As you can see, these are phone pictures because using my camera is a bit of a hassle these days. I took these in my bathroom because I like how it makes my skin look versus my ring light or other types of lighting. It makes my skin look smooth and you can see the highlight. You can also see the metallic shimmer of my eyeshadow a lot better here. These photos are unedited, I just uploaded them from my phone. I haven't played with makeup for fun in a long time, and I've barely used these palettes since I got them months ago, so it was really nice to do this look and I'm really happy with how it turned out.
These eyeshadow palettes are all awesome. I was particularly amazed by the Electric Obsessions; to be honest I didn't even care about the shimmery shades in the palette; I got it mainly for the matte bright colors like the pinks and orange. After using them though, I'm blown away by how gorgeous, pigmented, and nice to work with these shimmer shadows are. I want to do more looks based around these eyeshadows. I will just issue a disclaimer though that the pink did stain my eyelids; not terribly but enough to be noticeable. I didn't use any kind of base or primer underneath so maybe that would help. I'll try using a base next time.
I was upset to see though that this palette doesn't seem to be available online anywhere, so I don't know if it was discontinued or what. Why do they always discontinue the good stuff? :(

What do you think of this look? Do you own any of these palettes? Do you want to? Let me know!

Look: Electric Faerie

A sizzling summery look featuring warm purple eyes and electric orange lips.

I've had these photos trapped on my camera for over a month now, and only just got them off because a friend gave me a card reader to use. Thank goodness it worked! My computer software updated and somehow my computer now refuses to "speak" with my Canon camera. All my technology is one step away from totally outdated... but that's another story.

Anyway, here's a look I had in mind for a while, though of course it turned out nothing like what I imagined. I wanted smoky, warm purple eyes with a bright orangey lip. Keep scrolling if you want details!

Products:
Face/Cheeks:
-The Ordinary High Adherance Silicone Primer
-Wet n Wild PhotoFocus foundation in Shell Ivory, applied heavily with Real Techniques sponge
-Maybelline Fit Me concealer in Fair, mostly under eyes
-Some powder, can't remember
-NYX Taupe blush (contour)
-Darling Girl blush in Neon Trees
-BFTE Cosmetics eyeshadow in Moonlight as highlight
Eyes:
-Urban Decay Primer Potion
-Darling Girl Glitter Glue
-Darling Girl eyeshadow in Fire Faerie
-Matte purple and tan from BH Cosmetics Zodiac palette
-Darling Girl eyeshadow in Chimera on tearduct
-Wet n Wild (new) Nude Awakening eyeshadow palette, matte ivory
-Maybelline black gel liner
-Essence #Lashes of the Day Super Volume mascara
-BFTE Cosmetics eyeshadow in Moonlight as highlight
  Brows:
-Wet n Wild (new) Nude Awakening eyeshadow palette, medium matte brown
Lips:
-Maybelline Vivid Lipstick in Electric Orange

This look turned out ok I guess. I wish I'd used a darker purple on my outer corner; the purple I used wasn't quite dark enough. I'd originally pictured a more neon orange-red lipstick, but I wanted to use this new one I'd ordered. I still love the Maybelline Vivids line, I wear them all the time, often in combination with my beloved Wet n Wild Balm Stains. I do think it's warm and bright and summery, which I guess was the goal.
I think it turned out a bit 80s rock star, which is kind of awesome too :)

Look: Zodiac+Stila

A sultry look featuring berry eyes and three different lipcolors!

I did this look back around Valentine's day but wasn't sure I wanted to post it or not. It didn't turn out as well as I wanted, but as often happens, weeks later it doesn't seem as bad as I thought, lol.
I used assorted shadows from my BH Cosmetics Zodiac palette, and a sample of Stila Color Balm lipsticks with three different shades.
Keep scrolling for lots of pics and product details!

