! I was asked to be the guest designer of InStyle Stamps for a month of February!! Who couldn’t say “No” to their cute stamps? They just came back from their first CHA and the new stamps are releasing this Friday!! I can hardly wait (to get all of them, lol)!! Be sure to check InStyle Blog for the sneak peeks, challenges and the DT’s wonderful creations!!

Since this is my first post as the GDT, I decided to play with their Sketch Challenge (ISSSC02). You can check all of InStyle current challenges on the side bar of InStyle Stamps Blog.

SONY DSC

The stamp I used is called Pretty Posies and the set will be available on Friday, Feb 5th!! I also used my color combination from The Color Throwdown 127 (CTD127). I colored the image with Copic markers and sponged the circle mat with brown ink. Then I just followed the sketch and design the card with the coordinated designer papers and cardstock. To finish off, I embellsihed with ribbon, button and blue pearls.

SONY DSC

SONY DSC

The next card was used another image from Pretty Posies!! I colored the image with Copic markers again and sponged the oval mat with light blue ink. The colors are inspired of the word chipboard stickers. I embellished with the swirl rhinestones & rhinestone flowers and flower chipboard sticker to finish off the card. The sketch was based on the Midnight Madness Sketch Challenge 88 (MMSC88 - the submission is closed) … I just changed placing the embellishments so that I can include the word stickers :)

RI SOTW–Week of Nov 1st, 2010

SONY DSC

Hello again,

Today is another Stamp of the Week from Repeat Impressions. This week’s SOTW is this adorable teddy bear stamp, Christmas Teddy (2007-I). The SOTW is available exclusively to our RI blog readers at 50% OFF with the special discount code from Mon, Nov 1st – Sun, Nov 7th. To get the discount code and more information about the SOTW, please go to the RI blog “The House That Stamps Built”.

I had so much fun with creating today’s card! I used Rocking Horse (117-I) and Toy Train (628-I) with the Christmas Teddy. When I stamped each image, I used the masking. The result after maksing is always so exciting…to me, it’s similar to unwrap the gifts, lol. All images were colored with Copic markers and then I simply stamped the greeting, Christmas (1141-F) beneath of the image. To finish off, I embellished with the ribbon on the bottom and buttons on the corner.

The color combo was based on The Color Throwdown Challenge 116 (CTD116)…can’t ignore this beautiful combo even it was too late to submit!

SONY DSC

Hello everyone~

Thank you all for celebrating the Color Throwdown 100th Challenge with us!! We had over 350 participants for the event! I enjoyed checking your beautiful projects and I was also encouraged by so many wonderful comments. Thank you so much!! The prize winners are going to be post at CTD Blog on Friday (I will post the KSS gift certificate winner here at the same time)…so please be patient for a little longer…

swatch 101

Well, as you know, the show must go on and I hope you are ready to play another beautiful color combo (CTD101- check out the swatch on the right). Please stop by the Color Throwdown Blog for all the details.

My card for the last challenge was a kind of bright and a lot of layers….so I decided to use this color combo with more simple and cleaner style :) The fern images were stamped on the watercolor paper and the paper was water colored with re-inkers. After the ink was completely dried, I off-stamped the images again for the shadows. The paper piercing was done on the stamped mat and the kraft layer. The cotton silk ribbon was pleated when it was attached and I embellished the pearls to complete the card.

You can purchase the same stamps, watercolor paper, cotton silk ribbon and pearls at Flourishes LLC.

Coloring, Coloring…Fun, Fun Fun!!

SONY DSC

Hello everyone~

I’ve been so busy with being “Mom Taxi” this week… my son goes to VBS and Cub Scout camp every day this week and my daughter’s cheer practices, 2 days for JR High and 1 day for a private cheer team…I’m trying to squeeze my stamping time 1 hour here and 1 hour there, lol.

So far, I’ve made 2 cards I can show. I was really in a mood for coloring for the last couple cards. I’m happy that my coloring mojo is slowly coming back!

