My Time to Craft! #379 Under the Sea

Image
Hi, guys! I hope you're having a lovely weekend! Ye Olde Manne and I have just spent a week in Beautiful North Norfolk, visiting stately homes, riding on a train pulled by a steam engine, watching birds and reading. It was so restful! Now we're home again and the washing machine is working overtime. It's also time for a new Challenge at My Time to Craft! whose theme is Under the Sea. Before I go on, please note that the day for our Challenge is changing. From the next Challenge WE ARE CHANGING FROM FORTNIGHTLY SATURDAYS TO FORTNIGHTLY FRIDAYS. For my card I used an image from Pollycraft - which is now under the wing of Little Miss Muffet Stamps. Unfortunately this mermaid is no longer available, but do check out the adorable Chester the Monkey! I used blue and green papers from the snippets drawer and White Nuvo Drops. I went round the image with Evergreen Bough Distress Ink. The sentiment is made with a die from a Love from Lizi kit. Have a look at my...

C.R.A.F.T Challenge #303 Mother's Day/Female

Image
Hi, guys! Our Challenge this week is to make a card for a lady - either for Mother's Day or for any other female! Our sponsors are Little Miss Muffet Stamps I made an easel card, using lots of pink! The adorable image is Kiki Bloom . I cut my bases using a large Go Kreate Frilly Frames #2. I used Worn Lipstick Distress ink to colour it, then used an Interference Red perfect Pearls Mist to give it some shine. The papers are from the Bonnets and Bowties paper pad by LOTV, and the sentiment is also by LOTV. The white swirls and the dragonfly are cut with Magnolia Doohickey dies. The flowers are from Wild Orchid Crafts. For the base I used the same papers and also a piece of ribbon and some lace from stash. Go and see what my teamies have made, then dig out your prettiest, girliest stash and join in the Challenge! love Mags B x

Birthday cards for a bloke!

Image
I was asked to make a couple of cards for my friend's brother's birthday. He's a fan of Tottenham Hotspur Football Club (Come On You Spurs!) so the card from my friend was quite straightforward. The second was from my friend's kids - both of them love 'Doctor Who' and I went for an 'Alien' theme. The football background paper came from my stash, and the main image is a computer 'Wallpaper' from the net, which I downsized to fit the card. I layered it on silver, white and blue card. The sentiment is heat embossed in blue. The numbers are die-cut from silver card with a Memory Box die. The cute alien is an old digi from Pollycraft. I replaced the original balloon he's holding with a larger one from a 'Simon Says Stamp' Valentine set, and added the die-cut numbers from the same Memory Box die set. The papers are Cosmo Cricket. The sentiment also came from Pollycraft, I embossed it in white. The name is made with some Basic Grey sti...

'I was a teenage alien!'

Image
Hi, guys! Isn't this little alien cute? He's from the Pollycraft Critters and Cogs set. The current Pollycraft Monday Challenge theme is 'Celebrations,' with the optional extra of 'Stars and Stripes.' It's their 100th challenge and there's a fantastic prize, including a cd of 100 digis!! Actually, I'd already decided to use this cutie, which is for a young man who is about to turn 13. He's a keen 'Dr Who' fan so the choice was pretty easy! The sketch is based on the Sketch Saturday one this week, but I adapted it to suit the proportions of the image. Papers are Nitwits 'Spaced Out' digipapers. I used a Martha Stewart stars punch for the border, and a Woodware punch for the stars, which are glitter card. The sentiment is Lili of the Valley - so useful! You can get various words to fit into the basic ticket shapes. I also put green liquid pearls on the stars on the banner, which has given a crunchy-looking texture that I rather li...

Pollycraft Fairy

Well, it's certainly been an interesting time at the Manor! Last week the old man and I zoomed off to Suffolk for a short break (isn't the Internet wonderful? A room booked on a Tuesday and we were there the next day!) We had a lovely time strolling around the bird reserve at Minsmere and we saw the remains of Dunwich, the town that fell into the sea. Legend says you can sometimes hear the old church bells ringing under the sea... Then on Tuesday my son came home for a flying visit with the news that he'd got married on Monday! My baby!!! Talking of babies, I'm now allowed to announce that his wife is expecting their first in December. It's all rather exciting! I haven't crafted for days and days, but this is a card I made before we went away - I've missed all the challenges I intended it for, but never mind! I've also lost all my notes on what I used, but the cute image is Pollycraft, and I stickled her wings. The papers are DCWV Garden Stack, the roses...

Pollycraft Monday Challenge and Mojo Monday and The Corrosive Challenge

Image
The theme at the Pollycraft Monday Challenge is 'pastel colours' which seemed ideal for a spring-time card. The image is a Pollycraft digistamp. The papers are MME 'Bloom and Grow.' The sketch is from Mojo Monday - I like sketches that show off pretty papers and this one is perfect for that! The lace is backed by a shimmery organza ribbon, to give more definition, and irl it sparkles when the light catches it, but the bow is the lace au naturel. 'Lace and pearls' is the theme for The Corrosive Challenge It's another grey, dank day today. Thank goodness we can make cards in pretty colours to cheer us up! Thanks for looking! luv, Mags x Promarkers: Vanilla, Honeycomb, Satin, Pastel Pink; Canary, Henna; Mint Green, Pear Green, Pastel Green, Buttercup. Nesties and Woodware Daisy Punch

Pollycraft Monday Challenge and Friday Sketchers

Image
I love these Pollycraft 'Critters and Cogs' digis! This little chappie is really thrilled with his birthday cake! I'm entering the Pollycraft Monday Challenge whose requirement is to use chipboard. I used 3 sparkly stars that came free with a mag. The sketch is Friday Sketchers . Papers are from my scraps box: the black background was also from a mag, but I can't recall who made the others, since the label's gone! I glittered round the image and along the strips of dp. To mat the image I drew round the outside of the die that I used to cut the image and cut it out. I hope you're not having a lot of trouble with snow and ice. S-E Herts has only seen a quarter inch of snow, but the wind is just bitter! Brrrr! Stay warm! luv, Mags x Recipe: Promarkers Azure, Royal Blue, Satin, Caramel, Cocoa, Shale, Cool Grey 2, Gold, Pearl Blue, Powder Blue, Lipstick Red.

Green card for matting and everything else from stash. Sorry about fly-by post, I have a fish pie in the oven! Thanks for looking luv, Mags x

Pollycraft Monday Challenge

Image
It's another digi image! I'm getting the hang of these, I hope. It's so helpful to have a daughter or son to explain the mysteries of the digital age! This is for Pollycraft Monday Challenge whose theme is 'In Stitches.' The image is from Pollycraft's Critters and Cogs set which I think is brilliant for boys, girls and Science Fiction fans like my hubby! The stitching is doodled, so I hope it counts! I like the effect round the image and sentiment, it gives a nice defined outline without being fussy. Hubby smiled when he saw this card, so it's not triggered his 'I Don't Do Cute' Meter. Go, me!! Iused Promarkers: Leaf Green, Lush Green, Tulip Yellow and Gold. The star has been stickled and the card candy is from Paperchase - originally I was going to use star shaped jewels, but because the recipient will be under 3 I had better thoughts! Paper is Daisy Bucket 'My Little Monsters' which came in a special offer pack from Dies To Die For w...