The first lipcolor I tried was a nude shade called Jessie:

Next shade was a medium warmish pink called Aubrey:

The last color I used was a plum burgundy called Elyssa:

Products:
Face/Cheeks:
-The Ordinary High Adherance Silicone Primer
-Wet n Wild PhotoFocus foundation in Shell Ivory, applied heavily with Real Techniques sponge
-Maybelline Fit Me concealer in Fair, mostly under eyes
-Some powder, can't remember
-Some contour, can't remember
-Tarte Amazonian Clay blush in Paaarty
-Urban Decay eyeshadow in Virgin as highlight
Eyes:
-Urban Decay Primer Potion Original
-Matte shades from BH Cosmetics Zodiac palette
-Wet n Wild (new) Nude Awakening eyeshadow palette, matte ivory
-Kat von D Trooper liquid liner
-Maybelline Push-Up Drama mascara (not a fan)
-Ardell Demi Wispies
-Urban Decay Naked Basics palette "Venus" browbone highlight (I think)
 - Brows:
-Urban Decay Naked Ultimate Basics "Blackjack" eyeshadow
Lips:
-Stila Color Balm lipsticks in Jessie(nude), Aubrey(pink), and Elyssa(plum)

Sorry I can't quite remember every product I used but I'm sure it was all the usuals. I used an assortment of matte berries and purples on my eyes, as well as the peachy tan shade to blend it out. I used the matte cool purple on my lids but it's hard to see except in the close-up shots. I used the baked Virgo pink shimmer on the centers of my eyelids to create a little spotlight effect, and the baked Gemini silver shimmer shade on my tearducts as a highlight. I frigging love this palette!

As for the lipcolors, these are nice pigmented balms. I liked all the colors but my faves were the pink and the plum. Hard to say which I liked more; I think they both went really well with this look. Of course the plum shade was just a tad harder to work with since it's a dark shade. Like all dark shades, especially glossy ones, it took extra work to get it to look even, but not terrible.

Have you tried the Zodiac palette yet? What about these Color Balms? Which shade do you like the most? Let me know :)

Look: Acid Valentine

A sizzling electric look featuring neon lemon and lime eyes and contrasting purple lips.

For a few days I've felt like doing another neon look, and since I've already done blue/red/orange lately, I decided to do yellow and green with some purple lips. Everyone loves purple and green together, right?
Since it was Valentine's Day yesterday, I made this a cool Anti-Valentine's Day type look since I'm single and maybe slightly bitter ;)
Products:
Face/Cheeks:
-The Ordinary High-Spreadability Fluid Primer
-Wet n Wild PhotoFocus foundation in Shell Ivory, applied heavily with Real Techniques sponge
-Maybelline Fit Me concealer in Fair, mostly under eyes
-Some old Prestige mineral pressed powder
-NYX powder contour kit (cheekbones)
-Darling Girl Cosmetics blush in Racy Raspberry
-Urban Decay Naked Basics "Venus" to highlight
Eyes:
-Urban Decay Primer Potion Original
-Sleek Acid palette yellow, green, and black shades
-Wet n Wild (new) Nude Awakening eyeshadow palette, matte ivory
-Naked Ultimate Basics palette "Nudie" on inner part of crease
-Maybelline Push-Up Drama mascara (not a fan)
-Ardell Demi Wispies
-Urban Decay Naked Basics palette "Venus" (tearduct and browbone highlight)
- Brows:
-Urban Decay Naked Ultimate Basics "Blackjack" eyeshadow
Lips:
-NYX Macaron Lipstick in Violet

I originally wanted to do a purple on my waterline so I tried with the purple shadow from the acid palette, but it just wasn't really showing up well, and then it got all muddied by the black eyeshadow anyway, so I ended up just going over it with black.
This was probably the most haphazard look I've done in a long time; I was actually kinda proud, lol. Normally I can spend 4-5 hours on these makeup-for-fun looks, but I think I did this one in under 2 hours. There were things I normally would have changed or fixed, but decided not to.
I like it overall, though the lipstick is a little uneven because it was sooooo creamy; it was difficult to get it to apply evenly and look good around my lipline. I really wanted a cooler purple for the lips though and this one was the perfect shade! I think it really pops off the neon green and yellow.

