Paper Crafts Card Creations 9

Hello all! As I mentioned in my last blog post, I'm catching up on sharing my published creations and doing so by starting with older cards that hold a special spot in my heart. Being a clean and simple kind of girl, vintage creations are not an easy task for me to accomplish. So this card is near and dear to my heart because I feel that this was a successful attempt at capturing that vintage feel. This one was published in Paper Crafts Card Creations 9...I started by stamping a Rustic White cardstock panel with Make Your Own cling stamp in Dark Chocolate. Then colored the dresses in with Copic Markers (V91, Y21 & Y32). Stamped a journaling circle in Vintage Touch Chai and a sentiment in Dark Chocolate, both are from the Journaling Circle stamp set. Then attached the panel, with dimensional adhesive, to a Fine Linen card base. Here's How: To make the yellow strip appear to wrap around the card... I started by die cutting a Fillable Frames #9 tag and trimmed a small cardstock strip to the same width, both from Harvest Gold cardstock. Attached the die cut tag to the left side of the Make Your Own stamped panel, with dimensional adhesive, and the small strip was tucked under and attached to the right side. Here's A Note: The houndstooth stamp I used is no longer available, but Background Basics: Houndstooth makes the perfect alternative. Then finished the card off with a Dark Chocolate button strung with Rustic Jute Button twine.

That's it for today. Thanks for stopping by and have a wonderful day!

CARDS Magazine Publication

So, it's been a while since I last share any of my published projects with you. I thought it was about time I started up again. I figured I would start with a few of my favorite older creations from previous magazine publications. So, in case you missed it, here is a sympathy card from the March 2011 CARDS issue....This card features two of my all time Hero Arts stamp favorites... the Lace Background and the Dogwood. I started by stamping the Lace Background in Versamark ink onto a kraft card base. Here's A Tip: The card base was trimmed to 3 3/4" wide, to accommodate the flower extending over the edge.I then stamped the card base with the Dogwood image and sentiment in True Black. Here's A Tip: When working with wood mounted rubber stamps (such as the two used on today's card) use a stamp positioning tool, such as a Stamp-a-ma-jig, for perfect placement. Stamped the Dogwood a second time onto Rustic White cardstock, trimmed and attached. Here's A Tip: For added detail, I attached the flowers, at the centers, with a flat Glue Dot and the petals with dimensional adhesive. Then finished the card off with Fine Linen ribbon and True Black buttons.

That's all I've got for you today, I hope you enjoyed! Thanks for stopping by!

CARDS 2010 January Publications

Hello all! Thought I would share a few cards that were published in the January edition of CARDS magazine...The detail on these Spring Rain buttons looks a lot like tire tread, which made them a perfect match for this bicycle image from Everyday Button Bits. Wouldn't you say?! I made this card back when my Polka Dot Basics II set was brand new and I used it on just about everything.
Here is a card I have never posted on my blog before. Those adorable hot air balloons and the embossed sentiment are from Everyday Button Bits. Again with the Polka Dot Basics II, this time they are embossed.
This is my favorite out of the bunch, this card was pretty much the card that started my In Bloom craze. I still love that set! I really like the way the Background Basics: Retro image looks stamped in Dark Chocolate Ink on Kraft.
This one was a fun one to create. Doesn't the cupcake topping (from Cupcake Collection), heat embossed in white, look so yummy! Again, gotta love those embossed Polka Dot Basics II.

Thanks for visiting today!

Let's Celebrate

Hello and welcome, friends! Who's ready to celebrate?! I know I am! It's Stamp It! Cards week and I am so exciting to be a part of the Stamp It! Cards Week Blog Hop!

Have you seen the Stamp It! Cards magazine yet? It's wonderful and chocked full of amazing creations, what a blessing it is to be apart of it. This is my first time ever seeing my cards in a Paper Crafts issue. Once the issue became available, I searched my little town high and low for one, with no avail. What torture that was! It was definitely worth the wait though.

Now here is your chance to participate in the fun! Moxie Fab World blog and Paper Crafts Connection blog have joined together to celebrate, by hosting a stamping challenge called The Olympics of Stamping. All you have to do is create and submit a stamped card in the following themes: Birthday, Thank You, Thinking of You/Hello, Love and Season's Greetings. These categories also happen to coincide with the Stamping Royalty Contest. So, once you've submitted your challenge cards over at the Moxie Fab World Blog, be sure to send it into the magazine contest as well.

In honor of Stamp It! Cards Week, 11 of the top contributors to this special issue are participating in a fun blog hop. We each created a hand stamped card to share with you all for today. Here is my creation, using some Papertrey Ink stamping supplies...
I stamped an Aqua Mist cardstock strip with Background Basic: Tin Types (in Versamark) and attached it to a White cardstock strip. Use the Butterfly Die to cut a negative space from the strip and mounted white cardstock, stamped with button images from Studio Style (in Aqua Mist and Berry Sorbet), behind it. Attached it over a Kraft Small Scalloped Border and card base, then wrapped with embroidery floss.

