Last card of 2011!

Image
Happy New Year! I hope you lovely people all have a wonderful, crafty 2012! Here's a card I made for my hubby to give our daughter. She is a fan of Steampunk and Hubby doesn't do cute at all, so of course I had to use one of my favourite Tickled Pink stamps. The current Tickled Pink Challenge is to choose a favourite challenge from last year. I combined two - no. 45 'Vintage' and no 38 'Buttons and Twine. The designer paper at the back is Bearly Mine's 'The Boys Zone.' The vertical strip was made with Distress Inks following Tim Holtz's video here on 'Perfect Distress.' I then stamped a key pattern on top (can't tell you the stamp, it's packed away upstairs, sorry!) The cogwheels are a Tim Holtz die. I coloured the paper in the same way with Distress Inks, then put it through a crimper to give texture before die-cutting. The sentiment is by Whimsy Stamps, and so is the die I used to cut it. The 'twine' over the key pattern i...

Tickled Pink Challenge ans Sketch Saturday

Eep! I almost missed the deadline for the Tickled Pink Challenge . The current challenge is 'Textures' and I've used raffia ribbon (I think that's what it's called?) and a strip of dark purple velvet ribbon, both from stash. I also made a 'mirror' using two nestie dies, with holographic card and a frame which has been embossed and then swiped with Milled Lavender DI. The lovely image is one of the new Lil Victorian range, isn't she beautiful? A pleasure to colour, too! The sentiment is Penny Black, the fab papers are a Bearly Mine download. The flowers are Wild Orchid. The sketch is from Sketch Saturday which I turned on its side. Ok, gotta fly if I'm to get this posted! Take care! luv, Mags x Promarkers: Blush, Dusky Pink, Pastel Pink, Ivory, Cinnamon, Cocoa, Henna, Lavender, Orchid, Amethyst, Mulberry

Double the fun!

My friend Julia's twin girls have just turned 24! I made them each a card, using this week's Mojo Monday sketch. This one is for Clare: The image is one of the Tickled Pink Fashionette stamps (their site is down for maintenance so I can't link directly!) The papers were free with a magazine, they have a lovely vintage feel. The sentiment was also a freebie! The nestie shape is embossed with little hearts, and distressed with Shabby Shutters, and stickled. I used Martha Stewart's doily lace border punch, a Magnolia Doohickey die for the leaf stems, and an EK Success Retro punch for the flowers, which I coloured to match the ones on the bp, then slathered with Glossy Accents. The round stickers are Paperchase (so useful!) This one is for Sarah: Except for using Basic Grey 'Origins' papers, slightly different colours and a different TP image, this card is identical! I embossed the nestie shape and swiped a Shabby Shutters ink pad across it, instead of distressin...

Tickled Pink Challenge

2 posts in one evening! I am really pleased with this! The challenge at Tickled Pink is 'Vintage Colours' which is just right for this fabulous Lil Victorian steampunk image I love this adventurous lady! I had fun dabbing glossy accents on her goggles, watch and those gorgeous boots! Papers are DCWV Rockstar pad, the chipboard word is from stash. I went round all the edges with Vintage Photo DI and then stickled in copper, cut out Lilith and raised her on foam pads, and that was that! Simples! Right, time to finish my cuppa and trail off to bed. Goodnight, all, and thanks for looking! luv, Mags x Promarkers: Blush, Dusky Pink, Pastel Pink; Caramel, Burnt Sienna, Cocoa, Henna; Putty, Ivory; Duck Egg Blue, Cornflower; Cool Grey 2 - 4

I may have overdone the flowers on this one...

Just a quick post - I am away to Oxford tomorrow to see my Sis, and wanted to get this card done for her tonight. I've used one of the adorable Tickled Pink Stamps Fashionettes - this is 20s Evie. I decoupaged her cloche hat and put it on foam pads, and also raised the image on foam pads. The sketch is the current Tickled Pink Challenge . Paper is from stash - yep, I'm slowly using it up, but I'm sure more scraps fall through a wormhole in space, because the box never seems to get emptier! Flowers are a mix of Wild Orchid and from stash - the purple rose has turned out brown in the picture, but it is purple, honest! The rose on Evie's dress is also Wild Orchid. The Magnolia Doohickey swirl is done in sparkly purple paper - I have wanted this die for ages, and finally bought it last week! The leaves are punched with a Woodware punch. I also embossed the horizontal spotty strip with the Victorian embossing folder and my Cuttlebug, though it doesn't show very well! Th...

Tickled Pink Challenge

Morning, all! Huzza! It's nearly the weekend and I think the sun is trying to shine! Put it this way: it's not raining and there are a few blue splodges in the sky. Spring is on its way!! Ok, that's enough waffle. Here is one of the quirky Lil' Lolita Fashionettes: This is 80s Sookie. Isn't she fun? The hair! The leg-warmers! The cycle shorts! The ra-ra skirt! She always makes me smile. I'm entering this card for Tickled Pink Challenge who want a TAG of some kind. The sketch is once again from this weeke's Sketch Saturday The card is tag-shaped: I wanted to use a luggage tag for the layer behind Sookie, but it's the wrong size and Sookie looked as though she was banging her head against the string tie as she was dancing! Very uncomfortable, don't you think?? Papers are Basic Grey 'Sugar Rush' which is one of the many paper pads I have in my stash which I stroke and pet and don't use because they're too beautiful. I am DETERMINED to ...

Tickled Pink Challenge

The current Tickled Pink Challenge is to use punching. I cropped this stamp of Birthday Luca and gave him red hair and a blue suit because the recipient's favourite video game character looks rather like this! The papers are: blue striped from stash; Basic Grey Lime Ricky; and Paper Artsy Rum and Raisin. I used Martha's zigzag punch on two layers, and a ribbon from stash. The 4 gems were a Chrissy pressy from my daughter - she says it's much easier to get me things now I'm a cardmaker! Thanks for looking! luv, Mags x Recipe: Promarkers Blush, Putty; Vanilla, Honeycomb, Burnit Orange; Azure, Powder Blue, Sky Blue, Royal Blue, Indigo. I stickled his buttons and earring - he's a very snazzy chap!