I also want to say that I didn't edit the colors of these photos at all. My Canon Rebel shooting in RAW does an amazing job of capturing colors as they truly appear. These shadows would have looked even more searingly neon had I used a white base, but I don't really have one. I should repurchase NYX Milk Pencil since I threw mine away a long time ago. I stopped using bases like that because I didn't like how they emphasized the texture on my lids, and could also make shadows look dusty or cakey.

Anyway, I hope everyone had a nice holiday with loved one(s).

Look: Purple Sand

Hay thar, long time no see! I'm starting off this New Year with a brand new Diva Ring Super Nova ring light, courtesy of my awesome brother who apparently felt like spoiling his family for Christmas. I'm still getting the hang of photographing with the light and editing the photos and everything but so far I'm loving it.

I have a new look using my new ring light, plus a new Morphe palette which was also a Christmas gift from my sisters; it's the Morphe 35P, aka Plum palette and it's awesome. Keep scrolling for more pics and product info, and don't forget the pics will magically get bigger when you click them ;)

  Products:
Face/Cheeks:
- About Face Velvet Gel Primer from Darling Girl Cosmetics
-Wet n Wild Coverall Foundation and powder in lightest shade
-Darling Girl Koalification blush* for contour
-Darling Girl Aloha blush on cheeks
-Darling Girl Neon Trees blush on cheeks
-Urban Decay Venus as highlight
Eyes/Brows:
-Jesse's Girl eyeshadow primer* (from Ipsy bag)
-Morphe eyeshadow palette, 15-light peach and 29-warm brown shades in crease, 28-vibrant purple on lids
-BFTE Cosmetics eyeshadow in Whisper patted on center of lids and tearduct
-Urban Decay W.O.S. shadow from Naked Basics palette to blend out edges
-Venus as highlight on browbone and tearduct
-Wet n Wild gel eyeliner in Black
-Covergirl Super Sizer mascara*
-Halloween lashes from Five Below
-Crave eyeshadow from Naked Basics palette on brows (deepest matte brown/black)
Lips:
-Wet n Wild Mega Last lipstick in Mochalicious
-Wet n Wild Mega Last lipstick in Bare It All
-Some lip gloss, I forget what I used :P

A cell phone pic of Mochalicious lipstick; after I took pics I wiped off the combination and applied Mochalicious by itself for a darker neutral lip. Not sure which I like better?

The shadows in this palette are awesome, especially that purple, HELLO BABY! It's easily one of the best, if not THE best purple eyeshadow I've ever used. Pigmented and vibrant, I know I'll get tons of use from this in future.
Also, I meant to do a black waterline but as usual, I forgot. ;P

That second-to-last pic makes me come to terms with the fact that my features are NOT symmetrical, lol. However, I'm trying to branch out and experiment a little with different angles and expressions. Anyway, it was nice to do a real makeup look since it's been so long. I have another I will post soon too, after I finish editing the photos. Can't wait to show you :)

Look and video: Neutral Purple Pop

Hey everyone! Today I'm bringing you not only a blog post with a new look, but also a video tutorial! I was home alone for a day and decided to take the make the most of it and make a video, lol. I hope you like it!
The look I did is neutral-ish eyes with a pop of purple on lips and cheeks; the featured products are Ladyhawke duochrome eyeshadow and Purple Haze blush by Darling Girl Cosmetics, and MAC Violetta lipstick. Keep scrolling for pics, details, and the video!

