Dream Valley#264 More than One Fold

Image
Good morning! I hope you all had a good weekend. Ours was a wee bit breezy as 3 storms crossed the UK but everything seems calmer this morning. It's a good time to take a look at our new Challenge at Dream Valley which is to use More Than One Fold on your creation.  Our sponsor is Morgan's Art World and I used a cute image from the Garden 9 set.  I made a Gatefold card. I used pearlised papers from an old paper pad by First Edition.  The belly band is vellum, the ornate label is by Spellbinders, and the scalloped sentiment label came with a kit by Love from Lizi. Now for the inside: I did no-line colouring on the cute mushroom house using Copics.  The gold-embossed sentiment is also from an old Love from Lizi kit. I needed a 'New Home' card for a friend who is moving in March, so I was very pleased to use this sweet image! Take a look at what my teamies' have done, they have been very inventive with their card folds! Thanks for looking and have a good we...

Home Sweet Home

Hello, my lovelies! I hope you're all keeping well. Now that the Festive Season is over I have been clearing up (again!) - as usual after a visit from the Gorgeous Grandson there have been toys to put away for next time, and tiny socks (so cute!) to match! However, I found time to make a New Home card, as my daughter and son-in-law are buying a house and hope to move at the end of the month. My little girl is so grown up! The centre square is a gorgeous canvas-textured paper from a Love From Lizi megapack last year. I coloured in one of the houses with Copics. The ribbon and sequin flowers are from my stash. I can't recall where the background paper came from! The black layers have a bit of sparkle added, I have had this for yonks and I'm almost out of it! Hopefully this card will be winging its way to Ireland soon! It's such a palaver coping with all the paperwork etc. when buying a house. One thing that makes me quite angry is that the health insurance re...

Dream Valley Challenges #147 Something New

Image
Hi, guys! It's a grey, wet January day here in S-E Herts. I have been listening to music and having a MASSIVE clear-out of my craft hovel - as always when I start tidying, the room looks 10 times worse than it did, but I'm determined to get it sorted! Here is my card for the Something New Challenge at Dream Valley . I went with a New Home card, using two sweet House images from Digistamp Boutique . There is a SALE on at their site at the moment, and some gorgeous bargains to be snapped up! Go and see! I was originally going to layer the houses (which I coloured with Promarkers) onto patterned paper, but decided they looked so much more bright and cheerful against plain white. I fussy cut them and popped them onto foam squares to give some interest. Sometimes the simplest cards take me the longest, as I'm always trying and discarding different ideas! The sentiment is an old stamp from Lili of the Valley but it seems to be out of print now. Ok, time to finish...

A New Home card - and a family photo!

Image
Hi, guys! I have New Home card to share, which I made for a dear friend who is moving away Up North. I used a cute sketch from I {heart} sketches And here's my card: The paper is a freebie by Jennifer Ellory, I love the little birds! The image is by Funstamps, coloured with Spectrum Noirs (sorry, I lost the list!)I used a Spellbinders Wonky Rectangles die, and also a Die-namics Fishtail Banner die for the sentiment. The flower is punched with a small and medium Retro punch (by Tonic Studios and EK Success) and the leaf spray is from a Woodware punch: I stamped it with a Stampendous flourish in green Color Box pigment ink. Finally, the sentiment is by LotV. Challenges I'm entering: I {heart} Sketches Crafty Sentiments have a theme of 'Anything Goes!' Challenges 4 Everybody is, as always, 'Anything Goes! I can't go without posting a photo from Sunday. Hubby, daughter, son, daughter-in-law and granddaughter all travelled to Derby to visit my Dad....

Hi, guys, I'm back!

Well, I have just spent an amazing week at New Wine, a Christian Conference held at Shepton Mallet in Somerset. The weather was glorious, though just 3 days before we got there the campsite was inundated! In fact, I came back with a tan! Now that I'm home I see I have some new followers - Welcome! I hope you enjoy this madcap corner of blogland! Let me put the kettle on. One of the lovely ladies I travelled with is moving tomorrow, which obviously calls for a card. I will get to the one I made today anon, because I want to show you a card I don't like! You see, I saw on Kim Reygate's Blog that the challenge at Our Creative Corner is to show one of your cards that you don't like and give it a 'makeover.' That actually inspired me to have a go at some self-improvement!  This was going to be sent to my sister when she moved earlier this year. Now, the photo isn't so bad, but irl the colours just shriek at each other! The colouring of the image is blo...
