CRAFT Challenge #452 Distress Your Project/Vintage

Image
Good morning! We have a great theme at CRAFT Challenge this week: Distress/Vintage. This fab Art Deco style image is Talk to Myself by Pickled Potpourri. I used some very old black and white paper from my stash and a gorgeous piece of lace from a Crafteezee kit from Noor! Design. I roughed up all the edges with scissors and used Pumice Stone ink to distress them. The feathers are made with an old stamp which came with a magazine, I gold-embossed and fussy-cut them, then added them with a gold dazzler from Hobbycraft. Our sponsors this week are: Pickled Potpourri and DRS Designs Have a look at my teamies' creations on the challenge blog, they are gorgeous! Thanks for looking, and have a great day! love Mags B x

CRAFT Challenge #444 Christmas Present.

Image
My goodness, it's Thursday already! Where did the week go??? Mind, I have now bought most of the Christmas Presents (isn't the Internet wonderful?) which is appropriate because our new CRAFT Challenge is Christmas PRESENT not merely Christmas! (I apologise for the wonky picture!) The paper comes from The Magic of Christmas paper pad by Dovecraft. I added strips of Washi to look like ribbons tying up a present . The image of a present is from Christmas Doodles by Pickled Potpourri - such fun images! Icoloured 'From Me To You' in 3 shades of Copics to give an ombre effect. I punched a hole in the corner, added an eyelet and some glitter twine, and made it to represent the gift tag on top of my 'present' card! Our terrific sponsors this week are: Pickled Potpourri and DRS Designs My teamies have had a lot of fun with this challenge, do go and check out the inspiration on the blog! Thanks for looking! love Mags B x

CRAFT Challenge #404 Mother's Day/Female

Image
Mothering Sunday will be here soon, and my heart goes out to all of those whose mothers are no longer with us. Seeing all the cards in shop windows can be very painful. So I'm glad to say that our next Challenge at CRAFT Challenge is Mother's Day OR Female . I went with a generic card for a lady. The cute image is Watering Can Flowers and is a digi from Pickled Potpourri. I coloured and fussy-cut the flowers and added Wink of Stella on the petals and gold stickles in the centres, then fussy-cut the image. I used a circle die to cut out the watering can image and added the flowers on top using foam pads. The mat is cut with another spellbinders die from a snippet of purple card. The papers are from the Indie Chic series by Basic Grey, this is 'Saffron' and it seems to be out of print. I have so many older paper pads! The ribbon and the crystal dragonflies are from Hobbycraft, and the gold-embossed sentiment is from a stamp set by Penny Black called Gratitu...

CRAFT Challenge #381 Christmas

Image
Morning, all! We have our monthly Christmas theme at CRAFT Challenge which I for one am finding very useful, my stock of Christmas cards is quite respectable now! I made a gatefold card: The cute ornaments image is Ornament Tags by Pickled Potpourri. All the lines are doubled, and I went over them in sparkly gel pens, and also coloured the images on the ornaments with gel pens. The sparkle doesn't show, but it looks rather good! The rest of the colouring I did with Distress Inks. The paper came from an old magazine freebie pack, I am determined to use up all my freebie paper pads! The sentiment is made from a Simon Says Stamp die and silver mirri card. This is the inside, the paper comes from the same pad. I just used the gel pens to colour the tag. I'll be using these tags for my presents this year, they are so cute! Our lovely sponsors this week are: Pickled Potpourri (I love that quirky name!) and: The Stamping Boutique Thanks for looking, and h...

CRAFT Challenge #289 Sketch

Image
Good morning! Our challenge at C.R.A.F.T Challenge this week is this great Sketch: I did exactly what it says on the tin, and used the Sketch as is. The beautiful butterfly image is Happiness by Pickled Potpourri who are one of our sponsors this week. I coloured the butterflies with Copics (I'm loving my new Ciaos!) and brushed over some clear Wink of Stella, then used Spellbinders to cut out the image and the pink mat. I added a layer of blue paper from the old Snippets box between the image and the mat to give a bit more interest. The lace and ribbon are from stash. The doily is cut with a Cheery Lynn French Pastry doily die, and the blue butterflies are made with a Martha Stewart punch from another snippet, and also covered with clear Wink of Stella. they are attached only along the body, and the wings bent upwards. Finally, the background paper (yet another snippet!) is by Magnolia - I think it was called 'Orchard' but don't quote me! The lovely senti...
