My Time to Craft Challenge #261 Die-cuts only

Image
Good morning! It's another great Challenge at My Time to Craft - the weeks are going by so quickly! Our theme is Die Cuts Only - that is, use die cuts and a sentiment but no image. So I made a 6x6 card out of white Centura pearl and trimmed off an inch at one side, then dug out a variety of dies: Two are from Tattered Lace: High Heel Glam and Smaller Bow which I trimmed down and then added a scrap of card behind the knot to give more definition. The oval die and the Floral Ovals dies are Spellbinders Nestabilities. The corners are a Whimsy Shapeology set, and the Sentiment is by Marianne. I used some Papermania card which has a pearlised effect. My daughter suggested drawing lines to join the corners (thanks, Sacha!) but other than that everything has been die-cut. I had such fun making this card!! Please go and see my teamies' fantastic makes, then hunt out your dies and make something gorgeous!! Thanks for looking! love Mags B x

A Little Bit of Magic Might Help!

Image
Good evening, all! I hope you're all keeping well and that you've seen a bit of sunshine today. Is Spring finally here? Certainly the weeds think so, they are becoming quite vigorous! I've been pulling them up by the handful this last week but it seems to make little difference! But I did stop to make a card. This is for a dear friend of my daughter, she hasn't been well so we are sending her a 'care package' to cheer her up. I used this lovely stamp 'A little bit of magic might help' by Norma Fickel from Whiff of Joy's 'Get Well' set. I coloured her with Promarkers (list below) and went over the potion bottles with Glossy Accents. I distressed the image and the WoJ sentiment with Milled Lavender Distress Ink. The papers are snippets from a Papermania Capsule Collection pad. I now have the Spellbinders' Matting Basics dies A and B which I used to cut out some of the papers. It's very quick! I used an old piece of broderie an...

The Squirrel and the Fox DT Challenge #29

Image
Good morning, my lovelies, and a very big welcome to my new followers! I hope you enjoy my rather eccentric corner of Blogland! It's time for a new challenge at The Squirrel and the Fox and this time the theme is really easy - Use a Ribbon Our sponsor this time is The Digi Garden and they generously sent the DT some lovely images to use. One lucky winner will be able to choose 7 of their sweet images from their online shop! This cutie is called 'Immie's Scarf' isn't she pretty?! I coloured her with Spectrum Noirs (list below) The papers I used are from a Kate Knight freebie stack that came with a magazine last year. I wanted to do softer colours than the trad Red and Green for Christmas, so I chose Pink and Aqua instead. The icicles and Christmas Tree are both by Marianne from Crafts U Love and they have been coated with Glamour Dust. I also Glamour Dusted Immie's coat trim and wellies. I distressed the image, which I cut with a Nestabilities Flora...

More Thank You cards!

Image
Hi, guys! I hope those of you who had a Bank Holiday on Monday had a good one, in spite of the rain! Here are two more of the Thank You cards I made for helpers at the Church Holiday Club earlier this month. The sketch for this one came from 'Sketch Saturday' 2 weeks ago but I made a boo-boo so didn't enter the challenge. The image is Saturated Canary and the papers are Nitwits 'Tour of London.' The swirl and the flowers are both made with Magnolia dies, and there are gems from stash in the flower centres, and the two shiny dots are stickers. The butterflies are a Martha Stewart punch, with added gems from stash, and the sentiment is my fab  Marianne die with Stickles. The ribbon is coloured with pens from the Spectrum Noirs Yellows set. This cute laddie is another Saturated Canary digi. The papers are Nitwits. I used a Martha Stewart punch for the scalloped edging, and the bakers twine is from The Ribbon Girl. More of the shiny silver Paperchase stickers...

Tilda and butterflies

Image
Happy Bank Holiday! Is it raining where you are? We have typical BH weather - wet, grey and cold! So I have spent the day clearing and chucking-out, and a bit of cardmaking in between! This little Tilda is one of my favourites! She looks so surprised at the butterfly that's landed on her gorgeous bow. I used some of the new *Summer Limited Edition Promarkers, they are such pretty colours I just couldn't resist them.  The challenge at A Passion for Promarkers is 'Light and Bright' - either use bright papers and soft coloured pens or vice-versa. I went for some bright papers by Raspberry Road that were free with 'Quick Cards' which are also quite shiny, though my naff camera skillz haven't really picked them up. Following an example by the lovely Jules I used checked paper from the stack instead of plain card for matting. The swirl is a Marianne die, the cute butterflies are a Woodware punch. I coloured them with Promarkers to match the image and ...

Another Fairy Moon card!

Image
It's me again! Here's another card using the Stitchy Bear Fairy Moon digi that I used for my Dream Valley DT card. The card base is cut with a scalloped Grand Nestie and the paper (which was loose in my paper drawer so I can't say where it came from) is done with a plain one. The background for the fairy was made with Distress Inks, this time Scattered Straw, Broken China and Spiced Marmalade. I'd seen cards with elegant trellises made from die-cut flourishes some time ago, so I thought I'd try it. It took ages to organise! I used 2 Marianne flourishes, and a Magnolia one (twice.) The bases of the Wild Orchid flowers are also made with a Magnolia die, and the butterflies are Martha Stewart. The only glitz is dots of gold Perfect Pearls on the butterflies' bodies. Too late I noticed that I stuck the image at an angle instead of straight, but luckily she seems to be admiring the top butterfly, phew! That's my excuse! I'm entering this in...

A Butterfly for Jules' Crafty Snippets

Image
It took me 20 minutes to make this card this morning, when I realised I was one Easter card short! And it's all made of snippets - the bp is Bearly mine, the butterfly is a Marianne die. I always try out dies whenever I first buy one, so this was hanging around my 'already made' box. The PB flowers were also from the same box. I used Rose Pink, Pink Carnation and Blossom Promarkers on the blooms (love how they shade together!) and Leaf Green for the leaves. I glittered the butterfly, glued everything together, et voila! The lovely Jules posts every Sunday with cards made only from snippets. She doesn't use any paper that hasn't already been cut, and her cards are inspirational. So I'm entering this to her 'Crafty Snippets Challenge'. Do go and look at her blog, I know you'll be inspired! luv, Mags x ETA: PB flowers STAMP I should have said!
