Brehat, Brittany . . .

Another well kept vacation destination secret in France is the island of Brehat off the north Brittany coast. No cars are allowed there (not a bad idea, what?), so you take the ferry, and then you either rent a bicycle, or you walk. It is possible to hike the circumference and crisscross the island on foot in a day trip, but biking provides more freedom for loitering in hidden corners, of which there are many around this magical island.

These two bas reliefs in the cemetery caught my eye, even on their tombstone one gets the impression that the respect and mutual esteem each had for the other will endure forever. . .

The cemetery is right on the water ; not a bad place to have to spend eternity, on a peaceful island full of wildflowers and lovely ocean front geography. . .
