VIDEO POST: Summer's Beauty Misses

It's time for the second and final part of our summer beauty miniseries:  the beauty "misses".  This little video features a small number of products that didn't quite live up to Ling's or my expectations.

 I'm going to go ahead and admit it though:  I was a little harsh in my impressions of the Evodia body mist and I'm backpedalling a little now.  I've discovered it does linger quite well on my skin as long as I've moisturised first! Let that be a lesson learnt.  Yes, I've got a little disclaimer in the video too...

VIDEO POST: The Beauty Diet update (AKA pan hitting extravaganza!)

 

 

Hi again!

 

Long time no video, I know.  Ling and I did attempt a filming session during the Christmas season but it was aborted due a non-cooperative video camera which left us snarling all over the place!  Of course things got all busy and chaotic and we haven't had any opportunities lately to get together for an on camera chat since then.  In the meantime I decided to trial my DSLR camera for videos and then figured why not make one to upload? Hmm, well.

VIDEO POST: Hourglass No. 28 Lip Treatment Oil review

 

 Hourglass No. 28 Lip Treatment Oil has been on my wish list for several months as I was very keen to try this product with its impressive claims of soothing and anti-aging properties (An anti-aging product for my lips? Yes please!) and its equally impressive ingredient list as sourced from the Hourglass Cosmetics website:

• 14 essential oils: Bois De Rose, Lavender, Geranium, Petitgrain, Lemon, Rosemary, Vanilla, Clove, Amyris, Orange, Ylang Ylang, Eucalyptus, Cedar and Rose Geranium.

• 10 lipid-rich plant oils: Hazelnut, Kukui Nut, Rose Hip, Borage, Olive, Green Tea, Cherry Pit, Sweet Almond, Jojoba, and Evening Primrose.

• 4 Vitamins: A, B5, C and E

 

Did it impress me?

 

Yes. Actually a resounding yes to the point of me putting it out there that I think this is going to be one of those cult beauty products. If you want to find out more watch my video review...



 

One significant thing I forgot to mention in the video is this lip treatment is free of parabens, phthalates, sulfates, synthetic dyes and petroleum derivatives.

VIDEO POST: A rant about discontinued products

 

After a bit of a brainwave session over a Chinese dumpling lunch - the dumplings were obviously mind blowing!!! - my wonderful friend Ling aka Sixinchheel and I decided to take the plunge and start making some YouTube videos as a joint adventure! *gulp* 

 

It gives us a chance to chat, laugh and share our thoughts with you via yet another form of social media!  I feel like I've come a long way over the past few years and this was the last mountain to climb. I'm not getting any younger so it was a case of do it NOW or NEVER!! Ling has the advantage of youth so she wasn't as panicked as me!
