Huge Vintage Lamp
This week, I bought an enormous vintage lamp from someone in my neighborhood. Really, this thing is over three feet tall! But I needed a big burst of light in my dark dining room and this lamp certainly fits the bill.
And as for my bathroom remodel, we are definitely in the final throes of this massive project. I'm so pleased with how it's turning out. A few more finishing touches and it will be ready for photos! Here's a little sneak peek. Thanks to the amazing people at Moen who donated this faucet fixture for the project. I think it looks really sharp.
1) THIS cashmere sweater from J.Jill, usually $249 is on sale today for $101.99. I got it for Christmas from my in-laws and it's my favorite thing ever. It also comes in petite and plus sizes. Go get yours.
2) And for those of you who just thought to yourself, "Yes - I need plus size clothing that is stylish and doesn't look like a potato sack", I just found a beautiful collection of linen clothing in exactly my style for the more statuesque. (They also have misses styles). Check out Vivid Linen.

Loretta is a Renaissance woman of the highest order and makes her life as an architect, artist, photographer, silversmith, author, blogger and green design advocate. Loretta is will be making a custom sterling silver photo necklace for one La Maison Boheme reader. The jewelry is cast in sterling silver and given a matte finish with an eco-friendly process. Liver of sulfur is used to antique and oxidize the sterling silver, and the high areas of the design were burnished to a brilliant shine. The necklace is finished with a white freshwater pearl.
The necklace is on a 16″- 18″ sterling silver cable chain, (there is a 2″ extender finished with a tiny freshwater pearl to extend the chain to 18″). The diameter of the square silver shape is 1/2″ x 1/2″.

Moen Faucet Giveaway
I've had a project in the works for some time: my husband and I are going to remodel our master bathroom. It hasn't happened yet, because I'm still putting the funds together, but we're hoping that this year we'll be able to get started. The impetus to remodel is not for the usual reasons. Don't get me wrong... we'll certainly enjoy an update. But the main reason for the remodel is that we need our bathroom to be wheel chair accessible for our son, Charlie.
This is why I was over the moon when Moen contacted me and asked if I would like to have a faucet from their new 90 Degree collection. Does the Pope wear a funny hat? - of course I want one! I love the beautiful Moen faucet we installed this fall in my kitchen. And it gets even better. Moen wants to give one to YOU! They're giving the faucet below to one lucky La Maison Boheme reader and you can choose your finish: chrome (as I did) or brushed nickel!
The faucet arrived to my house in record time and is patiently awaiting installation. It is gorgeous! Shiny new bath fixtures are like jewels to me. It might take me a while to pull together the rest of the vanity, but I promise to do a beautiful before and after post so you can see what we did!

Octavia Bloom Winner
Hello dear readers - sorry I'm posting so late today. My office is in a tail spin and my computer is buried beneath a pile of books and paper. I had to wait until my man returned home from work with his laptop.
Yesterday, my husband and I rearranged our entire home. Everything except for the living room had some kind of major change. The house is put back together, but my office is still in the ground zero stages. So, onto the business of the day...
Congratulations to Robinanne,
winner of a 50 dollar gift certificate to Octavia Bloom!
Thank you to everyone who entered.
Have a great Monday!

Giveaway from Octavia Bloom
Hello and happy Monday! Spring has sprung in my neck of the woods and we are celebrating with a giveaway! This week, La Maison Boheme readers have a chance to win a 50 dollar gift certificate from Octavia Bloom, an online shop filled with gorgeous handmade jewelry. Octavia Bloom is the brainchild of Jenny Christiansen, a jewelry artist living in Bozeman, Montana. This is what she has to say about her work:
I love the wildflowers of Spring and their shameless displays of themselves. Bright and bold, on the side of dusty old roads, or romantic and free, in hidden alpine meadows. The jewelry I create is my tribute to these wild beauties. While out on morning walks my eyes are drawn to them and my mind absorbs the colors, shapes and textures of these wild blooms. Then later, tucked away in my old school house studio, I try to recreate these beauties. My hope is that wearing or viewing my jewelry gives you a sense of the wondrous, natural world we live in full of beautiful, blossoming wildflowers. ~ Jenny

I Won "Paris in Color"
Thank you to Milsters, author of the lovely blog Little Pieces of Light for hosting a great Christmas giveaway! I won Paris in Color - a book of photos by the very talented Nichole Robertson of Little Brown Pen. I couldn't be happier! This book is a stunning collection of Nichole's Paris photos organized according to color. It's breathtaking. Thank you Milsters - what a wonderful surprise!
Paris in Color reminds me of this quote about vitality, generosity and joy by Simone de Beauvoir:
"There is vitality only by means of free generosity... and sensitivity is
nothing else but the presence which is attentive to the world and to
itself. The reward for these spontaneous qualities issues from the fact
that they make significances and goals appear in the world. They
discover reasons for existing. They confirm us in the pride and joy of
our destiny as man."
All photos by Nichole Robertson.
