A Touch of Tweed

Good morning ...Jenny here :)

I've gone with a masculine vibe this morning although many ladies wear tweed as well so I shouldn't really say that!!! I can honestly say I was inspired to make this tweed pattern whilst out walking the dog...we happened to be walking behind a young lad and his Mum on their way to school and he had a rather smart tweed jacket on!! :)

The Herringbone pattern is stamped tone on tone using Lawn fawns Interlocking Backdrops then I used white pigment ink and the diagonal strokes stamp from Belinda's Borders to make a large grid pattern over the top. This was all an experiment piece and I didn't expect to use it so I thought I'd add the stitched line from Avery Elle's Bunting set in blue pigment ink to see how it stamped into the pattern :)

I was quite pleased with the result and decided to cut a panel from it to use... the uneven white ink, which annoyed me at first, actually adds to the effect of texture in the tweed :)

Now what to do for a sentiment!!... I used the Just a Note die from Avery Elle along with the pierced rectangle in the same set to make a faux leather effect label. To make the words stand out I layered it over a pale green piece of card and hand-stitched them to the tweed panel ( the sewing machine wasn't going through three layers of card!!)
I'm quite happy with how it turned out especially because it was a practice piece!!

Unfortunately Belinda's Borders and Bunting are OOS at the moment but the same effects can be achieved by using sets like Mama Elephants Basic Borders or Avery Elle's Celebrate and stitching can be added using smaller stamps such as Lawn Fawns Bon Voyage or Winter Gifts..... have a look at your stamps to see what borders and patterns you have :0)

Thanks for stopping by :)

Happy birthday to you.

Hello.
Today my card uses stamps from three of our companies....Lawn Fawn, Avery Elle and Lil inkers.
I rarely mix and match stamps from different brands but it can work :)
I started by masking an area ready for the sentiment.
I then stamped the flowers from lil inkers Modern mehndi in momento  and coloured with pro markers.
The i removed the masking paper and stamped the border from lawn fawns Belindas borders.
Then added the sentiment from Avery Elle's handwritten notes.

To finish i used lots of liquid pearls to accent the flowers and then some sequins.
Thanks for looking.

Belindas borders

Hello.
I have been having a play with the lawn fawn set Belinda's borders.
I wanted to show that you don't have to use them just as a border.

This first card i simply shaped the stamp to make a rainbow.
I used distress inks for all of the colours.
This is quite simple to do.
Although as you get to the smaller parts its harder to shape the stamp without it trying to pop up lol.
I used two lawn fawn alphabet stamp sets you can see them here.

For this card  used the stamp in layers of similar colours going from dark to light..
Then added one of the butterflies from Flutterby.
I coloured the butterfly with distress inks in matching colours.
The sentiment is from Happy everything.
Thanks for looking.

If Flowers....

....Id pick you.
hello.
A quick clean and simple card from me today.
I used Lawn Fawn stamps...
I stamped straight onto the card blank and colour with pencils.
I added some small pearls to the flowers on the sentiment.
Thanks for looking.

So Thankful

Hello Stampers :0)

Just popping in on this sunny Saturday morning with an autumnal card for you using the new
Lawn Fawn stamp set called 'So Thankful'.

Lawn Fawn stamps are just the easiest and most satisfying images to
paper piece and these adorable little pumpkins are no exception.

I used different tones and patterns of orange and cream for the paper piecing
to give a slightly 3Dimensional patchwork feel to them.... I just love their plump shape :0)

Thanks for stopping by today :0)

You make me Smile

Morning crafty people :0).......I'm sure these weeks are getting shorter!!
I hope you have a great weekend planned and it involves a bit of crafting too :0)

Today I have a card to show you that mixes a few new and old Lawn Fawn stamps to make a new image.....

I couldn't wait to get the new stamp set called Dad's Day because I just wanted to use it with the spectacles from Clear to See but where to find a nose from??? After a search through the sets I thought one of the pears from Silly Valentine would be the perfect shape!!
I part inked it and stamped it first, then masked it with a Post It note so I could stamp the glasses and moustache. The bottom of the pear made a perfect bottom lip and a dot from Gnome Sweet Gnome for the eyes.

I had fun stamping out the background using the stitched border from Belinda's Borders.... by turning the stamp with each impression you can make it look like saddle stitched ribbon!!..... and the sentiment is from Hello Friend.

I think he looks rather fun... hope you do too  :0)
