Springtime!

Image
Hi, guys! Is anyone else trying out the new Blogger? It doesn't seem too bad, once you get used to the new graphics. Here's an Easter card for a friend who keeps chickens. I apologise for the shadow on the photo, my Daylight Lamp has been tidied by someone and it isn't in any of the 3 different places he's put it in the past. Bless. The fun image is by Whiff of Joy . I coloured in Speccies (and I think I coloured part of her hat as hair by mistake, silly me!). There are Glossy Accents on her boots and stickles on her hair ribbons. The sketch is from a brand new Challenge called Sketch Challenges isn't it good? The swirl at the bottom of the image is cut with a Spellbinders Floral Motif die. Papers are from yet another freebie stack, this time 'Vintage Rose' by Craftwork cards. Flowers are Wild Orchid Crafts, and I used scraps of ribbon to substitute for leaves.  The sentiment is by LotV and the gems are from stash. I'm entering the Sketch C...

A Whiff of Spring!!

Image
Hi, guys! It's been a grey, wet day in S-E Hertfordshire, with a bitter wind! Just the kind of day for staying indoors in the warm and creating something springlike! This image is 'Fall Willow with Baby Turkey' from Whiff of Joy but I think she looks fine on a Spring card. I used the sketch from the current Whiff of Joy Challenge . ETA: I made a boo-boo with the sketch, I'll have to try again! What a twit! The papers are Basic Grey 'Sugar Rush,' I love the orange and green, nice and bright! I distressed the edges, and the oval image mat, with Old Paper DI, then went round with Glossy Accents and added Glamour Dust. The flowers (which I stickled) and gems and lace are from stash. The tag is a Whiff of Joy die, and the sentiment is a Penny Black stamp. I felt much more bright and cheerful when I finished, though maybe the brightness is because my jeans are Glamour Dusted, too! Tomorrow it's time for another Dream Valley Challenge and you'll be really ple...

Where...?

Image
Hi, guys! Isn't it cold? We've a frost forecast for tonight, and I have dug out the winter duvets! I made a card with a Whiff of Joy springtime image that I bought last year - even if we're heading into winter we can make happy springtime cards, I think! The young man it's for likes a videogame that features big yellow birds (don't ask!) so I think he'll like the joke! I apologise for the wonky, faded photo, I really don't like taking pictures indoors when there's no natural light! I took my colours from the striped Nitwits paper (Canibefranktoo). The diamond paper is also Nitwits, but I forgot to write down which collection! The yellow ribbon is from stash. I stickled the girl's hairbands and also the centres of the flowers, and put Glossy Accents on the eggshells but otherwise left it plain. The great sketch is from Sketch and Stash - everything is old except some of the Promarkers, which I picked up at Ally Pally. I may be even more erratic than ...

Another Post! Friday Sketchers + Whiff of Joy

Image
This is for a Whiff of Joy challenge to use the colours from a lovely photo. I've tried to upload the picture here but the Force is not with my computer-fu. The adorable stamp is WoJ, of course, coloured with Promarkers and stickled. I used foam pads to give a bit of dimension. I stickled the edge of the Nestie in green and also the horizontal strips of the bp. Flowers are Prima. The sketch is from Friday Sketchers but I think I've missed the deadline. Never mind, I had fun! Thanks for looking, and go Japan! luv, Mags Recipe: Papers: DCWV Christmas Multi Stack. Promarkers: Almond, Vanilla, Caramel, Burnt Sienna, Lupstick Red, Leaf Green, Lush Green, Denim Blue. Martha Stewart doily border punch Flowers: Prima. Brads from stash.
