Watercolour butterflies

I have 2 cards to share with you today using butterflies by Layers of Color. I stamped the butterflies using Stazon on to watercolour paper before colouring them using Derwent Inktense pencils (for the pink butterfly) and Reeves watercolour wax crayons (for the pastel butterfly).

I then cut the butterflies out and added them to the cards (made using watercolour paper) before stamping sentiments using Unity stamps.

This one uses a stamp from Insightful Meadows and I've used watercolour pencils around the edge.

The second one uses the sentiment stamp from the Unity/ Webster's Pages Itty Bitty stamp - Dream Big ( which is unfortunately out of stock at the moment). I added a few rhinestones at the bottom of this card.

Thanks for visiting

So This Is........

LOVE........
Morning! Today I have a card to share with you with stamps that the lovely Emily has just sent me...love them.

I seem to be in a 'Purple' phase at the moment.....the beautiful background card was on my desk after I'd been making, so set the tone for this one!
I have used 'Garden Wall Frame' from Layers of Color.........this fits one of the new Nestie shapes I have just got too.....I think it took me longer to get the image onto the Nestie shape than to do the rest of the card!! It was a bit easier after I'd stamped and embossed the image and than lightly stuck the nestie to the card before cutting.........trust me this is the easiest way!! I have coloured it with ProMarkers and Glossy Accented the Bird. The sentiment is by {ippity} 'So This Is Love' I've just added a paper flower and some beautiful ribbon (which I think was round a box of choccies!! I never throw anything away!!)

Thanks for looking, I hope you have a wonderful Monday.... I'll see you soon.

Flowering Gems

My card today uses the Layers of Color stamps - Flowering Gems.

I've used these before by stamping then colouring them with Promarkers but today I decided to use them stamped on paper and then decorated with pearls. There are already circles in the stamped image which make it easy to place your choice of pearls/gemstones/Stickles etc.

Materials used:
DCWV cardstock, paper unknown (from my scraps box)
Layers of Color stamp, black Versafine ink
AC Thickers and rub-on
Papermania adhesive pearls, Kars pin
cotton lace and satin ribbon.

Before I go, just a quick reminder that there are still some bargain Unity kits on sale for only £20 in the shop. These are a fabulous bargain for quality red rubber stamps!!

Layers Of Color Tag

All distressed today - don't worry, I'm not distressed but my make is LOL!

I have been playing with the Layers of Color stamp set called Joyful Noise, so pretty. I made a little distressed tag which was actually inspired by the project idea on the back of the stamp set packet.

I've grunged up the papers with my seam ripper and distress inks, with a little tear here and there.

Hope you are having a fabulous Distressed day.
Kim

Inks - Rangers Distress inks; Archival coffee

Flocked butterflies

I love the Layers of Color butterfly set "Flutterescent" and having bought some flocking powder last week decided to try it our with these stamps.
I stamped the butterflies on to lightly patterned paper using the Essential Glue Pad before adding black flocking powder then cutting out the butterfly. The card base was made and I used Laura Ashley flocked paper as a background.

I added organza ribbon and a rub-on sentiment and accent to finish the card.

I love the effect of the flock on the stamping and can see myself using this a fair bit in the future!!

Butterfly for you and robots for the boys

My card to show you today is using a butterfly stamp from the gorgeous Flutterescent set by Layers of Color and available to buy at Make The Day Special:

I cut a shaped card from Bazzill Bling card and then sewed together my patterned papers before adding ruffled ribbon and the alphabet stickers. The butterfly was stamped using Memento inks on to cardstock before cutting it out to stick on the card. As a finishing touch I added some paper roses.

For the men/boys I made some cards using the awesomely cute robots from the Spaceships and Robots set but I've noticed that this set is currently out of stock in the Make The Day Special shop. However I thought I'd just show you them as they really are quite cute.

I'm sure Emily would be pleased to help you if you want these stamps :-)

Christmas in May?!

Have you seen the gorgeous new Layers of Color stamps in the shop? I've been playing with the reindeer set and made a few tags ready for Christmas gifts.

I started by stamping the images on to plain white cardstock using Versamark ink and then heat embossed using metallic embossing powders:

The stamped images were all cut out and then placed on the tags and embellished. All the papers used were scrap pieces that have been in my stash for quite a while!

Hope that seeing Christmas stuff has cooled you down during the current hot spell and as ever thanks for visiting!!
