Introducing Ultimate Baby Inspiration

Hello and welcome to the fourth day of the Papertrey Ink May countdown and the first Design Team group post!

Today's group post is all about BABY! Oh, and showcasing the new and wonderful baby product coming out this month of course...
  • Sweet Cheeks stamp set & dies
  • Rattled stamp set & dies
  • Text Block: Baby die
  • Baby Booties dies
  • Baby Bootie: Patches dies
  • Baby Bootie: Details dies

Our challenge today... to leave you with inspiration perfect for when that baby shower invitation arrives in the mail! Check out what I've cooked up for you today...
I just can't help myself! These felt booties are just too cute!  I've made one pair so far and can't wait to make more. So many possibilities with these dies (Baby Booties dies, Baby Bootie: Patches dies, Baby Bootie: Details). In case your wondering... yep, these pictures were taken in my son's nursery.  Just so fitting and the lighting was perfect.
As soon as the design team was introduced to this baby bootie concept I knew exactly what color combo I wanted to work with.  One that would fit seamlessly into my son's wardrobe.  These fun color-blocked booties come in a color combo of fine linen, smokey shadow, ocean tides and blueberry sky felt.  Here's what's pictured... fine linen (for the upper and embroidery floss), smokey shadow (strap), ocean tides (inner circle and tabs) and blueberry sky (button and inner circle embroidery floss).
These sole circles are adorable!  Here's what's pictured... smokey shadow (sole) and blueberry sky (bottom circles and embroidery floss).
And the back... ocean tides (tabs and embroidery floss). Here's a shot at the boxed stitching that holds the straps in place. Cute right?!
So here they are in action!  My model posed perfectly for this shot...  Not!  Only took no less than 20 tries to come up with this one shot. Couldn't get him to stay still for some reason.  :) My boy is 4 1/2 months old now (he is a little guy, smaller than most his age) and these booties fit him just right.  Infact, I'd say he's actually about to outgrow them any day now. Such a big bummer.  Guess I better stitch him up another pair or two now!
As to not distract much from the adorableness of the booties, I've chosen to present them with a simple wrapping of ocean tides ribbon and a coordinating tag (created using the same bootie strap die).  The tag base is die cut from kraft cardstock, using the Tag Sale #10 die, and embellished with a smokey shadow strap and a blueberry sky button.  This little set up can be gifted as is or simply placed into a gift bag.
To complete the emsemble... a cute coordinating card.
Created using the Sweet Cheeks stamp set and dies.  Featuring a familiar color combo of smokey shadow, ocean tides, aqua mist, blueberry sky, spring rain and kraft.  Similar to the booties and tag.
Haphazardly placed/stamped these adorable pin images to create a simple and easy card that took not time at all.

So, what do you think of these booties?!  I catch myself day dreaming about matching pairs to go with whatever I happen to be dressing my son in for the day.  Make sure to put these on your May purchase list!  I can tell you from experience that any expectant or new mother would be thrilled to have a pair or two.

Well, that concludes my look at everything BABYJust remember... this stamp set and die will be available for purchase through Papertrey Ink, beginning May 15th

Introducing Button Up

Hello and welcome to day three of the Papertrey Ink November countdown!  This month we've got all kinds of fun stuff to share with you.  Today I'm happy to introduce to you Button Up.  A happy little set by Melissa Bickford, which features all sorts of button images.  I'm sure you'll love this set as much as I do... which happens to be a lot!

I've got a few samples to share with you.  So, let me get right to it...
First up, a simple one layer card.  Simply stamped four different button images in a color combo of limeade ice, new leaf, Hero Arts wet cement and Ranger Archival viridian.  Lovin' this combo!
Finished the card off with a sentiment from another new set, Sentiment Signs.  For an added touch, I pierced the holes of the buttons.
Next, a sweet and simple baby card.  Kept the color combo on this one soft, the only pop of color is Ranger Archival viridian ink.  This type of ink is perfect when it comes to handling a good thick coat of Glossy Accents.
Added a strip of impressed cardstock, using the new Aida impression plate.  Die cut a thread card, also new this month, and wrapped it with white embroidery floss.  The sentiment is from the Baby Button Bits stamp set.
Last, but not least.  For this little number I pulled out my Background Basics: Super Stripes stamp set and stamped rows in black ink.
Layered a few die cut buttons, stamped with images from the Button Up stamp set, and hand cut new leaf leaves.  Then finished the card off with a sentiment from the new Framed Out #10 set.

