My favourite things of 2015

Hello.
Its my turn to share my favourite things for 2015.
Its no secret that i have the biggest craft crush on anything Winnie and Walter.
Which made it especially difficult to choose between sets.
I  went with In bloom Addies garden.
I have used this set a lot and i don't think i could ever get bored with it.
Whether its water colouring embossing you can always change how each image looks making it so very versatile.

In Bloom: Addie's Garden

Second up on my favourites is Gleeful gardens from Lawn fawn.
I love this set so much.
Although it has really simple images you an really pack a punch by layering them up changing the colours or making scenes.
They are great for decorating enveloped for crafty friends too.
Soo many options.

Gleeful Gardens

Third  and this was tough to just stop here lol ....but its Newtons Christmas cuddles stamp set.
I have always been a cat person so the newtons cats stamps really are just perfect.
I love this set in particular it has such sweet images and can be used any time not just for Christmas.

Newton's Christmas Cuddles

I hope you enjoyed seeing my fave three things from this year.
If i was gonna be naughty and share a fourth it would be this and this and this honestly that counts as one :) ...just saying.
Thanks so much for looking and i hope you all have  a very merry Christmas.

Winter penguins

Hello.
I have given in and started my Christmas crafting lol.
Its not such a chore though and these tags were fun to make.

I have used Lawn fawns Tag you're it die set  along with the grassy border die and mini snowflakes dies.
The penguin is a mini set  called winter penguin.
I dies cut the tags from black card and added the snowflakes that i had die cut from some teal glitter card I then decided i wanted some icicles so i used the grassy border die with the same glitter card and just used it upside down.
I coloured the penguin with copics and added to the tag with some foam tape.

Hammy birthday to you

 Hello.
Today i have made two very different cards using the Lawn Fawn Wheelie like you set.

Firstly this shaker birthday card.
Its my daughters birthday tomorrow and she has a hamster and has been after me to make something with this set so "Edward" her hamster is my inspiration.

I dies cut and stamped 12 hamsters to fill the shaker. i coloured them random colours so that the one on the wheel stood out more.

Next up a much simpler hamster card.
I used distress inks on my card base then used the Gingham backdrop stamp just spritzed with water it gives a very subtle effect.
I have coloured the hamster with copics to look like "Edward".

Hello September!

Hello! and how did it finish being summer already? In honour of it being September, I thought I'd do a fall/autumn inspired card using several different Lawn Fawn sets.
The background was created by using the Louie's 123's dies. I added the dies onto the card blank, saved the insides of the numbers & added a layer of acetate behind the front to which I added the insides of the 6,8,9 & 4.

The little bird is courtesy of this lovely set. I've not inked up the bird before, but I wanted the idea of the bird perching on a tree which was shedding its leaves (or hearts in this case!)

To get the tiny hearts, I used the dies from the Hello Baby die set; there are two different sized hearts- they may be tiny, but are ever so useful!

The little tree is, in fact from the Into The Woods set, but as that's out of stock- and there's THIS yummy new set instead (which is winging its way to me as I type, but didn't make it here in time for me to create this project!!). The trees here would be great, just trimmed down slightly.

That's quite enough flannel for me.. I'm starting to think of warming casseroles and steamed puddings, and hot water bottles and a roaring fire...oh wait..that's an advert..I don't have an open fire!! Meanwhile, I hope you don't have to put away your sandals just yet ;-)

See you next week,

Come to my Ice Cave!

Hey! from a cold and windy Tuesday!
Thought I'd echo the weather with this little 'Ice Cave' scene. You know, the ones where walkers unexpectedly fall down into whilst walking along snowy mountains. I've used an alcohol and dye ink technique for the background & there's more on how to do that on my blog.

I've suspended the 'icicle snowflakes' on blue embroidery thread so they help give a bit more dimension to the card & popped the little seal up on a icy rock to add more perspective. I know we haven't much in the way of snow here- but there are parts of the UK with some and certainly in other parts of the world there's plenty. If you walked into my house at the moment, you'd be forgiven for thinking you were in fact in an ice cave.

It's only a quick post- it's half term and it's a little 'frosty' in parts of this house too ;-)

See you next week,

Sit! HEEL! Stay!

Hello!
Lou here back with another of those accordion album cards (oh my,I do love this die!). The title is in both reference to the stamps used and the method needed to wrangle this card together lol. This one is a birthday card for my daughters BFF,who,I was informed, happens to love dogs with a passion so I thought this was a great opportunity to pull out that awesome new stamp set and matching dies from Lawn Fawn "Critters at the dog park" ,plus a bit of twine and the Lawn Fawn "Daphne's Closet" petite paper pad,one happy birthday girl :-)
Hope you like it!

Lou

Congrats

Hello.

Today I'm showing of some Lawn fawn.

These stamps are just so versatile and have really fun images.

Ive used all new lawn fawn sets on this card.

Quinns ABC

School house backdrops

Blissfull botanicals.

These are all available to buy from here.
I kept this very simple by stamping onto the card.

The flowers were stamped separately and cut out .

This card also uses Quinns ABC and also happily ever after.

I stamped the letters straight onto the card and filled them in with stickles.

The glasses were stamped and coloured with pro markers before i added them to the card as i didn't want the ink to bleed through.

Thanks for looking.

Love You!

This post might be reaching you a little later than normal, but Emily is busy sorting through some exciting new stamp sets that will be available from Make The Day Special very soon!!!

So, this is just a quick post from me to show you how a simple stamp from Sophie's Sentiments finishes off a card perfectly. The writing script used in this set is just wonderful - it seems to work well for every type of card.

And, what I've found recently is that if you ink the set lightly the script will appear very delicate when stamped, but ink the stamp heavily and roll it very slightly while stamping and the script looks a little bit chunkier. Awesome!

Have a lovely summer evening folks x

Simple Saturday

Since my cardmaking breakthrough last week, I've been embracing the 'clean and simple' with the help of the Sophie's Sentiments stamp set. Who would have thought that a simple (though lovely) little sentiment set could change the way I feel about cardmaking?

Happy Birthday Card

I've made a few this morning, but this one's my favourite. I stamped directly onto my ribbon using Stazon - no bleeding of the ink! Hurrah!

Have a good weekend folks x

Clean & Simple Card Making

Just popping in to show off a little card I made for one of my bestest friends this week. She's had a little girl and I felt that something appropriately pink and pretty was in order.

I'm still developing my style as a cardmaker, but I am finding that 'clean and simple' seems to work well for me, so I kept it simple and used my new Sophie's Sentiments set.

Clean & Simple

This one sentiment actually uses three stamps from the set, but there's lots of ways the sentiments in the set can be combined and they're extremely easy to line up correctly. A couple of additional embellishments and I was done.

Simple. And...um...clean :)

Thinking Of You!

My new sets of stamps from Make The Day Special arrived this week, don't you just love good mail days? I swooned a little when I opened them!

Thinking Of You Main

Today I'm sharing just one of the projects I've used them on this week - a little card for my sister who's a bit fed up with being ill and off work. A 'Get Well Soon' card didn't seem appropriate but, luckily, the Sophie's Sentiments set from Lawn Fawn has something that will work for almost any card.

Thinking Of You

I've used the 'Thinking Of You' sentiment, along with one of the stamps from the Naturally You set - which is just peeking out behind the embellishments. (This set is only available in stores, so snap yours up and be the envy of all your friends!) So simple, but oh so lovely.
