My Time to Craft DT Challenge #288 Umbrellas

Image
'March winds and April showers Bring forth May flowers.' Since it's April, the new challenge at My Time to Craft is Umbrellas Fortunately, I haven't needed an umbrella in a while, as we've had gorgeous sunshine and mild weather for several days now! However, it never does to underestimate the British weather's ability to turn cold and wet in the summer! I have used an older stamp, 'Winter Wonderland' from Sugar Nellie for a winter birthday card. She is coloured in Promarkers, and I added Pearl Pen to the falling snow. The papers are Frosty Christmas by Lili of the Valley. There are 3 glittered snowflakes cut with a Lawn Fawn Stitched Snowflakes die The gems and stars are from stash. CHALLENGES I'm entering: Sweet Sketch Wednesday 2 supplied the wonderful sketch: Go and see what my teamies have made, and join in the Challenge! Thanks for looking and have a great weekend! love Mags B x

Believe

Image
Evening, all! I hope you're having a good weekend. Today it's been 'batten down the hatches' day because of the snow - the road in our cul de sac is sheet ice, I kid you not! It's going to be an interesting drive to Church tomorrow morning! Just before Christmas I was lucky enough to win a prize from Sugar Nellie - this gorgeous stamp, which is  Believe by Diane Duda for Sugar Nellie and some lovely paper, ribbon and charms. I spent some time doing housework today having promised myself a session with the prize, and this is the result I used Promarkers to colour her, and a Spellbinders 'Romantic Rectangles' die, and I distressed the edges with Worn Lipstick DI. The wings have been stickled. I used a Magnolia Doohickey die for the three 'leaves' and the roses are from WOC. I also decorated the inside, I'm determined to do this more often, it keeps down the overflow from the Snippets box! I'm going to enter The Sugar Bowl Challenge w...

Sugar Nellie Snowmen

Image
Hi, guys! It's been a week of pottering - you know, a bit of housework here, a bit of shopping there, a bit of cardmaking when I have half an hour spare... Though I've bought and wrapped 2, yes, two Christmas presents! Only another 16 to go... I've made the Christmas card for my son and DiL, this gorgeous Sugar Nellie image is just right for them, it is so sweet! I'm sorry the picture is so dim, I used my Daylight Lamp to take the picture but the image came out a bit faded :( The papers are Dovecraft 'Tis the Season' they are very bright and cheerful. The snowflakes are from the Spellbinders Create a Flake 4 from J and C Creations and are covered with Glamour Dust. The teardrop gems are from stash. The sentiment is from the Penny Black 'Celebrate the Wonder' stamp set. I stickled the lady's hat trim and also the snowflakes I decorated the inside, reversing the papers: I'm entering this to the Sugar Bowl Challenge where I f...

Luv a latte!

Image
Evening all! What a wet, wet, wet day! I hope none of you was caught in any heavy showers! It's a good evening for staying in and being creative. My hubby is away for two nights, so I'm luxuriating in being able to craft downstairs without someone growling, 'You're not making a MESS are you?' The answer is always - yes! Now for the card! I've had this Sugar Nellie Simply Sassy 'Luv a Latte' stamp for a while, and she is just ideal for my goddaughter's birthday card. I coloured her with Promarkers - and I changed what I suspect are meant to be boots into thick socks. My goddaughter lives in Canterbury, which I know from experience can get soooo coooold! Brr! So thick socks are definitely necessary! Papers are from my snippets box, they were freebies a couple of years ago from a magazine. Lace is from stash, too, and so are the gems. I used a Magnolia doo-hickey die for the swirl and dragonfly which is cut from a scrap of pearlised card an...

Let's Rock, Baby!

Image
I have spent 40 minutes trying to get a decent photo of this card! The green bp is brighter irl, and shades from darker to lighter going from left to right. The rock idol's red outfit is brighter, too. Grr! I blame the crummy light. Anyway, this rockin' chappie is a Sugar Nellie, and I'm entering the card in The Sugar Bowl challenge, which this week is a sketch. Papers are from my scrap box and I stickled the edges. The swirls are a Marianne die, and I stickled them in red. The star and gem are a RAK from my Dear Daughter. I used a Martha Stewart punch for the trim, and Woodware punch for the squares. The squares also have dots of red Liquid Pearls on the corners. I printed the sentiment from my little laptop. Now I must, must, must tidy my room! Wish me luck, I'm going in! Thanks for looking! luv, Mags x Promarkers: Blush, Dusky Pink, Pastel Pink, Putty, Ivory, Cinnamon, Cocoa, Cool Grey 5, 4, 2, 1, Ruby, Crimson, Poppy, Lipstick

The Sugar Bowl Challenge

Image
Have any of you been to Glastonbury? I've only seen pictures on the telly, and I'm jolly glad! Camping in the rain and mud was something I did as a kid (wherever my family camped the rain always followed us) Been there, done that. This little chappie, though, is on stage at Glastonbury! There's brown mud, green grass (the growing kind, you naughty people, not the wacky kind!) and blue rain. But there are star-shaped floodlights picking him out, and he's about to be famous! Ok, ok, enough storytelling! This cute chap is a Sugar Nellie and the sketch (which does look a wee bit like a stage, you gotta admit!) is this week's Sugar Bowl Challenge with the option of 'One For The Boys.' It came along at the right moment, because my daughter wants a card to send to a friend, and the sketch was pretty inspiring! ok, time to see if the stew's cooked. Have a good evening, and thanks for looking! luv, Mags x Recipe: Promarkers Blush, Dusky Pink, Pastel Pink; Cocoa,...

The Sugar Bowl Challenge

Just a quick post before I zoom off to the Toddler Group! It's another grey, damp day, but seeing the children and their mums having fun always brightens things up! Another faded piccie, I'm afraid. This adorable manga princess is a Sugar Nellie image, and the sketch is from The sugar Bowl Challenge You can just about see the end of the ribbon on the left hand side! Papers are K and Co, from Hobbycraft, where I also got the ribbon. Promarkers are: Blush, Dusky Pink, Pastel Pink, Tulip Yellow, Gold, Orchid and Powder Blue. I stickled her dress trimmings and headdress. I'm really pleased with this one! Thanks for looking. ok, gotta go. Have a good day, folks, and keep smiling - the rain has to stop soon!! luv, Mags x