SONY DSC

The first card (above) was used the color combo from Curtain Call Color Challenge (ACT35) . I used Sugar Nellie’s Sweet Art Ebony stamp and colored with Copic markers. I sponged the tea roses with the cameo coral ink to make the roses close to the challenge color.

Stamps: Sweet Art Ebony (Sugar Nellie), Faux Ribbons – sentiment (PTI)
Paper: classic white (Flourishes), tempting turquoise, cameo coral, garden green, green galore, retired DP (SU), pink and colored dots DP (MME)
Ink: Memento tuxedo black (Tsukineko) tempting turquoise, cameo coral, garden green (SU), Copic markers
Accessories: ribbon, Prima tea roses
Tools: big scallop oval & label 11 Nestablities

SONY DSC

The next card was used the sketch from Mercy’s Tuesday Sketch challenge 79 (MTSC79) and the color combo from Color Throwdown Challenge 98 (CTD98).

SONY DSC

The lady on the phone image is from TSG Domestic Goddess…really fun set! It was colored with Copic markers. I also used the same set for the background.

Since it’s a quite simple card, it’s not much more to say about what I did ;) However, I have to brag this….TSG is going to have a new release on Saturday night and I’m so excited one of my Japanese stamping/blogging friend, Torico is release her designed stamps for the new release! Woohoo!! Please visit TSG blog to check out the sneak peek!!

Also, it’s 2 more weeks for the Color Throwdown 100th Challenge!! It’s going to be a big celebration and many sponsor companies will offer the giveaways for the event! Mark your calendar on July 7th and hopefully you are going to play along the 100th challenge with (present & past) Color Throwdown DT!! (FYI, I’m participating as a guest CTD DT for a month of July!, Yay!!)

Stamps: Domestic Goddess (TSG)
Paper: classic white (Flourishes), chocolate chip, mellow moss, brush blossom (SU)
Ink: Memento tuxedo black, rich cocoa (Tsukineko), Copic markers
Accessories: buttons, vintage twine

Weekend Quick Card – Jun 12th

SONY DSC

Hello everyone,

I hope your weekend is wonderful so far…I went to my husband’s family reunion today and had a wonderful visit. It’s great to catch up the family members at least once a year…I wish my family could do with my family once a year like that…I just need time and money at the same time, lol.

Anyway, my weekend was little busy so I decided to try some challenges with quickie cards :)

The first card (on top) is used the color combo from The Color Throwdown (CTD96) and combined with CAS-tastic Wednesday Challenge 7 (CWC007) – Create a CAS card using button.

The stamps are Kit of the Month from Unity Stamp Company (don’t know which month…but it’s one of my favorite KOM sets!) and I colored the flowers with Copic markers. I simply attached the yellow & blue small buttons.

Stamps: KOM set (Unity Stamp Co.
Paper: classic white (Flourishes), cool caribbean, pumpkin pie (SU)
Ink: Memento tuxedo black (Tsukineko) Copic markers
Accessories: buttons
Tools: label 1 Nestablities, border punch, Scor-Pal

SONY DSC

The next card was used the sketch from Clean & Simple Stamping (FTL93) and the color combination from Curtain Call Color Challenge (ACT33) . The both challenges were last week’s challenge and I’m a kind of catching up, lol.

The stamps are from all Stampin’ Up! I used the corner punches for the blue mat and the border punch for the sentiment strip. To complete the card, I embellished with pearls.

