My Time to Craft DT Challenge #280 Lace

Image
Good mor - er- afternoon! Goodness, Saturday is speeding past, we have been madly tidying up as we're having visitors for tea. Not that the place is immaculately tidy, of course, but it's what my mother rather dryly called 'lived-in' instead of a total tip. However, all the craft things that osmosed their way downstairs since Christmas are now dumped in the Craft Hovel, and that needs tidying!!! Tomorrow. For now here is my card for this week's My Time to Craft Challenge, which is Lace . Nice and easy! it's ages since I coloured sweet Tilda, and I wanted to use the Magnolia Doohickey lace die that edges the horizontal band(I can't find it online to link to, but there are loads of gorgeous Magnolia lace dies out there!) so here she is! The sketch is from Dawny P's blog The papers are from Basic Grey's 'Porcelain' collection. The image and mat had their corners cut with a Woodware Reverse corner rounder punch. The card looks like...

Tilda for Christmas

Image
Hi, guys, I hope you're all doing well! This afternoon I was visited by my friend's daughter, she sat in her wheelchair and I did the ironing while we giggled at 'Top Gear' on the telly! Yes, I confess, I have a sneaky liking for 'Top Gear'! Yesterday I managed to find the Magnolia image that I 'lost' by sweeping it off my desk with my baggy cardigan sleeve and completed a Christmas card. I meant to post yesterday but I was out at a meeting in the evening and I got home late and knackered and went to bed instead! It was interesting to colour the same image with Spectrum Noirs ( here and this one is done in Promarkers. The Speccies I used are more vivid than the Promarkers, but I like both effects, thoug I find that Promarkers blend more easily. Experimenting is fun! The stars and crown have been glamour-dusted. I used Spellbinders' Opulent Ovals' for the mats, which are cut from Centura Pearl cardstock, they have a pretty sheen that does...

When you wish upon a star...

Good afternoon, my lovelies! I hope you're all having a happy weekend. I have a TOP TIP to give you: Don't craft in a cardigan with loose, floppy sleeves! The number of times I've swept things off my craft table and onto the floor this week is ridiculous! There's one coloured-in Tilda that seems to have escaped completely! I'm halfway through cleaning my craft hovel in the hopes I'll find her! Amidst all the kerfuffle I did manage to finish one card without a mishap: The Sketch is from Seems a Little Sketchy and I flipped it over. The papers are Nitwits (though I didn't make a note of the collection, sorry!). I used a Spellbinders Romantic Rectangles die on Tilda's blue mat, and the leafy Fanciful Flourish die is by Cheery Lynn, I added sequin flowers with tiny gems glued in the middle. The sentiment is LotV, the flourish is stickled though the light hasn't caught it. I also stickled Tilda's Star wand and her cute crown. The star embe...

Water Lily Tilda

Image
Evening, all! It's been a bit chilly today, my daughter is wearing her onesie and a sweater and has her dinosaur blanket draped round her like a toga and she's still cold! I'm just grateful for thermal undies! My card tonight is reminiscent of sunnier days. I found the cute Tilda with Water Lily already coloured (with Speccies, I think) and so whipped up this: I'm sorry the picture is a bit fuzzy! I used a Spellbinders Labels Five die and distressed the edges with Tea Dye while the image was still in the die. The papers are from the snippets box again, they are all Bearly Mine. The lace is from my sewing stash, it has a pretty pink thread running through it which is not showing well! I made the bow with the same lace and glued it on. The flowers are all Wild Orchid Crafts (the biggest is a lily of course!) and the leaves are made with a Woodware punch. The gems are from stash. The tags are LotV. I blinged Tilda's dress and bow with dots of stickles. I lo...

