CRAFT Challenge #453 Three of a Kind

Image
Hi, guys! We have a fun theme at CRAFT Challenge - Three of a Kind. My card made me smile even while I was making it, the smiling stars are so happy! This is 'Happy Stars' by Rick St Dennis and sadly it's no longer available. I used Salty Ocean Distress Ink around the edges and also around the sentiment. Sadly the Simon Says Stamp sentiment is also out of print. I die-cut a star as a mat - originally I used patterned paper, but it didn't show very well so I went with cardstock. The papers are from stash. I used double sided tape and glitter to make the border strips. My Three of a Kind are the 3 stars of the image; the 3 gold stars on the sentiment; and (if the cardstock counts!!) 3 papers. Our sponsor is Rick St Dennis Thanks for looking! love Mags B x

CRAFT Challenge #439 Add ribbon and distress your card

Morning, all! I hope you're having a good week. We have a new theme at CRAFT Challenge which is to Add Ribbon and Distress your card . I don't normally make Hallowe'en cards, and in fact this is intended as a birthday card for someone who loves creepy horror stories!! The fun image is Calista the Witch by Rick St Dennis. All the papers, the sparkly ribbon, the spiders and the webbing are from the October kit by Love From Lizi . The tag is a little advert for a potion made of snake scales - it looks as if the snake curled around Calista's had has seen it and is alarmed!! I distressed the edges of the background paper with scissors, and added Distress Ink in Pumice Stone around the image. Our sponsor is Rick St Dennis Thanks for looking! love Mags B x

CRAFT Challenge #401 - Inspiration Picture.

Good morning! I hope you're all looking forward to a great weekend! While you're waiting, have a look at our new Challenge at CRAFT Challenge which is this lovely picture for you to take inspiration from: This goldfinch sitting on a thistle is so pretty! From the picture I took the colours red, yellow and brown; the thistle; and that a flock of goldfinches is called a 'charm'! The elegant image is Marseilles Chapeau by Rick St Dennis MFA - sadly she is out of print, but he has other similar, gorgeous images! I coloured her with Promarkers. I added Wink of Stella to the feathers in her chapeau, and pearl drops to her jewellery. The papers are snippets from my scraps drawer. The flowers are from Wild Orchid Crafts, and have been glittered. The kraft die-cuts are made with a Memory Box Chloe Stem. The ribbon and the bird charm are also from stash. The sentiment is from Altenew's Label Love. We have two fab sponsors this week: Crafty Ribbons Ri...

CRAFT Challenge #388 -Sketch.

Hiya! I apologise for the late arrival of my post, but a tiny grandson (and his mum!) is visiting for the weekend and I got distracted! Our Challenge at CRAFT this week is a sketch: We have two lovely sponsors this week: Rick St Dennis MFA and Craft Classes Online I have used a sweet image by Rick St Dennis, this is Canton Chic I used papers from a very old Docrafts paper pad. Miss Canton Chic has stickles on the rose in her hair, and Wink of Stella on the pink flowers on her kimono and lantern. The sentiment and dragonflies are by Woodware - again, it's very old! I added the sentiment on top of a Spellbinders Fancy Tags die-cut. The vines are also made with a Spellbinders die. The flowers are by Prima and the dazzlers are Papermania. The gems and ribbon are from stash. Have a look at how my talented teamies have used this versatile sketch, then try it out yourself! Thanks for looking! love Mags B x
