My Time to Craft Challenge #305 Alice Inspired.

Image
Hi, guys! We have an absolutely wonderful Challenge at My Time to Craft this fortnight: Alice Inspired Yep, we'd like to see anything inspired by 'Alice in Wonderland.' I went with Alice herself! The image is by Christina Dee for the much-missed Tickled Pink Stamps. Bunny Zoe's Crafts do still have some of the stamps if you want to have a look. I used a Spellbinders Floral Oval die and blue Centura Pearl card as a mat for the image. The papers are from stash, I edged the vertical strip with white card punched with a Fiskar's Apron Lace border punch and added lace from Thge Ribbon Girl and ribbon from my stash. The sentiment is by Lili of the Valley. I added a pearly flower and a tiny blue gem to Alice's hat (mainly because I made a right pig's ear of colouring the flower that's there on the image!) and added Wink of Stella clear to the butterfly visible on the background paper. Go and see the inspirational work my teamies have created,...

Seems she forgot all about the Library like she told her old man, now!

Evening, all! I hope you've all had at least some sunshine today, we had very wet rain this morning but the evening has been lovely! It's a long time since I made a card using a Tickled Pink image. This is Lil' Fashionette 50's Lilith, isn't she wonderful? I love her sulky expression - perhaps Daddy took the T-bird away! (It's a Beach Boys song. Also covered by the Carpenters. Whaddaya mean you're too young to remember either of those beat combos?!) The papers are Bo Bunny Vicki B Collection, they are wonderfully retro! I originally cut the Memory Box circle from the pink paper but it didn't show, so I used the brown card instead and filled in the middle with the paper. The sentiment is by The Greetings Farm. I distressed the edges with Tea Dye Distress Ink and put Glossy Accents on the skulls and crossbones. The ribbon was a pressie from my daughter. The flowers are Wild Orchid, and the leaves are made with a Woodware punch. The...

Oh Christmas Tree!

Image
Evening, all! I intended to spend half term crafting, but the best laid plans of Maggies and men gang oft agley! Partly that's because of the dreaded Housework, partly because... (drumroll!) I have a Kindle! Being me, I also ordered a proper book at the same time, and both arrived in the same box, which amused me. So this card has taken me 3 days to make! The sketch at Sketch Saturday looks really daunting at first - lots of circles! I actually like it a lot, though it took me a long time to find embellies for the smaller circles that I liked. The image is another elegant lady by Christina Dee from Tickled Pink Stamps I thought she'd look good as a bust. She is coloured with Promarkers, and Speccies for her hair. The bow at her neck and the candy canes are Glossy Accented, and the lace on her outfit is covered with Glamour Dust. I cut her out (mainly because I made a right pig's ear of distressing round the image) and put her on foam pads for dimension. I offset the green...

A mahoosive Christmas card!

Image
This is the biggest card I've ever made - it's an 8-incher! (Don't you dare say, 'Oo, Matron!!!') The image is a Tickled Pink stamp from last year which I picked up in the sale - it looks as though he's no longer available, unfortunately. I coloured him with Promarkers, and stickled his feather, the snowman's pom-pom, and the ground. I distressed round him in Bundled Sage DI. The papers are Dovecraft 'Tis the Season' which I've had for yonks! The sketch is the current Sketch Saturday one, and I really like it! I must use it again to use up some snippets! I faux-stitched around each square in black fineliner to give a bit more definition. I used my gorgeous new Memory Box 'Frosty' die from Crafts U Love in a scrap of gold card. The Christmas tree is a Marianne die, and the swirl is Magnolia. I made the rosette from a 1.5 x 12 inch strip, scored every quarter inch on one side, then scored again between the first scorings on the other sid...

DT box for Dream Valley Challenge 10

Image
It's time for another Dream Valley Challenge and this fortnight's theme is Ribbons Our sponsor is Crafty Ribbons and the prize is a fabulous New Bev's Ribbon Bag ! Be warned, there are several pictures to follow! I needed to make a box to send a card to a friend that used a Tickled Pink stamp, Lil Victorian Steampunk Lolita Evie. In keeping with the Victorian idea, on the lid of the box I was going to do just the image, frame and ribbon to look like a picture on the wall of a Victorian room, but I got a bit carried away with the ornamentation! The fantastic papers are a download from Bearly Mine Designs 'Vintage' set. Here's the box at an angle so you can see the ribbon tie at the front. And here's the inside. I added a piece of raffia ribbon to the front, and die-cut a Marianne butterfly. The flowers are from stash, and they're sitting on a Magnolia Doohickey flower die, and the swirl is also Magnolia. The pearls in the top corners are from Wild Or...

