3 little bears

Hello.
Just because something masculine doesn't mean it cant be cute to.
These bears from Lawn fawns party animals are perfect as a card for kids for their dad.

I stamped the bears in archival black ink onto watercolour card then coloured with Inktense pencils and a water brush.
Once coloured and dried i cut the panel to fit my card base that was already covered with beach side papers and used the new stitched borders dies from lawn fawn to add some extra detail.

I kept the sentiment super simple with the fun Owen's abc also from lawn fawn with their matching die cuts.
Once everything was put together i added some lawn fawn twine to finish.

Adventures in Kraft

Hello.
After my krafty Christmas card last week i ventured into kraft tags this week.
I loved making these very easy gift tags .
These are going on my children's main Christmas presents.

I used some shop bought kraft tags and simply heat embossed in gold some of the smaller images from Lawn fawn Let it snow stamp set.
Once they were all done i die cut one each of their initials from gold card using lawn fawns abc dies and pierced a small hole and attached some jump rings.
I  fixed it to the tag using some gold lawn fawn twine.

I plan to add some  home made charms to these also just haven't had the time.
You could add beads or shrink plastic as in Tara's post here.
Although the let it snow stamp set is out of stock you can use any smaller stamp images to create the same look.

Enjoy the show part 2

Hello I'm back today with two more cards using the paper smooches stamp set Enjoy the show.
Yesterdays card were bold and bright and went with the obvious theme of the set.
Today i am showing two very different looks.
My first card above uses the circle stamps from the set to create the Bokeh effect.
Which was done by simply stamping the circles in 3 shades, two blues and one white.
I used the Balloon dies with glitter card and some Silver twine..
I stamped and heat embossed the sentiment  from Happy birthday in silver.
I finished by adding some teeny tiny rhinestones.

This card uses the elephant from the set for a baby card.
Simply coloured softly using copics and layered with some patterned paper.
I added some dots of liquid pearls randomly on the paper.
The sentiment is from salutations.

Happy winter

Hello.
I have been having a play with Into the woods from Lawn Fawn.
This little guy sold out very quickly but this idea will work with almost any lawn fawn stamps.
I started by die cutting the panel using the Stitched journalling card ....i can see this getting a lot of use :)
I then kept the die on the card once cut and stamped the wood panel from Wood grain backdrops ...you all  snapped that one up super quick too lol.
I stamped in Sahara sand and then sponged some of the same ink around the edges.
I then used some of the new Gold sparkle Lawn trimmings and wrapped it around the card three times and tied a bow.
I stamped the little critter onto Sahara sand card and once cut out sponged the same ink around to give some shading.
For the ears i used a pink copic pen to add some colour and then a white gel pen added some dots on his back.
The Snow flakes are from Critters in the snow, they are heat embossed in neon blue on vellum and i added a little sparkle for the centres.
Thanks for looking.

Now for something a little different

Hello.
On Tuesday i said i would be back with something different and here it is.
A Lawn Fawn bracelet.
These are surprisingly quick and easy to make.
Your also not just limited to a bracelet as they can be made as key chains and more.

This is the finished bracelet.

Here is what you will need to make one.
Patterned paper i have used Lawn Fawn.
Twine, again i have used Lawn Fawn's Lawn trimmimgs.
Buttons
Glue...any will be fine.
A BBQ skewer
Nail top coat/hardener.

To start the beads you will need to cut your patterned paper in to strips these are purely your choice.
I used long thin triangles.
You need to wind around the skewer securing at places with your glue.

Once that is finished and the glue has dried cover the bead with your clear nail varnish and allow to dry thoroughly....this may need a second coat.

You will have lots ready in no time at all :)
Now onto the the string part.

Now the picture above shows how you start.
You will need 2 or 3 long pieces of twine.
Double one so that it goes around your wrist and then some more.
I have used one extra long piece of twine, you mark the half way point and lay it under the part measured for your wrist.
Then tie a knot. Any knot will be fine.
Making sure you leave a loop as this will be important for securing the bracelet when worn.
I then took the twine on the right sight and put it over the middle two.
the left side twine then goes over under and over before tightening.
You continue this ( ...it is easier to use two different colours for each side.) only ever taking the same bit of twine over the top.
So the right hand side will become the left hand side after the first time but still take it over the top for the next time.
You will know if you have taken the wrong piece of twine as the bracelet will start to twist and will not be flat.
I hope that all make sense.
Carry on until you want to add your beads.

