Just One tiny Stamp..

Hi! Thanks to Julia for filling in for me last week. This week I'm championing little things.. or more precisely.. the little stamps.
Those ones that aren't always exciting enough to be a focus of themselves.
Take this card, I thought I'd use the spoons from the Lawn Fawn set..Baked With Love
I stamped lots of spoons and coloured them in with alcohol markers. Then I pierced the tops & threaded some cotton through.
I love creating what I've named 'chandelier' cards- so very easy.
Just a length of sturdy acetate, measured so its longer than the gap you'll fill. Measure two slits where you want to insert the acetate & fold the strip at either end (leaving enough either side to glue down at the back).
Slot in the acetate and secure at the back. Now you just want to suspend the hanging elements from some washi (or double sided tape) and secure onto the acetate curve.
Just decorate and you're done.
Yeah, I know it would be tricky fitting into an envelope. You could always create a square version that would fold flat, but I think this shape is lots of fun and you could always send it in a little box.

It would look amazing on a bigger card with lots of the cooking items dangling down. I wanted to keep it simple- I thought the spoons looked a little like hanging balloons!

Hope you have fun creating a 3D card,
See you next week,

Smile!

Smile!..It's Tuesday. Hope you're all having a good day so far!
I really like clean and graphic type stamps, or the occasional cute one. I've not ventured into the sketchy ones so much but this one took my eye by Avery Elle called 'Smile'!
So many possibilities- and I love the line across which is perfect for cutting with your craft knife and adding a picture or phrase. I just added the happy birthday as it's for a very special girl I know!
I've cut out the lens, added the stamped image onto a separate piece of card & adhered to the back of the trimmed out camera. Then I stamped it again, trimmed out the frame, added some acetate (which amazingly you can't see, and normally there's an annoying reflection in!) and added to the card with 3D foam pads.
I've added little dots and dashes to bring the images to life a little & that's it- pretty plain and simple!

Do have a nosey around the store- Tara has done an amazing restocking and a wave to you all if you've popped over from Craft Stamper.. good to see some new stamp lovers!!

See you next week,

3D Tweeting!

Hi! Thought I'd do a little 3D card. I'm using the Newton's Nook set 'Tweet Talk'
It's hard to see that the top bird is actually coming out from the card. The way I've bent it means that it could still be folded up and popped into an envelope; it's kind of a step shape or straighter 'z'. The other birds and sentiment are simply attached to thin strips of acetate, adhered to the frame shape & then the frame is added to the card using 3D foam pads.
The background paper is the Hello Sunshine 'Lawn Fawn' paper pad which should be back in stock in soon. In the meanwhile, check out the rest of the Newton's Nook designs here
Hope you've enjoyed something a little different! I'm flying off to do some more crafting..hard life!!

See you next Tuesday!

3D Rustic Spring

Following on from the Mama Elephant challenge that Tara mentioned, I too have prepped a card that would suit the challenge. Despite the inspiration photo being really pink, fluffy and sparkly, I've pared it back to the basic elements- the pink, a touch of sparkle and the pearls/gems
I love that you can be inspired by one photo and have a totally different response to it. I wanted to add a really 3D element to my project- and on the main pic you can't really tell the dimension, so here's a close-up. The substantial stacked 3D foam pads were showing a little, so that's why I added a small piece of pink glitter to hide the 'struts'.

We're so very close to opening..hold on for a tiny bit longer! Can you smell the polymer from here?!!
