My Time to Craft #405 Anything But A Card.

Image
Hiya! I'm sorry this post is late - my daughter is over from Ireland for the weekend, and I'm afraid with all the excitement I forgot! Anyway, we have a new Challenge at My Time to Craft which is to make Anything BUT a Card. That can be a scrapbook page, embroidery, anything! I have made some little boxes for Christmas presents. They are based on This video by The Posh Paper Lady. I used 6.5" papers from Kaisercraft (a very old Christmas pad!) so I was able to add lids to the boxes rather than glue everything down. All I did was add half an inch to one of the top flaps, score it, and cut off the opposite flap to give room to tuck the lid in. The snowflakes are cut in silver mirri card using a Lawn Fawn Stitched Snowflakes die. I'll add tags nearer the time, once I've found suitable gifts to go inside! My teamies have been so creative, do go and look at their lovely work! Thanks for looking, and have a great weekend! love Mags B x

CRAFT Challenge #449 Box or Bag

Happy New Year! Our first Challenge of 2018 at CRAFT Challenge is to make a Box or Bag. And here's a sideways view: I used the new Complete 5 x 7 card and box die set from the Christina Collection at Craftstash. I used one of her trellis dies to cut a pattern in the top side of the box, backed it with acetate, and added Pearl Pen to the intersections. The flowers and leaves are from the same die set. I used rather thick card, and cutting the trellis was quite difficult, no next time I'll be sure to used thinner card. The cute image is an old one from Bugaboo Stamps - check out their freebies if you want to 'try before you buy'! Our sponsors this week: The Cutting Cafe and Bugaboo Stamps. Thanks for looking, and have a good weekend! love Mags B x

My Time to Craft DT Challenge #339 Anything but a card.

Good morning! Happy Saturday, I hope you're having a great weekend! Our new Challenge at My Time to Craft! and the theme is Anything but a Card! You can create anything at all, in any medium, EXCEPT a card! I have some lovely small candles by Yankee Candles, which smell delicious! I also have the Spellbinders' Bracket edge square box which fits the candles exactly! The die is JUST small enough to go through a Cuttlebug, though I used my Grand Calibur. After cutting, you emboss to add the fold lines and simply glue the tabs together. There's a separate die for the base and the lid. It looks as though it's discontinued, so be quick if you want to get your mitts on one! I used paper from American Craft' 'Yes Please!' 12 x 12 pad which is double-sided. Sadly, those papers are now unavailable. The cardstock is nice and firm, but not too stiff to crease. I used another Spellbinders die, from an old motifs set, to make a little doily to go on t...