Click the pics!
The video is available in 1080 HD; I don't know how to make this thumbnail bigger so you can either watch in Fullscreen mode or click the Youtube link to open it in a new window :)
Products:
 Face/Cheeks:
-Darling Girl About Face Velvet Gel Primer
-Wet n Wild Coverall foundation in lightest shade
-loose setting powder
-Darling Girl blushes in Koalification* (to contour) and Purple Haze
-Milani eyeshadow in Bella Ivory* to highlight
Eyes/Brows:
-Lime Crime Eyeshadow Helper*
-Maybelline 24hr Color Tattoo in Bad to the Bronze on lids as base
-Darling Girl Cosmetics eyeshadow in Ladyhawke (light taupe with gold/blue/green shift on lids)
-Darling Girl Cosmetics eyeshadow in Kilt-y Pleasures (milk chocolate brown matte on outer/inner corners and crease)
-Wet n Wild "Walk the Red Carpet" palette (glittery gold shade patted on center of lid)
-Urban Decay Naked Basics palette W.O.S to blend out edges and Crave as liner
-theBalm eyeshadow in Matt Gallagher in crease
-Darling Girl Cosmetics eyeshadow in Adoration to highlight
-Milani Bella Ivory* as highlight
-Wet n Wild gel eyeliner in Black(tightline)
-Prestige My Blackest Lashes mascara
-Princess lashes* from Born Pretty Store
-theBalm eyeshadow in Presto and Urban Decay eyeshadow in Naked2 on brows
-Sonia Kashuk concealer quad
Lips:
-MAC Violetta lipstick sample from The Body Needs
-Maybelline limited edition lipgloss in Mirrored Plum

I really hate the false lashes but I used them because I have a whole box of them and I don't want them to go to waste, lol. Other than that, I like how this turned out. The duo/shimmer in Ladyhawke shows up mostly goldish because I didn't use it over Glitter Glue, and because I used gold glittery shadow over top; in person the green and blue shift was more visible. It's a really pretty eyeshadow, a taupe with a twist! ;)
I love Purple Haze blush! If you're looking for a wearable purple blush you should give it a try; it is red/pink-toned so it's still wearable, but use a very light hand and blend it well because this blush is super pigmented. I love it and I'm so glad I got to use it for this look.
If you watch my video, please leave a comment here or on Youtube and let me know what you think! I'm still new at this, lol.

Look: DarlingGirl "Tati-Too Who"

This is my look from Sunday; I wanted to use one of the new Darling Who colors so I went for Tati-Too Who, a gorgeously sparkly metallic copper shade. Keep reading for the details!

Please pardon my un-fulled brows; I was in a hurry to leave for church and wanted to make sure I got pics before I had to leave. Rest assured that I did fill them before finally running out the door. xD
 Products:
 Face/Cheeks:
-Darling Girl About Face Velvet Gel Primer
-Belleme BB Cream in Ivory and Nude Beige
-loose setting powder
-Darling Girl blush in Koalification* to contour
-Darling Girl blush in Neon Trees
-Milani eyeshadow in Bella Ivory* to highlight
Eyes:
-Lime Crime Eyeshadow Helper*
-Darling Girl Water Color Paint Pot in Concrete Rose all over lids as base
-Tati-Too Who* eyeshadow on lids
-Adoration eyeshadow to blend out edges
-Milani Bella Ivory* as highlight
-theBalm eyeshadow in Matt Gallagher (from Meet Matte palette) in crease
-Ulta gel eyeliner in Plum
-Wet n Wild gel eyeliner in Black (upper tightline)
-Prestige My Blackest Lashes mascara
Lips:
-NYX Slim Lip Pencil in Nude Pink
-Maybelline Color Whisper in Lust For Blush
-NYX Mega Shine Gloss in Dolly Pink on center of lips

This was my first time using Concrete Rose WPP and I really like it. For me, a good base is essential to keep my eyeshadow fresh on my hooded oily lids. I am always afraid when trying a new base that it will crease horribly on my horrible lids, but this didn't. It behaved pretty much like my usual bases over my usual primer, which is great! I love the pink sparkles, which only adds to the beauty of any shadow you choose to put over it.
Tati-Too Who is such a gorgeous sparkly shadow; it's a shiny "new penny" kind of copper color with a tinge of pink to it, and pink sparkles! So pretty. I didn't even use it over Glitter Glue for this look and it was still so metallic and gorgeous. I will have swatches of each color from the new collection posted soon, I can't wait to show you how great they are! Or, you could just go buy the collection now because who likes waiting, anyway? ;)
