does anyone know what is needed to get NetBSD working on the 4d machines? i'd
love to have NetBSD on these things, not a real big fan of irix. plus i know
NetBSD a LOT better.
i've got two 4d/35 boxes, one with 32MB ram and one with 64MB ram. i have a
copy of IRIX 5.3 and some spare SCSI disks laying around. what would i need
to build a cross compiler? would a copy of IRIX on the 4d be better than say
NetBSD on another little endian (even mips since it's all DEC pmax stuff)
machine and try and cross compile from there?
beyond that, has anyone tried to boot a 4d box to see what happens? would
anyone perhaps have docos on the hardware?
so many questions, so little time.
cheers,
-brian
