Dancing in the snow

Image
Oh my, what an awful photo! But it's so grey and gloomy today that this was the best of a bad lot! The purples are MUCH prettier in real life! I made an easel base from a 5" card and stuck the matted image to the flap, a nice simple way to make an easel! This darling image is Christmas Dance from Lili of the Valley. She makes me smile! I coloured her with Spectrum Noirs but I forgot to list them! (Slapped wrist!) There are gold stickles on the stars, and Diamond stickles on the snow. The papers are Nitwits - I think they're both from the 'Still Joyful Hearts' collection, but I forgot to note the name of the set on the back - it's been a very forgetful week, I'm afraid! The sentiment, which is raised on foam pads to make the stop, is also LotV. I used a Woodware corner punch on the image and sentiment for added interest. The Poinsettia is a Marianne die. The ribbon is from stash, and the rose is from Wild Orchid Crafts. Finally I added some Paperchase stick...

A round easel card!

Image
Here's another larger-than-usual card, I used a saucer as a template. I think this LotV fairy is my favourite - she was the first one I bought - though I love all LotV's stamps! I've been very firm with myself about buying crafty stuff, because I'm saving up for Stamperama in Stevenage in February, so I've been resisting the gorgeous new stamps. It's very hard! The current Lili of the Valley Challenge is for 'things with wings'. I coloured her with Promarkers and stickled her wings and the flowers in her hair. I used 2 Nesties, the background one was a Christmas pressie from my dear hubby, and so was the Martha S butterfly border. Ribbon is from Hobbycraft, flowers are Prima, Wild Orchid and from stash, and the gem brads and pink gingham paper are also from stash. Here's an interior view. The sentiment is by The Greeting Farm. The colours irl are pink and green, but they've come out more coral and aqua. It's so frustrating having photograph ...

My first easel card!

Image
My baby girl was 24 yesterday, and this is the card I made for her. I am amazed at how easy it is to make an easel card - the pictures on other peoples' blogs look so complex and lavish, but it's really simple! My Old Man Does Not Do Cute, but even he admitted it was good! I'm especially pleased with the little strawberry charm, from Whiff of Joy which is hanging on a twisted cord which I made from 2 pink embroidery threads. The inside: I distressed round the adorable Lili of the Valley image and also the card for the sentiment on the inside, with Tattered Rose distress ink, and stickled. Two of the papers are Basic Grey 'Nook and Pantry'; but the pink paper on the right and on the inside isn't, but I can't recall where it's from, sorry! The big flower is Prima, the small ones from my local Art and Craft shop, and they've been shimmer misted in gold but it doesn't show up in the picture. Let's be frank, I am not a very good photographer, bu...