Adding the beads is really simple.
When you get to where you want the bead to be simply thread each piece of twine through the side its on.
Pull tight to secure and carry on .

It will soon start to look like this.
To finish this i just used a button which goes through the loop created at the start.
I had so many ideas when making these i wanted to stamp lawn fawn images on to shrink plastic to make it a charm bracelet for my daughter.....but where is the shrink plastic when you need it lol.
Please note that this is not waterproof the beads wont like getting wet at all.

I used Lawn Fawns
Lemon Single Twine
Lemon twine

Pink Lemonade Single Twine
Pink lemonade twine

Pink Lemonade Petite Paper Pack
Pink lemonade and Daphne's closet paper pads.

All Lawn Fawn products used can be found right here.
I hope you enjoyed this (long) post and have a go at making some of these :)

Reach for the sky

Hello.
My card for today uses Lawn fawns Sunny skies.
As the UK is back to being grey after out fabulous bank holiday weather i wanted to make something bright and cheery.
In the end i didn't even use the fun sun image from this set,
Instead i paper pieced the kite and birds with lawn fawns brightside petite paper pad and Daphne's closet paper pad.
I made the cloudy background using a punched scallop circle  a light blue inkpad and a sponge dauber
I used some Lemon lawn trimmings for the kite string.

Lawn fawn Pop up card tutorial

Hello.
I have wanted to make a pop up card for a while and thought for my first try at making one i would share how i made it.
I hope i have made it clear enough.

Start with two pieces of card.
One plain card stock one patterned paper.
Both the same size.
Score to make your card base...both pieces.

Hopefully the picture explains how to score and cut.
You will only score and cut the plain card stock.

 It should like this inside.....

 And like this when folded.

Add double sided tape, be careful not to add any to the centre bit that's been score and cut.
Then stick together with your patterned paper.

Now choose your stamps and decorate the inside.

This is my finished card on the front I have kept it quite simple.

The inside, all popped up and 3d.
I have used all lawn fawn stamps.
Sets used are...
Let it snow and Critters in the snow, These are both out of stock ....But more are on the way.
This would also work well with Making frosty friends.
I also used .....
Thanks for looking.

Let it snow

Hello.
We are getting very christmasy here at make the day special.
I have used Let it snow from Lawn fawn....
And Lawn trimmings for my card.

The card was very simple to make.
I made the background by lightly sponging some blue ink for a moon effect.
Then i used the snowy background stamp with stickles.
You don't get the star shapes though.
Here is a closer picture, its very difficult picking up the sparkle.
Emily has got lots of new Christmas stamps and matching dies from Wplus9 here.
Thanks for looking.

A Brightside Jotter Pad!!

Good Morning ...

YAY..... it's the first weekend of the summer holidays which meant this week I have been making gifts for my lads teachers, being a special needs class he has three members of staff to make gifts for.

I had bought three of the shopping list jotter pads and wanted to give them a decorative cover so I used the Lawn Fawn Brightside Collection papers for one of them.....

I took some photos whilst I was making the cover...apologies for the quality of some of the shots, my craftroom doesn't have the best light for photography :0)

To make the cover rigid I used thick card board (the sort you find on the back of A4 refill pads)
The pads were 7x21cm so I made the front and back panels 9x21cm and the spine 14mmx21cm

I chose my patterned paper from the 12x12 Brightside pack and stuck the card down like so....the gap between the three pieces should be as wide as the thickness of the card you're using :0)
Trim around the piece leaving yourself at least a 12mm border.

This is how I trimmed the paper so as to fold in the edges neatly..... remember those days of covering your exercise books at school!!!

I used a contrasting paper to line the cover which I cut about 3mm smaller all round.
To glue it down only apply tape or glue around the four edges of the lining piece otherwise you will have trouble with buckling paper when it comes to closing your cover...... don't ask me how I know that *wink*

When it comes to closing and bending your cover you need to ease the paper into the folds with a bone folder gently and help the lining paper crease.

I made two strips by folding a piece of the paper three times for strength. These held the back of the notepad in place whilst allowing it to be removed and replaced at a later date.
I also incorporated a loop of ribbon in the lower strip to hold a pen in place.

The front fastening is made with a button from my stash and Lawn Fawn twine which I attached through the front cover with a small knot.

Sorry for the long post but I hope the tutorial helped.... the fun, bright colours and patterns in the Brightside paper pack are just ideal for projects like this or the  6x6 pad would work for smaller projects too :0)

Thanks for looking today and have a great weekend :0)