A rather special engagement.

My son and his girlfriend got engaged on Friday! This is the card I made for them - it's a bit OTT! I made a simplified step card for the base: fold A4 card crossways to make a tent fold, then cut down the middle to a bit less than halfway. Fold one of the flaps forward and back to make a nice crease, then invert it to make the step. This side view might be more useful than my explanation! I got the technique from Christina at the card-making-magic website Papers are Bearly Mine Designs and they're gorgeous! Flowers are Wild Orchid, the sparkly purple flourishes are Marianne. The images are Tickled Pink Stamps - I do love their stamps! Oops! I've chucked the list of Promarkers, though I remember Lil' Lad Luca's suit is done in Cool Grey 2 - 5. Martha S's hearts punch was used on the horizontal strip and Nesties fro the shapes behind the images. Ribbon and heart pin are from stash. This is the biggest card I've ever made, and it took ages! I did a bit here...

Groovy Sixties chick!

Image
This is '60s Willow from the Lil' Lolita Fashionista series by Tickled Pink Stamps Doesn't she look groovy in her brown cotton flares with the glittery shisha embroidery at the ankles, and her pale orange muslin top with the green silk ribbon. How do I know so much detail? Because I had that outfit when I was a teen! I wasn't as tall and slim, but how I loved those clothes!! The picture here looks a little faded, as usual (I blame the light!) but that's not a bad thing, because the orange card is very bright. The papers are from the Paisley Road stack by Prima, which was part of the blog candy I won from the lovely Joey The patterns and colours are so bright and retro - yes, children, we really did think that fuchsia, orange and lime green looked good together. The flowers are made with a retro punch, the patterned ones are from the dp, curled, and covered with transparent glitter embossing powder. The gleam doesn't show here, but it's so pretty! I'm v...

Friday Sketchers

Image
A Christmas card for one of my Sunday School kids, who lurves pink! The image is a Lil' Lolita from Tickled Pink Stamps - I love these quirky stamps! The sketch is this week's Friday Sketchers Challenge . I used Christmas papers from my stash (the pad is missing its front so I don't know the make!) which included the sentiment. The thin white ribbon is velvet, from Hobbycraft. I stickled her sash and bows and stuck purple gems to the middles of the snowflakes for a bit of bling. I remembered to choose the paper before colouring and matched the pink and purple snowflakes. I'm learning the tricks of the trade - slowly! My hubby is watching the footy - no, he's gone to the kitchen for a can of lager, since France are 1-0 up! I might be back with another card soon, if I can get a reasonable picture. Thanks for looking! luv, Mags Promarkers: Blush, Dusky Pink, Pastel Pink, Azure; Cinnamon, Cocoa; Cocktail Pink, Antique Pink; Orchid, Amethyst.

Thanks for looking, and have a good evening. luv, Mags x Recipe: Stamps: Lil' Lolita Evie; Penny Black text Promarkers: Tulip Yellow, Almond, Vanilla, Pastel Pink, Burnit Orange, Honeycomb, Azure Papers: DCWV and Basic Grey Lime Rickey Woodware North-West corner punch Black paper and card candy from stash

Gothy Girl

Image
This is my second post for today!! For my birthday present to me I indulged in some fabulous stamps from Tickled Pink Stamps and here's a card I made with one of them. Her name's Lilith. Isn't she wonderful? I was experimenting with monochrome, and since she has that skull hairclip, I chose Goth colours: grey and black and white. I punched a Woodware snowflake pattern to go behind the flowers in the corner, but they don't show very well. And the roses she's holding should be much brighter! It's not my usual style, but my daughter likes it! Thanks for looking! luv, Mags x Recipe: Promarkers: Ice Grey 2, Ice Grey 4, Almond, Vanilla, Azure, Cocktail Pink, Mint Green, Magenta. Papers: Charcoal Pad - DCWV I think (cover is lost). Leaf punch (unknown manufacturer) Inverted corner punch (Woodware) White glitter paper, spotty ribbon, black gloss card, flowers from stash
