Rainbow Wedding.

Image
Hi, guys! Happy Jubilee holiday to those who have celebrated! I was asked to make a card for a lady whose bridesmaids are going to be wearing the colours of the rainbow! That's one colour each, by the way, not all seven at once! This is a big card (8" x 8") because the LotV die-cut is large. I used a Martha Stewart punch around the die-cut to give the lacy border. The striped paper is Funky Hand (it was a freebie last year) - aren't those colours lovely?! Flowers are Wild Orchid, and the leaves are a Whiff of Joy die. The ribbon is recycled one of my colleagues at the Toddler Club was going to chuck it because it's not very long - so I snapped it up instead! It makes me feel so virtuous when I recycle! The sentiment is also LotV, the butterflies and flowers coloured with Sakura Stardust pens, and matted onto a piece cut with a Spellbinders Floral Doily die. All the paper lace has been distressed with Spun Sugar DI. The pink roses and hearts on the image ...

DT card for Dream Valley Challenge 29 Wedding/Love

Image
Good morning, all! I hope those of you who have had snow aren't too discommoded! Massive apologies for the lateness of this post! We've had internet problems - so frustrating! But here I am at last for this fortnight's Dream Valley Challenge and our theme is Weddings or Love. There's a special reason for this, Mel, one of our lovely teamies got married at the weekend! Our lovely regular sponsor One Stop Card Crafts is offering a £10 voucher for the lucky winner! Now for the card: The image is by Whiff of Joy I think it's so romantic! I used stamps from their 'Christmas Swirls' collection to make an arch effect, using Broken China Distress Ink and stickles. There are more stickles on the yellow trim, and Glossy Accents on the hearts. The pretty paper is by Kate Knight, a freebie from a mag. Gems and lace are from stash. I forgot to list the Promarkers used before I put them all away - slapped wrist! Do have a look at the DT's creations, Mel (the Bride!...

LotV wedding card meets SSW

Image
Hi, guys! Sorry I haven't been around a lot lately, I am having a Grand Tidy Up of the WHOLE HOUSE and it's taking forever! Honestly, the amount of JUNK one collects over 25 years is astonishing! Thank goodness I can listen to my iPod and dance around! However, I've made time to make this card for my daughter's friend who's getting married next month. Her colour scheme is green, so I used papers from the DCWV 'Mariposa' stack, which are lovely! The image is LotV, of course, coloured with Promarkers, and I stickled parts of her dress, and also around the edge of the image. I used a Martha Stewart Hearts punch as a background for the green ribbon (from Hobbycrafts). The flowers are Wild Orchid, mostly, and the leaves were cut with a Magnolia die. Here's the inside, the wheel-shapes were cut with a MS Deep edger punch - an idea I got from a card by Bev Rochester on the Lili of the Valley 'Inspiration' section. I could spend hours browsing all the ...

Whiff of Joy Wedding Carriage

Image
My daughter asked for a card with this gorgeous WoJ stamp for a friend who's getting married. I always have a lot of trouble stamping this image, for some reason part of the greenery never wants to show! I'm entering the Whiff of Joy Challenge whose theme is 'Love is in the Air.' I used Promarkers, natch, and gold glitter on the bride's headdress and on the flowers, and liquid pearls on the hearts. The flowers (Wild Orchid) have been sprayed with glimmer mist, which doesn't show in the picture at all, chiz. The ribbon is also sparkly - unfortunately my embellies have more or less covered the MS hearts border, but it's the thought that counts. The fabulous DP is from Bearly Mine Designs The leaves were punched from some gorgeous gold paper which I found while having another Grand Tidy Up, and the pearls are from stash. Edited to Add: I forgot to say that I went over the edges of the papers with a gold ink pad to give a bit of definition! Thanks for looking, ...