Waterlily Tilda

Image
Evening, all! I'm not going to mention the weather... When I saw this adorable Waterlily Tilda I had to buy her - since my granddaughter is called Lillie! She's coloured in Promarkers. I put baby blue stickles on the water and magenta on the butterflies' wings, and glamour-dusted the floral arrangement - and of course it doesn't show in the picture :( I used a Nesties Labels Eight die to cut her out, and distressed the edges with Salty Ocean Distress Ink while the die was still in place - I added more colour at the bottom to extend the pond area. Papers are Nitwits Tour of London, they're so pretty! The ribbon and charm and metal corner are from stash. I went a bit 'wild' with the Wild Orchid flowers! The leaves are made with a Woodware Punch. The butterflies are shiny stickers that were a pressie from my daughter. The lovely sketch is from this fortnight's Sunday Sketch and Stamp it was just right for this! I'm also entering the curren...

Tilda and butterflies

Image
Happy Bank Holiday! Is it raining where you are? We have typical BH weather - wet, grey and cold! So I have spent the day clearing and chucking-out, and a bit of cardmaking in between! This little Tilda is one of my favourites! She looks so surprised at the butterfly that's landed on her gorgeous bow. I used some of the new *Summer Limited Edition Promarkers, they are such pretty colours I just couldn't resist them.  The challenge at A Passion for Promarkers is 'Light and Bright' - either use bright papers and soft coloured pens or vice-versa. I went for some bright papers by Raspberry Road that were free with 'Quick Cards' which are also quite shiny, though my naff camera skillz haven't really picked them up. Following an example by the lovely Jules I used checked paper from the stack instead of plain card for matting. The swirl is a Marianne die, the cute butterflies are a Woodware punch. I coloured them with Promarkers to match the image and ...

Autumn!

Image
This card is for a new challenge blog, The Cutie Pie Challenge which has a very nice sketch. Tilda is coloured with Speccies. The papers are snippets again - the horizontal strip is pearlised and through bad planning I managed to cover the pretty pattern! I put blobs of gold liquid pearls round the scallopped oval, and Glossy Accents on Tilda's shoes and orange stickles on her flowers. The ribbons are from stash and so are the flowers and the crystals. The round orange stickers are Paperchase. Right, I really ought to keep on with sorting my room (again!) Thanks for looking! luv, Mags x Spectrum Noirs: Browns - 91, 94, 98, 100, 104; Greens - 42, 43, 48, 175; Skin Tones - 132, 133, 135, 142; Yellows - 24, 33; Warm Grey 1

Tilda for Sketch N Stash

Image
Welcome to my new followers! I hope you like my waffle and my cards! Just a quick post before I zoom off to the Toddler Group! I made this for my sister, who's had a lot of niggly things going wrong with her house! So I thought a happy Tilda card would cheer her up. I have neglected this Tilda, which is a shame, as she is so pretty! The papers are new: Pink Petticoat Vintage Rose, and came with 'Quick Cards Made Easy' magazine. I love them, they are adorable! The sketch is a lovely one from Sketch and Stash Challenges and I'm sure I'll use it again. The flowers are from Wild Orchid and also from stash. I had a list of the Promarkers, but I'm in the middle of what my mum called 'A Grand Tidy-Up' and I think I grandly tidied-up the list into the bin. Wot a plonker, eh? I have started spring cleaning! All the computer cables, booklets, discs, bits'n'pieces now have their own little home - it took about 3 hours to go round the house finding all the ...

Just Magnolia and Sketch Saturday

Image
Just an uber-quick post while waiting for hubby to get home from work. I'm entering this card for the Just Magnolia Challenge and the Sketch Saturday Challenge I do like this little Tilda, who looks like Snow White! Papers are Nitwits (buds and blossoms too). I stickled the edges, and Tilda's lace. Oops, there's the front door - gotta fly! luv, Mags x Edited to add: here are some more details. Recipe: the circle has been embossed with the dots Cuttlebug folder, and Tilda cut out and popped onto foam pads on top of it. The sentiment is Whiff of Joy. Promarkers are: Tan, Cinnamon, Burnt Sienna, Blush, Dusky Pink, Pastel Pink; Cocktail Pink, Lime Zest. I like these papers so much, I didn't want to hide them with embellies (and it has to go in the post, too.) Though once again the pic is a bit washed-out, the colours are really pretty irl. Thanks for looking! luv, Mags x
