The Holly and Ivy Christmas Challenge #24 - and a DT Call!

Image
Evening, all! We have a DT Call at The Holly and Ivy so check out the post here fo all the details! As always, the Challenge is Anything Christmas Goes and it's not just for cards! However, I did make a card because I wanted to use this digi from Make It Crafty. He is called Floppy and he's so cute! All the papers are from an ancient Papermania pad, and the sentiment came free with a magazine. The ribbon is from stash. I added lots of Stickles to Floppy's hat to give him some Festive bling! We are now back to our fortnightly timetable. Go and see my teamies' creations and check out the DT Call. It's open to anyone! Thanks for looking! Goodnight, all! love Mags B x

'Darling, it's better Down where it's wetter, Take it from me!' Yes, you'll be humming the song all weekend now! Yes, our theme for this fortnight's My Time to Craft! Challenge is Under The Sea. This gorgeous mermaid is Siren of Pearls from Make It Crafty.   I used an old Magnolia die for the white card 'lace' and the papers came from stash.  The star stickers are from Paperchase.  I fussy cut the mermaid and added her to the shell image, also from Make It Crafty, on foam pads. As a last hurrah at the end of summer, have a go at a sea-themed creation! There's loads of inspiration on the My Time to Craft blog! Thanks for looking! love Mags B x

The Squirrel and the Fox DT Challenge #75 Anything Goes

Image
it's one of those all-time favourites at The Squirrel and the Fox - Anything Goes! Our wonderful sponsor is the amazing Make it Crafty And if you use one of their fab images you will get an extra shot at the prize of a $10AUS voucher for the store! I have had this gorgeous guy, Floppy for quite a while, but never got around to using him. (Shame!) And when presented with an 'Anything Goes' Challenge my default is to go with a Christmas card! I think he is so cute! The sentiment is silver-embossed: it came from another Australian stamp firm, Tickled Pink Stamps - sadly, they no longer trade as such, but CCDesigns now have some of their fab stamps by Christina Dee (she is so talented!) I used Promarkers to colour Floppy, and added Glossy Accents to his bell and Glamour Dust to the fur on his hat. The green mat is edged with a Martha Stewart Punch Around the Page Snowflake Punch. The background paper is a snippet from an old digi set by Lili of the Valley, and I ...

The Squirrel and the Fox Challenge #70 - Part 2

Image
Good morning, my lovelies! I hope all is well with you! At The Squirrel and the Fox we are halfway through our extended Challenge, Let's Hear It For The Girls Our wonderful sponsor is Make It Crafty and there are TWO chances to win! You can link a creation in the usual way, but if you use a Make it Crafty item, you'll get another entry free, gratis, and for nothing! And when you consider that the prize is a $10AUD voucher for the store, and a second voucher for using a MiC image, you'll agree that it's not to be sneezed at!! Both cards I've made for this Challenge are intended for twins who have a birthday soon. This glamorous lady is Christine Soprano and she was a delight to colour! MiC images always look daunting at first, I think, but they are so cleverly drawn that it's quite easy to see where to shade. I added stickles to the feathers on her mask and choker, and fussy cut her out and mounted her on foam pads. I used Spellbinders Elegant Label...

Our amazing sponsor is the fantastic Make It Crafty and a very lucky winner will have $Aus10 to spend at Zoe's fabulous online store! Can you tell that I'm a big fan?! I decorated a tin that used to contain peppermint sweets, using a gorgeous MiC image on the lid: And here's a side view: I used Promarkers to colour Rosabelle and fussy cut her out. I stickled the roses, and added a bit of Glossy Accents to her jewels. The paper on the top and round the tin are from the 'Fairy Belle' 6 ...

A very special challenge at The Squirrel and the Fox: Violet for Hodgkin's Lymphoma

Image
Good morning! I hope you're all having a lovely weekend! It's time for another Challenge at The Squirrel and the Fox and this time the theme is rather special to me. As I'm sure you know, my daughter Sacha was diagnosed with Hodgkin's Lymphoma, a form of cancer, this year. She has been undergoing quite fierce chemo once a fortnight: so far, the prognosis is good, as her last scan showed that she's in remission and several of the 'lumps and bumps' have disappeared. The wonderful Linda contacted me to arrange a Challenge using Violet as our theme, since that is the colour of the Hodgkin's Lymphoma ribbon. My daughter is so chuffed about such kindness - and so am I! Our main sponsor is the terrific Zoe at Make It Crafty - if you haven't come across her fab digis and chipboards, go over and have a look now! You're in for a treat! Zoe is generously offering a AU$15 voucher to spend at her online store! There's a second prize, from me an...

This time we are looking for your Whimsical creations! our wonderful sponsor is Make it Crafty , source of wonderful digis and fabulous chipboard makes, and Zoe is offering $15 Aus to spend in her store. But that's not all! if you use a Make It Crafty image for your card and you add MIC to the end of your name on mr Linky you'll be entered into an extra draw to gain a prize! How great is that?! I have been a fan for quite a while, and I already had the ideal image on my laptop. It is Metallic Flowers - I think this is whimsical, don't you? I used Promarkers to colour the image. The background paper is a snippet from my stash, it's probably by Nitwits. The flowers are die-cut from...

Good morning, all! As I type this I am watching the Eurovision Song Contest - I love it, it's so over-the-top! There is always at least one entry that is totally nuts! Well, by the time you read this the voting will be done. I used the beautiful Annabelle - she is available in rubba as well as the digi I used. I coloured her with Promarkers - and I've lost the list! What a prat. The papers are Nitwits. I used a Spellbinders Timeless Rectangle to mat the image using pearlised card from Craft Creations, and the memory Box butterflies were cut from the same card, the top layer is stuck down along the body, leaving the wings free. The ribbon is f...

Image
Hi, guys! I'm sorry I'm so late with this, I should have scheduled it but time has been running away with me this week! Hopefully things will settle back to normal next year!! Our final Challenge for 2012 at The Squirrel and the Fox is Party Time! Very appropriate for this time of year, I think! The sponsor is 'Make It Crafty' (the store is closed until Jan 7th for the holiday at the moment) and the prize is an AU$15 voucher to spend in the shop! I used 'Party Zoe' for my card, which is for a Scottish friend to celebrate New Year, 'Hogmanay' in Scotland! I used my new Hero Arts Cupcake die for the base - I love it so much! Party Zoe is coloured with Speccies (list below) and I put Stickles on her blower and Liquid Pearls on the stars on her hat. Isn't she a happy little soul? I love colouring Zoe's MiC digi images, though this one took ages because I just could not  choose the right colour combo! Originally I went with pink but she d...

I was going to schedule this post, but I've been watching all the Olympics catch-up programmes tonight and I'm still up! Hooray for Mo Farah, Double Olympian, what a star he is! We have also had a visit from my son, daughter-in-law and adorable granddaughter! There was a lot of cuddling and giggling, singing and playing and reading stories. It was wonderful to have a baby in this house again! Now on to the new challenge at The Squirrel and the Fox which this time is 'The Sea'. That could be Under the Sea, On the Sea, or Beside the Sea! I've been humming 'Under the Sea' from Disney's 'Little Mermaid' for several days now - and I bet now you're all humming that catchy tune, too! Our wonderful sponsor is Make It Crafty .