Well, that concludes my look at the new Button Up stamp set.  Be sure to stop by Nichole Heady's blog, she will be featuring this set along with Hanging By a Thread and Sew Simple Borders. Also, Heather Nichols, Melissa Bickford, Erin Lincoln and Lexi Daly have peeks to share with you of their newest sets for the month.

Thanks so much for stopping by!

Sweet Baby Inspiration

Today is the day! The first group post of the Papertrey Ink countdown! Group posts are always fun, I love to see the various takes that the entire Design Team comes up with when using the same products. Today we, the Design Team, get to bring you some fun and adorable baby projects, using this months baby line up of stamps and coordinating dies (which are all available beginning June 15 at Papertrey Ink).

Here's what I came up with...

I've chosen to focus on Sweet Baby, it's coordinating Sweet Baby Die and the Shape Up Series: Onesie Die to create this adorable onesie ensemble.

For this 'one-of-a-kind' onesie, I couldn't help but stack these adorable Sweet Baby die cut animals. I die cut them from some fabric I've had hanging around for a while now. Here's A Tip: When die cutting fabric, I found it best to create a tight fitting die cut sandwich. I stacked an extra sheet of cardstock behind the fabric, this allows the die edges to cut entirely through the fabric it's self, right through and into the extra piece of cardstock.

To attach these die cut cuties to the onesie I chose to work with some No-Sew Iron On Fabric Adhesive. Here's A Tip: This fabric adhesive can easily be die cut through, I cut mine at the same time I die cut the fabric. Once the animals were ironed into place I embellished with a Harvest Gold loin mane, Harvest gold button (how perfect is this shaped button?!), French knots (tutorial here) for eyes and a silk bow glued into place. To complete this ensemble, how about a matching onesie card?! I started by die cutting the card from white cardstock. Then, to give it a bit more of a realistic look, impressed the front with my Linen & Canvas Impression Plate.

This adorable giraffe was die cut from a sheet of polka dot American Crafts adhesive backed fabric paper. Tied a bow around it's neck and attached with dimensional adhesive. Then, to finish it off, I stamped, cut and attached a sentiment strip.

It sure was fun creating today's project, I hope you enjoyed! That's it from me, but for even more baby fun be sure to see what the rest of the design team has been up to...

Thanks for stopping by, have a great one!

Papertrey Ink - May 2011 Release Projects (Part 2)

Hi! I'm back with the rest of my Papertrey Ink May Release projects. Today I bring you a selection of boy/masculine cards....First up, a patriotic card using Est. 1776 by Tiffany Pastor. Stamped the card base to mimic the American flag (in Chai Vintage Touch ink) and then grouped all the sentiments in Enchanted Evening and Pure Poppy inks.Finished it off with a ribbon/button flag embellishment. How about a sweet baby card?! Using Whale Wishes by Dawn McVey. I completely covered the Fine Linen card base with this adorable whale image.Used the Rock & Roll technique when I inked up the whale, using two different blues, and topped him off with some tiny hearts. How about some Road Trip stamps and pattern paper by Heather Nichols?! I combined the two to create a unique pattern paper which I placed at the base of the card front.I then pulled out Boy Basics: Truckin' It and did some masking when stamping this map. Started by stamping the solid map in Chai Vintage Touch. Stamped the sentiment and truck in Dark Chocolate, colored with markers and then placed a mask over the truck. Finished it off by stamping the map overlay in Dark Chocolate and peeled off the mask. Last, but not least, Tag-its #4 by Heather Nichols. I used the grad cap along with the whale from Whale Wishes.Create a few ocean waves by masking and inking with the Simple Circles Border Die.

So there you have it, I hope you've enjoyed the goodies from yet another fabulous release! I'd love to hear what you all are looking forward to receiving the most from this months release! Can't wait to see what you create!

Thanks for stopping by!
