My Time to Craft - no challenge.

Image
I'm sad to say that My Time to Craft is having a break until August. Check out the blog for the details. Hopefully we will all be in a better place in 6 months' time.  In the meantime, here is the card I originally made for the challenge 'Black and White.' The technique is inspired by This video from the ever-inspiring Natasha Foote. She used dies but I used a stamp and heat-embossing. The image was a Simon Says Stamp/Gina K design for Stamptember a couple of years ago. I stamped and heat-embossed twice, using my Misti so it would be at the same place on the black card and the white. Then I cut up the images and pieced them together on some copy paper and finally adhered the panel to my card. I added some white pearls from my stash for an embellishment.  Thanks for looking and keep well!  love Mags B x

My Time to Craft #327 Embossing - Heat or Dry...

Image
...or both! It's My Time to Craft Challenge day! We have a lovely theme this fortnight, it's Embossing. I used dry embossing (using a folder and my die-cutting machine) and also heat embossing. I enjoyed it so much that I made two cards! This card uses a snowflake embossing folder that came with my Cuttlebug about 6 years ago! The wreath is from Holly Motifs by Spellbinders and the gold-embossed sentiment is from Joyful Greetings by Paper Smooches. This card is made in exactly the same way. The background is embossed with a Spellbinders Flora M-Bossabilities folder. The die-cuts are also Spellbinders, this time from Cascading Grace . The central red piece is embossed and added with foam pads to give a bit of dimension. The gold embossed sentiment is by Clearly Besotted but seems to be discontinued. See what my teamies at My Time to Craft have created to inspire you! Thanks for looking! love Mags B x

Sparkly Daisies

Good evening, all! Yay, it's Friday! Hooray for the Weekend! I signed up for a class at Online Card Classes called 'Stretch Your Stamps 2' - UK pals, the exchange rate between the £ and the $ is pretty competitive, so if you've ever considered one of these classes, now is the time to investigate! Gotta admit, I'm addicted lol! I've been experimenting with some of the techniques shown this fortnight, and it's been such fun! This is a better photo than the original, I hope you can see the glitter embossing over the Darling Daisies line image by Chrissy Armstrong for Whimsy Stamps. Click on the pic for a clearer view! The technique demonstrated by Jennifer McGuire involved using different colours of embossing powders on an image stamped in Versamark in tiny amounts to give a multi-coloured image. I don't have a variety of embossing powders, so I followed a suggestion she made using markers, a Stamp-a-ma-jig, Versamark and clear glitter embossing...