Be sure to stop by and see what the other ladies have created...

Leave each one of them a comment (including the Moxie Fab World), to give you 12 chances to win a fabulous prize! One lucky winner will win a prize of 12 stamp sets from My Cute Stamps!

Thanks for hopping by, hope you have fun!!!

Welcome, Little One

Have you seen the latest Stamp It! Cards magazine by Paper Crafts? This issue is loaded with inspiration and talent! This is my first time ever being published in a Paper Crafts magazine, so I was super excited to finally see the issue for the first time at the CHA Super Show. Here is one of my cards that you can find inside...
The focus of the card is this hand stitched birds nest, with button eggs nestled inside. The vine image (from Beyond Basic Borders) was stamped in vintage cream ink onto a dark chocolate cardstock strip. The nest was attached over looped spring rain twill ribbon and then mounted over a vintage cream card base.

So hurry up and purchase your issue of Stamp It! Cards magazine, you'll be glad you did!

CARDS 2009 December Publications

Hello there!

Now that December has come and gone, I can share my publications for that month in CARDS magazine. First off are some simple Christmas tags...The one on the right was the one that made an appearance in the magazine. The tags were embossed and then embellished with a punched circle, sentiment strip (sentiment from Mixed Messages), a die cut snowflake and a brad. Topped it off with a button tided to a ribbon loop.

Next up, an embossed wedding card... Embossed the raspberry fizz panel, wrapped it with ribbon and a rhinestone button, attach a label (Nestabilities Labels Three), stamped with a heart and sentiment from Heart Prints and embellished the heart with rhinestones.

Lastly...
This was a fun one to make! Think this was one of the first cards I stitched on. Created apples using french knots, straight stitched the tree top and chain stitched along the polka dot edge. The red ruffled edge was created by crinkling cardstock and folding.
That's it from me today. Hope you have a wonderful day and thanks for stopping by!

CARDS November 2009 Publications

Hello my friends! Sorry I do not have a new card to share with you today, it's been busy around here. I may have to slow down a tiny bit on the blog postings, at least until after Christmas. I do hope you don't mind too much. After the holidays I plan on going back to posting daily.

However, I do have a link and a couple published cards to share with you today. Check this out, over at the CARDS Blog they are showcasing one of my Christmas tags. Here are a couple cards that were published in the November 09 Issue of CARDS Magazine...
This one was created using a dollar stamp I had picked up at the craft store. The polka dot pattern paper is from PTI Raspberry Fizz Mix and the sentiment is from Green Thumb.
This one is a mix of Making Memories (pattern paper, felt letters and ribbon from the Noteworthy Collection) and PTI (cardstock, buttons and With Sympathy stamp set). The little butterfly is a Cuttlebug Die Cut. I really like this layout, one of these days I will have to give it another try.

So, unfortunately (even with the best intentions) my Christmas tree is not set up yet. This is unusual for me, my tree is always set up right after Thanksgiving. The tree is buried too far into the garage for my hubby to get to right now, so this weekend he will dig it out for me.

Glad you stopped by today!

More October 2009 CARDS Publications

Hello everyone! Here is another card and a couple tags that were published in the October 2009 issue of CARDS Magazine.
Here is how the cake was created: cut cardstock strips, emboss strips with swiss dots, adhere strips together (with a cardstock backing), embellish with ribbon and trim then adhere the assembled cake to the card base. Once attached to the card embellish the cake top. The green cake base was cut by hand then attach just under the cake.
The tags were punched from cardstock, punched with a scalloped border then embossed with swiss dots. Stamped and cut out peas, attached to the tag with a sentiment. The buttons were threaded with twine then the twine was threaded though the tag hole and tide to the bows. If you need any more info please let me know.

On the camera front, my mom and sister have graciously offered to share their cameras with me occasionally while mine is in for repairs. Hope to share some new stuff with you soon.

Hope you have a blessed day!

Bringing Back the Blooms & Good News!

Hello my friends! I've brought In Bloom back out to play...

Yes... I still love this set! :) It's hard to see in the photo but the green strip is embossed with blooms in cream embossing powder. Behind that I slipped in a textured torn edge and then tied it together with a button and bow. The bloom image is stamped in vintage cream ink onto the craft card base...Then embellished with a few french knots, more of that wonderful embroidery floss I've been using lately. Oh, and added a few stitches to the sentiment for good measure! What do you think of the color combo? It totally reminds me of sorbet ice cream, mmmmmm! I'm not sure if sorbet ice cream and flowers mix well together, oh well.

Anyways, I'm very excited to share my news with you! Today I received a very sweet email from Susan Opel with PaperCrafts Magazine, accepting a few of my cards for publication in the March/April 2010 issue! This will be my first time ever being featured in PaperCrafts! I can't wait to see them in print, it's going to be a long 7 months!

So, thank you all for taking the time to visit me and for all your wonderful comments. Have a blessed Tuesday!