Stamps: Watercolor Trio, Kindred Sprit (SU)
Paper: classic white (Flourishes), bashful blue, certainly celery (SU)
Ink: bashful blue, certainly celery, night of navy (SU)
Accessories: pearls

Watercolor_Trio_1_edited

Hello eveyrone~

It’s been a wonderful weekend so far. My kiddos just finished their school year!!! Both of them did a excellent school year and I’m a super proud Mom :):) Now, we’ve enjoyed being relaxed, lol.  I just bought PSE 8 and have enjoyed playing some Actions, lol. Plus, I got a new craft book, “Kanzashi in Bloom” by Diane Gillerland…I love the flowers she shows in the book…I’m thinking making some of those for embellishments. I will let you know how they turn out when I experiment :)

OK, since my stamping MOJO’s been side-kicked, I decided to create a quick card. This card was used Color Throwdown challenge #93 (CTD93) and Fall to Layout 90 (FTL90) from Clean & Simple Stamping. (I just noticed the new FTL is up now…I guess I’m a little behind :p) I used Berry Sherbet color from PTI to alternate Melon Mambo.

I’m so glad I got this new stamp set from SU! It’s such a beautiful set and very versatile :)

Stamps: Watercolor Trio (SU)
Paper: classic white (Flourishes), baja breeze, pink pirouette (SU)
Ink:  baja breeze, pink pirouette (SU), berry sherbet (PTI)

Mojo134 & CTD88

Hello everyone~
It's been such beautiful days here in Texas. My kids started to swim in a pool a couple days ago...it's still too cold for me but they don't care, lol.

I made today's card with Mojo Monday sketch 134 (MOJO134) and Color Throwdown challenge 88 (CTD88) - tangerine tango, basic gray, so saffron/white. I've had Because of You set from Verve Stamps for a while and finally got to ink them :p

Speaking of the set, my daughter just started a card making blog with her cousin and their latest card was used. Will you check it out? Here is their blog: H and K Creations. They can get together only few times a month so it won't be updated often but if they know people are checking their blog, they will be so excited and make more cards ;)

OK, back to my card...I knew the retired SU designer papers would work for the sketch and the color combo!! The paper flowers were also made with the same papers and scallop circle punch.

Stamps: Because of You (Verve Stamps)
Paper: basic gray, so saffron, Haiku dp (SU), classic white (Flourishes)
Ink: basic gray, tangerine tango, so saffron (SU)
Accessories: ribbon, pearl brad
Tools: classic rectangle Nestabilities, scallop circle punch, scallop border punch

FTTC61 -- Bought It, Use It!!

Happy Tuesday everyone~
It is time for Flourishes Timeless Tuesday Challenge(FTTC61) ! This week Barbara Anders is our host! Barbara is challenging us to use the stuff we bought. A "bought it use it" challenge so to speak. Now, if you purchased some pretty embellishments and put them away for a very special card, or you got some fancy smancy tool/punch that you just had to have, or better yet, you bought a gorgeous pack of designer papers and you have yet to use a piece, this is YOUR challenge! Tear off those wrappers girls, if we bought it we are using it this week! You have our permission! We would love to see what you create with the stuff you bought!

I need to do this challenge personally more often, lol. Those embellishments and designer papers on the shelves are very pretty just looking at but I know they are much prettier if I use ;p My card was created with those items I had to have but I needed to use :)
The image from DIY Topiaries was stamped on the classic ivory mat that was cut using Big Scalloped Oval Nestabilities. Then I colored it with Copic markers. The flower part was layered with dimensional adhesives. The greeting was stamped using Taglines set. For the rest of the card, I used the designer papers are from Basic Gray Origins, scalloped edge ribbon, pearls, and and mini tea roses from Prima.

This card is also entered Mojo Monday Sketch challenge 133 (MOJO133) and the color combo is from Color Throwdown challenge 86 (CTD86)....I was too late to enter but the challenge was hosted by Barbara --Awesome color combo, Barbara!

Now, check out what the rest of FOF have created for the challenge!!

Stamps: DIY Topiaries, Taglines (Flourishes)
Paper: classic ivory (Flourishes), Origins dp (Basic Gray), dark chocolate (PTI)
Ink: Memento tuxedo black (Tsukineko), Copic markers - Y11, 13, 15, 17, G82, 94, 99, E25, 27, 97, W1, 3

TSG46 & CTD84

Happy Spring everyone~
I hope you are having a wonderful weekend. My kids are going to have Spring Break next week so I'm probably going to cut down my stamping time and enjoy spending a time with them.

