The Holly and Ivy Christmas Challenge #104 Anything Christmas Goes.

Image
Hiya! It's exciting here at the Manor, as my dayghter and grandson are over here from Ireland! My goodness, my grandson is getting tall! He's 5, but he's wearing age 6 clothes! He's grown so much since December 2019!   I'm snatching a few minutes to post about the new challenge at The Holly and Ivy Christmas Challenge . I used MFT's Quilt Square Cover-up die and inlaid the frame with paper by Nitwits. The Stitched Snowflakes by Lawn Fawn are cut from silver mirri card. The background paper is also by Nitwits - unfortunately the collection is no longer available. I'm doing quite well with my Christmas cards this year! If you haven't started yet, hop over to our challenge for some inspiration and have a go! Thanks for looking and take care! love Mags B x

Dream Valley #178 Add Ribbon/Lace

Image
Good morning from a very chilly South East Hertfordshire! I hope you all had a good weekend. We discovered that our porch is slowly coming away from the front of the house! The wonderful bloke who mended our roof earlier this year showed me that it's resting on sand and gradually toppling forward. So he's going to brace it underneath and add concrete which will hopefully do the trick. Hey ho, there's always something that needs repairing, isn't there? On to happier things - a new Challenge at Dream Valley. Our theme is Add Ribbon and/or Lace. I used both! This elegant dancer is Perfect Pointe from Sheepski Designs. So pretty! The papers, gems, lace and ribbon are all from stash. I used an MFT Die-namics Stitched Oval Scalloped Frame as a border to the image, and glammed-up her outfit with a Spectrum Noir sparkle pen. The sentiment is from the Clearly Besotted Message Me stamp set. Our sponsor is the fab Sheepski Designs Go and see my teamies...

Image
(To see my post for The Holly and Ivy Challenge, please scroll down.) Good morning! I hope you're all keeping well! At CRAFT Challenge this week we would like to see Thank you creations, with the option of making something for a teacher, since it's nearly the end of term! I made my card some time ago, and it has already been posted, so I hope I can remember the details!! The image is Just to Say Freebie from Scrappers' Delights. The papers are from stash and the corner stickers are from Paperchase. The 'Thanks' is cut with a very old MFT Die-namics die, from purple holographic card, and the 'teacher' label is handwritten. Our sponsor is Scrap N Dipity who are new to me - have a look! The prize is 3 digis from the shop! Have a look at my teamies' gorgeous creations to get an idea of Scrap N Dipity's quirky style! Thanks for looking, now I'm off to play a bit more of my new videogame: I have a Wraith to hunt so that a small ch...

CRAFT Challenge #417 Father's Day/Male

Image
Good morning! I hope you are all keeping well. Our new CRAFT Challenge is to make something for Father's Day or for the blokes in our lives! I used The Dragon and the Knight for my Father's Day card, it's such a cute image! I used a Woodware corner punch to decorate the corners. The background paper is from an old magazine freebie. The DAD die-cuts are made with an old Die-namics alphabet die. The silver card I wanted to use was too bright, so I covered a scrap of card with several layers of silver embossing powder and used that instead. Our sponsor this week is: Doctor Digi's House of Stamps and our Sponsor for Star of the Month is: Star Stampz Now I'm off to do a huge tidy up, as both the grandchildren are coming to visit and I must move stuff out of the reach of little hands! Wish me luck, I'm going in! Thanks for looking, and have a fun weekend! love Mags B x

My Time to Craft DT Challenge #338 Feathers.

Image
Evening, all! It's time for new challenge at My Time to Craft and we have an unusual and lovely theme - Feathers. So you can use feathers on your creation, or birds - or both if you so desire! I received some feathers in a gorgeous Crafteezee kit from Noor! Design UK . Each monthly kit has a different theme, the feathers came with an Art Deco set, so I decided to make a couple of Art Deco-type cards. Yes, TWO cards! I made them both at the same time. I cut gold and black card with a MFT Die-namics Chunky Chevrons cover-up Die and glued the frames onto my card bases. Then I inlaid the black chevrons into the gold frame, and vice-versa. The sentiment is from an ancient wood-mounted die, and I used a stamp-a-majig to make sure it was straight on a scrap of black card, then embossed in gold. I cut back the front of the card and glued the sentiments on the back. Then I added the feathers, and also two fabulous ornaments , also from the Noor! Shop. I'm so pleased w...
