My Time to Craft Christmas #54 Snowflakes.

Image
Good morning! I hope you're all keeping well.  I am very excited to tell you that my daughter Sacha is in hospital because her baby is on the way! So this weekend Ye Olde Manne and I will be welcoming a new granddaughter.  Her name is Fiadh (pronounced 'Fee-a') and her big brother Oscar is so excited! Now on to our new Challenge at  My Time to Craft Christmas  which is sadly going to be my last.  I am taking a break from all my DTs.  Our new theme is Snowflakes. My first card has a stencilled background. The stencil has lost its packaging, and I don't know who made it.  I used blue mirror card for the mat and the sentiment, which is from and old MFT die.  I added White Blizzard Glitter Drops by Nuvo to the middles of the snowflakes and the dots as well. Card number 2 is made with the beautiful ISSA layering Snowflake dies by  Birch Press Designs  which seems to be out of print. I used 3 shades of blue cardstock for the layers and s...

The Holly and Ivy Christmas Challenge #129 Anything Christmas Goes

Image
Hi, guys! We have a new Christmas Challenge at  The Holly and Ivy  to give you extra inspiration for your Christmas creating! Every year I make a dozen tags for a very dear friend.  This year I knew I wanted to include a snowflake.  I was inspired by  this video  by Jess Crafts; and  this video  by Ardyth.  Check them both out on Youtube, they are so inspiring! I used scraps of mirror and holographic card, and an old Martha Stewart punch.  The frames were cut using Spellbinders square dies: I cut the larger die first, then lined up a smaller die in the middle to create the frame.  The white cardstock was cut with a wonky stitched square die from Craftstash (now out of print) and I used my Cropadile to punch holes for the ribbons. Check out our new Challenge and get Christmassy! Thanks for looking and take care. love Mags B x

Dream Valley #239 Winter/Snow and a DT Call!

Image
Hello, my dearios! Welcome back to Dream Valley! Our first Challenge for 2021 is Winter and/or Snow.    Our sponsor is Di's Digital Stamps - do check out Di's very cute and pretty designs. She is also having A SALE!   I have used an old set of layered snowflakes dies my My Favorite Things - unfortunately it seems to be no longer available. I used Distress Oxide inks in Tumbled Glass, Salty Ocean and Blueprint Sketch to blend colour onto the background, then glued down snowflakes cut from glitter and white cardstock. The banner and sentiment are from Simon Says Stamp and came in a kit.   I'm very sad that I have had to cancel my Simon Says Stamp kit subscription, as the post-Brexit VAT and customs duties make it too expensive. These kits saw me through 2016, when I was treated for cancer - it was like having a birthday present every month! Maybe one day I can subscribe again.   Go and see my teamies' fab creations and check out our D T Call...

Snowflake

Hi, guys! It's a gorgeous autumn day and the sun is shining, so of course I'm tackling my list of Christmas cards! This was quite quick to make, apart from easing the snowflakes out of the Whiff of Joy die! The background is by Kanban, the colour is shaded from dark to light and as you can see there are little bits of silver here and there. The 3 snowflakes have been Glamour Dusted thoroughly (though it isn't showing brilliantly, I blame the photographer!) and held together with a Papermania gem brad which was originally clear so I coloured it with a Sapphire Flexmarker. The sentiment came free with a magazine last year. I'll be making more of these! But first I must clear my craft hovel - I'm sure there's a carpet somewhere under the boxes of crafty stuff! I'm entering this to the Cute Card Thursday Challenge as their theme is 'Glitter.' I'm also entering Crafty Hazelnut's Christmas Challenge as Hazel want to see Snowflakes! Th...