Today's card is used the sketch from There She Goes challenge 46 (TSG46). I also combined the color combo from Color Throwdown (CTD84). I already wanted to use the set, Loads of Fun for the sketch and I thought the color combo would be great with the washer and dryer image :)
The image was colored with Copic markers. The sentiment says "Around here, 'Normal' is just a setting on the washing machine"... just like my house, lol.

Stamps: Loads of Fun (TSG)
Paper: tangeling tango, soft sky, white, black, SU retired dp
Ink:
Memento tuxedo black, soft sky, taken with teal, Copic markers, white gel pen
Accessaries: pearls, ribbon, button
Tools: Nestabilities, photo corner punch, CB embossing folder

KS Monday -- Color Throwdown!!

To see Flourishes Web Celebration post, please scroll down to the next post.
Thank you ~

Happy Monday and Kitchen Sink Monday, everyone~
I'm so excited to show you what I did for today's KS Monday!!
This Wednesday, our guest crew Tammy is going to host Color Throwdown challenge (CTD83) and Kitchen Sink Stamps is going to be the sponsor for the challenge! KS Crews got a little leak from Tammy and we got to play the challenge colors for this KS Monday, hee hee.

So if you see our creations and make your own, don't forget to link yours at the Color Throwdown blog on Wednesday :):) You will have a chance to win KSS gift certificate!

These are the colors Tammy has picked:
Marigold Morning, Wild Wasabi, Bermuda Bay and Melon Mambo

Here is my take...
To be honest, it was not the easy one to play :P but I really liked how my card was turned out and the colors are growing into me, lol.
I didn't have Melon Mambo or Bermuda Bay so I used Regal Rose and Taken with Teal or something close.
I used Multi Step Bitty Tulip Bouquet set to create the image and 3 Step Get Well Teddy set for the sentiment. I also found the great sketch from SCS Sketch challenge (SC270) to play.

These are the steps I did for each image (all inks are Memento unless mentioned):
(pink tulips) 1st - angel pink, 2nd -

Color Throwdown #73 and more

Hello everyone~
I'm so excited to know There She Goes is sponsoring Color Throwdown #73!! The lucky winner of the challenge will win one TSG stamp set of their choice! Make sure to enter your name and project on Mr. Linky of the challenge post for a chance to win!

So, what do you think about my card?? I had a lot fun making it, lol. They are bright, fun and bold all together! I combined There She Goes challenge 33 (TSG33) and SCS Sketch challenge 259 (SC259). TSG33 is hosted by the Trendsetter, Wendy and SC259 is hosted by another Trendsetter, Holly :):)
I started with stamping the snowflake images on the background panel using Stick Together. The polka dots mats from DCVW were already embossed and glittered (nice!). The always artichoke border was embossed using CB embossing folder and DTPed with white ink.
The main mat was created using Penguin Love. All images were colored with Copics and Stickles was added on the snow.

Stamps: Penguin Love, Stick Together (TSG)
Paper: cool caribbean, real red (SU), Bazzil cardstock, DCVW dp, classic white (Flourishes)
Ink: cool caribbean, real red, kiwi kiss, always artichoke (SU), Memento tuxedo black (Tsukineko), Copic markers
Accessories: ribbons, rhinestones

Tools: Nestabilities, CB embossing folder

Here is what happened today....
I was planning to post this card earlier but School called me that my son was sick so I had to pick him up early. He was at home the last 2 days and he looked fine this morning...so I sent him to school....bad judgement of mine :( So after I got him, I took him to the clinic. The doctor told me he got ear & throat infection...yikes! I'm just glad this happened this week, not next week ;) He has a plenty time to rest before the big day coming :):)

Well, that's all from me. Thank you for stopping by.
