Dream Valley Challenges #180 For a Man or Boy

Image
Morning, all! I hope you're enjoying the Bank Holiday. Our new Challenge at Dream Valley is For a Man or Boy or as I like to say 'For a bloke!' I made a baby card, as I seem to be needing a few these days! My kids' generation is at that age - it's a bit strange, because I remember them when they were much younger, and surely it's not that long ago? The cute duck is Baby Huey by our sponsor Cute as a Button. I did the 'out of the box' technique on the ballon, which I covered with Glossy Accents. The papers are from stash. The sentiment is an old one from Clearly Besotted and I used a die for the word 'Baby.' The star stickers came from Paperchase a long time ago. Go and see what my teamies have made, they will inspire you to join in! Have a good week and thanks for looking! love Mags B x

New Baby Boy!

Good afternoon, all! My lovely nephew and neice celebrated the birth of their first baby just before Christmas: a baby boy! He is utterly adorable! I sent a card: The image is Looking at my Sweet by Sami Stamps. So elegant! I added some sparkle to the baby blanket. I used Spellbinders Romantic Rectangles dies to cut the image and the mat. The sentiment is embossed with Steel blue embossing powder by Simon Says Stamps and the Small Banner die is also from SSS. Thanks for looking, and I hope you're having a good week! love Mags B x

My Time to Craft Challenge #326 Sketchy Time!

Image
Hello, me dearios! I hope you're all having a good weekend, whether at work or at play! Our new Challenge at My Time to Craft! is this fabulous Sketch by Jo! Isn't it great? Just perfect for a card I wanted to make for a friend of my daughter's, who has just had a bonny, bouncing baby boy! I used the adorable Butterfly Baby by Krista Smith, now available in rubber from Little Darlings Rubber Stamps. Too darn' cute! I coloured him with Copics, and slathered Icicle Stickles over his wings. I distressed the edge with Broken China Distress ink, and did the same with the mat, which is cut with a Spellbinders Heart Circles Die. (The link is to the main Spellbinders site, Google the die to find local sources.) The paper is a snippet, I'm not sure who it's by. The flowers are from Wild Orchid Crafts, the leaves are cut from a snippet of green card using a Woodware punch. I glittered the flowers with Glamour Dust. The sentiments are from an old 'Ba...

My Time to Craft DT Challenge #290 'New Baby.'

Hi, guys! I hope you're enjoying your weekend! I am at the yucky stage of a cold - why do I always come down with a cold when there's a holiday coming up?!! On to our new challenge at My Time to Craft and it's very topical - New Baby Congratulations to Wills and Kate on the birth of their little girl, and also to everyone who has a new little prince or princess in their family! I have used an adorable image from Saturated Canary - Krista's images are wonderful! This is Butterfly Baby The papers are from the Snippets drawer. I used Copics to colour him - I am still learning what the colours are like, so the blending on the wings is a bit off, but I love that lemon yellow! The sentiment is from a stamp set by American Crafts which I picked up for £1 and is now out of print. I used Mama Elephant Stargazer pigment ink to stamp it, and Broken China Distress Ink around the edges of the image. The butterfly sticker is from stash. The flowers are by Wild Orchid C...

The Elephant's Child in blue and green!

My post for The Squirrel and the Fox bloghop is here Evening all! Don't get too close, I have a filthy cold! The only things I managed to do today were order pizza and make this card! It's for my daughter to send to a friend who has just had a little boy. The image my daughter chose was this Woodware Baby Patch Elephant The text is from the same set. I was going to paper-piece him, but when I stamped him on this scrap of Kanban card he looked good already! The papers are from 'Lion Sleeps' a 12 x 12 pad by K and Co which is full of gorgeous papers for little 'uns! Here's a sideways view so you can see the elephants more clearly: The ribbon is from Hobbycraft, the gems and stars are from stash. I also used a Woodware punch to round the top corners of the image mat, and distressed with Faded Jeans Distress Ink. I want to enter the challenges at 2 Sisters Challenge where I found the fabulous sketch! And also Come and Get It Challenges - I used Gre...

I made this for one of the mums at the Toddler Group that I help at twice a week at my Church Hall. She has just had her third little boy (so including her husband, that's four boys she has to look after, isn't that right, girls?!) I didn't write down all the materials I used, but the image is a Woodware stamp (so cute!) and I think the paper is from Craft Creations, but don't quote me! One of the best things about volunteering at a Toddler Group is seeing all those gorgeous babies grow up to be young ladies and gentlemen!! Even after they've gone on to school, their mums still say hello when we meet in Sainsbury's! And, according to my friend Jasmine who ran a pre-school for 20 years, kids who have been to a good Toddler group make friends more easily AND learn more quickly! That's really thrilling, you know! What's also exciting for me is that I've been asked to make cards for the group (it's called Early Birds.) My first commission! Ok, it...
