A Taste of Something Fine . . .

On Monday 27 April, 2009, Jackson Browne performed on stage at the Olympia Theatre in Paris, and for roughly three hours that night cast a magical musical spell that must have resonated far beyond the theatre walls. His incredible trademark voice rang out clear and true as though he was still twenty years old rather than three times that, his presence murmurred simplicity in blue jeans and a plain black shirt, and his music shone bright and pure like all the stars in heaven. For three beautiful hours he played and tugged our heartstrings, varying between intense acoustic pieces and high energy rock and roll that brought the walls down ! Early in the show he said two times how thrilled and awed he was to be playing the Olympia in Paris, a place he'd dreamed of playing for years, and it showed with no shadow of a doubt just how much he wanted to do a simply amazing show for us all. . . he poured his heart and soul into spell-binding renditions of Fountain of Sorrow, Something Fine, Doctor My Eyes, Lives In the Balance, and too many more songs to list here. By all means, if you have a chance to see him perform, don't miss it ! Buy his CDs too ! And I could not resist, as you can well imagine, snapping a few photographs to help give you just a taste, of something fine . . .
