My Time to Craft #483 Bird on a nest, in a cage or in a birdhouse.

Hello there! I hope you're all looking forward to a great weekend.  Here in the UK we are celebrating the Queen's 70 years on the throne.  My church is putting on a Fun Day on Friday, so I am scheduling this post.  I hope I've got it right! The theme of our new challenge at  My Time to Craft!  is A Bird or Birds on a nest, in a cage or with a birdhouse.    I found this chipboard image in my stash and thought I'd have a go at a shabby chic card.  Not my usual style! The background is made with Nuvo Shimmer powders and has a lovely sheen.  The doily, scrap of pink card, lace and ribbon are from my stash.  The wooden word is from the poundshop and I swiped it with Vintage Photo Distress Ink to age it.  Finally I added a dazzler to the middle of the bow and a few pearls here and there. This card is the complete opposite! I used an old stamp set from Clearly Besotted and a variety of inks to stamp on a panel.  I tore a piece o...

My Time to Craft - no challenge.

I'm sad to say that My Time to Craft is having a break until August. Check out the blog for the details. Hopefully we will all be in a better place in 6 months' time.  In the meantime, here is the card I originally made for the challenge 'Black and White.' The technique is inspired by This video from the ever-inspiring Natasha Foote. She used dies but I used a stamp and heat-embossing. The image was a Simon Says Stamp/Gina K design for Stamptember a couple of years ago. I stamped and heat-embossed twice, using my Misti so it would be at the same place on the black card and the white. Then I cut up the images and pieced them together on some copy paper and finally adhered the panel to my card. I added some white pearls from my stash for an embellishment.  Thanks for looking and keep well!  love Mags B x

My Time to Craft #461 Use a Ribbon and/or a Bow.

Hi, guys! Just a quick post about the new Challenge at My Time to Craft where our theme is Use a Ribbon and/or a Bow.   I have used papers, ephemera and a die from the June kit by Love From Lizi. This is a mini slimline card, sized 6 x 3 inches.  The hexagonal sticker reads 'Let's Go Wild!' I apologise for the glare on the flamingo, I'm not a very good photographer! I hope you're all keeping well and staying safe.  I, for one, will not be abandoning my mask, handwashing and Social Distancing any time soon, in spite of the so-called 'Freedom Day' on July 19th.  If I ever gave someone Covid I would never forgive myself! Anyway, thanks for looking! love Mags B x

My Time to Craft #439 CAS

Hello, my lovelies! We have a new challenge at My Time to Craft which is Clean and Simple. I confess I didn't check the instructions carefully enough, I should have stamped my image directly onto the card front. Apologies! Don't do what I did! I used a lovely stamp set from Lawn Fawn called Simply Celebrate. The sentiment came from the same stamp set. I added Spectrum Noir sparkle pen to the candle flames, and two dots of Nuvo drops.  My teamies, who are more careful readers of instructions than I am, have made some gorgeous inspiration for you to check out on the blog!  Thanks for looking, and take care.   love Mags B x.   PS My son, who had a heart operation 2 weeks ago in London, is now back home in Shropshire. He is so much happier being at home with his wife and daughter! He's due to have more tests to monitor how he's reacting to Warfarin, but he's so very glad to be out of hospital! Thanks to all who enquired both here and on Facebook. You ar...

My Time to Craft #438 Travel

Image
Good morning! I am slowly getting to grips with New Blogger, so I hope you'll excuse any mistakes! Our new Challenge at My Time to Craft! is live, our new theme is Travel. We may not be able to travel as far as we might wish in these Coronavirus times, but at least we can craft and dream of better days! For my card I have used items from an old kit from Love from Lizi and sadly it has long since sold out, including the die of the scooter. Sorry. The DT have mades some fabulous cards for you to check out on the blog - take a look, and join the Challenge! Thanks for looking, and stay safe and well. love Mags B x PS I have no idea why my photo has been cut short on one side! Where's a teenaged child when I need them to get techy and find out what's wrong?!
