My Time to Craft! #390 Men Only

Image
Hi, guys! I hope you're all keeping well! We have a new Challenge at My Time to Craft! which is Men Only. Yep, we're asking for those tricky cards for the Blokes! I have made a card for a boy. This is Fenton Frog by Sweet'n'Sassy stamps, he is so cute! ALL the papers and card (except the card base were made with Snippets from the scrap drawer! The sentiment came with the image and I cut it out and layered it onto a folded banner die-cut by Simon Says Stamp, using a scrap of green glittery card. I added green Nuvo Drops as an embellishment as well as two tiny green hearts on the banner. I am determined to make a real effort to use up snippets this year!! Go and see the fab work left on the Challenge blog by my teamies! Thanks for looking and have a great weekend! love Mags B x

The Squirrel and the Fox DT Challenge #77 For a male.

Image
Afternoon, all! Once again I apologise for any typos, I am still using the elderly laptop with the dodgy keyboard! At The Squirrel and the Fox we are being especially challenging this time - make a card for a bloke! So put away the ribbons and lace and flowers, you won't need 'em!! Our sponsor is the fabulous Sweet'n'Sassy Stamps who are offering a lucky winner 3 free digis from their store! The DT have used some of their gorgeous images: this one is the Lighthouse digi stamp. It is perfect for my brother's birthday later this month, as he and his family like to go sailing. I used some cloud patterned paper from stash for the background, then cut out an island shape in brown spotted paper. The image is coloured in Promarkers, with lots of gold glitter on the lamp, hallenge! and I cut it out and added it with foam pads for dimension. The 'sea' is torn strips of patterned blue paper, with stickles along the white edges, which is sparkly in real l...

The Squirrel and the Fox DT Challenge #73 Christmas in July

Image
Hi, guys! I hope you're having a good weekend, with plenty of sunshine! Here in S-E Herts we have alternating drizzle and rain. Gotta love the summer! It's another Christmas Challenge at The Squirrel and the Fox and we have a wonderful sponsor, Sweet'n'Sassy . A winner will have 3 of their fab digis as a prize! This cutie is Pippin the Penguin with Christmas Lights. I used Promarkers, and added Glossy Accents to the lights. The papers are snippets, and the holly ribbon has been knocking around my stash for a couple of years. The holly vine is a memory Box die, with berries of red Liquid pearls. The glittered snowflake is a Martha Stewart punch. The sentiment is by Paper Smooches and I embossed it in green. Go and see the merry makes that my teamies have created to be inspired to make your own Christmas cards! Thanks for looking! love Mags B x

The Squirrel and the Fox DT challenge #65 Autumn or Spring

Image
Good morning, my lovelies! I hope the sun is shining for you today! The Challenge at The Squirrel and the Fox is Autumn or Spring which is appropriate for crafters in both hemispheres at the moment! Our sponsor is Sweet'n'Sassy Stamps and there is a great prize of 3 of their digis for the winner! The DT were fortunate enough to choose images to work with: this little mouse is Cocoa, isn't he cute? I used Promarkers - for Cocoa's fur I dotted on the colours rather than using the normal circular mothions, to give the impression of fur. Unfortunately I can't find my list of colours I used - I knew it was a mistake to tidy my craft hovel! The blue bow has been Glossy Accented. The mat uses a Spellbinders Floral Oval die, and I distressed the edges with Worn Lipstick DI. The papers were a freebie with a magazine some time ago and for a change I added them as triangles. The sentiment is by Penny Black, I thought it suited Cocoa and the big bunch of flowers! Th...

The Squirrel and the Fox challenge #56 Animal Antics

Image
Good morning! And Happy November - can you believe it's November already?! I'm sure that time is speeding up as we go through the 21st Century!!! It's also time for another Challenge at The Squirrel and the Fox . Our theme this time is Animal Antics and our great sponsor is Sweet'n'Sassy Stamps who are offering 3 of their adorable digis to a lucky winner! The DT could work with some of their stamps, I chose Santa Owl I just love his startled expression! I coloured him with Promarkers and added Glamour Dust to the trim on his hat. I fussy cut him (mainly because I managed to go over the edge by his ear and trying to repair the damage only made it worse! Oh dear!) and added him with foam pads to a square of paper cut out with a Spellbinders Square Die. The mat is another Spellbinders die, this one is Lacey Squares. The papers were a magazine freebie, they are Christmas Carnival by Kaisercraft, and the colours are so pretty! The sentiment is from the same ...

For my card I used one of the adorable Cocoa Mouse digis, this is Cocoa's Chocolates The papers came free with a magazine, they are by Lilly Bimble and they are so pretty! I used my Cheery Lynn french Pastry doily die to cut the doily and distressed the edges with worn Lipstick DI. The ribbon is from Hobbycraft, the flowers are from Wild Orchid Crafts, and the twigs are made with a Nellie Snellen punch. The sentiment is by Lili of the Valley, stamped in Worn Lipstick distress Ink.
