Too late! Too late!

Image
This is a card I made for last week's challenges at Anyone for Anya and Mojo Monday Yes, I said 'LAST week!' I've had limited use of my laptop because my hubby's one threw a hissy fit and he had to borrow mine for work. Fortunately his is now working again! This cutie is an old Anya stamp that seems to be no longer available, which is a pity. She's for a good friend who is a 'Hippie Chick' and has the beads and CND scarf to prove it! I haven't got the list of pens I used - sorry! I stickled her headband and bracelets and also the butterfly on the LotV circle sentiment. The papers are Papermania Capsule Collection. Ribbon and stickers are from stash. I used an MFT Banner die for the tags, and an EK Success punch for the scalloped border which isn't showing up very well! The sketch from Mojo Monday was lovely to use, and I'm kicking myself for missing both challenges! Last week was special because on Wednesday afternoon we went up...

My first hAnglar and stAnglar card for Just Magnolia

Image
Hi folks! Suddenly it was a normal spring day ie grey skies and a chilly wind! I hope the sunshine makes a return on Friday for all the people lining the route or having street parties! I have at last got my first H and S stamps, a mini kit with a Bee Boy and Girl. Next month my dear friend's twins are being baptised, and they are perfect! I've made Isaac's card first, using the current sketch at Just Magnolia and Hanglar ans Stanglar because the sketch was just what I needed! Papers are a mix - Kanban, 'Country Diary of an Edwardian Lady' freebie set from Cardmaking and Papercraft, and a loose blue leaf from stash - I embossed the latter with my Cuttlebug 'Daisies' folder but it doesn't show too well! The ribbon on the left, which also isn't showing very well, is from stash. The flowers and the silver filigree corner are Wild Orchid, and just visible under the flowers are leaves made with a Magnolia Doohickey leaf die. I stickled the little lad...

Mother's Day card

Image
The current issue of 'Cardmaking and Papercraft' Magazine has some lovely Faye Whitaker chipboards as the free offer. I rustled up this card using Nitwits papers (Toy store Too). The flowers are made with a Woodware daisy punch, stickled, and with a blob of liquid pearls in the middle. MS supplied the doily lace punch, and Hobbycraft supplied the ribbon. The card is for a friend, who's a marvellous mum! Well, we all need to be appreciated, don't we?! Thanks for looking! luv, Mags x

Thinking of You

Image
I was very wicked last month and indulged in some new stamps from The Glitter Pot . So my trusty breadmaker and my Big Pot For Soup are working overtime - but soup is cheap, healthy and (though I say it as shouldn't) delicious, so it's a win-win situation! Especially on a grey, chilly day in S-E Hertfordshire! Anyway, I made this for my friend who had the twins on Monday, because she's home but the babies are still being monitored in hospital. It's hard for her. I think she'll like the card - she likes History, and I get a mediaeval vibe from the image, as though the flowers have been scattered on an old tiled floor. Romantic, or what? I stamped on the card itself (gosh that's scary!) and used Blue Pearl and Orchid in patches, blended together to give a soft, worn look. The flowers are all 3-D, I used Poppy and Crimson, Gold, Antique Pink and Amethyst Promarkers for them. There's a topaz gem in the middle of the poppy. The dots on the background (which can o...

Penny Black Saturday Challenge and Sketch Saturday

Image
This pretty sketch is from Sketch Saturday and I'm sure I'll use it again. The Penny Black Saturday Challenge this week is a lovely one - All My Favourite Things. Where do I begin? I love PB, especially the cute hedgies (these are from the 'Bundle of Joy' set), and I love my Promarkers, and I loved my local craft shop (where the green gingham Craft Creations paper came from) until it closed, and I love punches, especially Martha Stewart, and I love Wild Orchid crafts flowers and I love stickles!! Most of all, I love my dear friend Nic, who had twins on Monday night, so this card is for her! Hubby has given up the footy in disgust and now is playing his computer game! Thanks for looking, and I hope you're having a better evening than our footy team!! luv, Mags x PS I got the idea for the MS lace corners from the inspiring Coops I hope you don't mind, hun! Promarkers: Vanilla, Caramel, Cocoa, Ivory, Pastel Pink, Azure. The sentiment is a sticker. Papers from st...
