I burned another disk with cdrecord, now in raw96r mode.

Running PROM diagnostics, I get:

October 20 2010, 12:58:33 GMT
start scsi test 
Device 4 failed self diagnostics test

Probably the cdrom is broken.

I'll try to go the DHCP route.
