Hello!

Good evening, all! Is it really 10 days since my last post?! *brushes away cobwebs* Apologies, my loves, the days seem to be evaporating, I can't believe we're halfway through September!!! I made a card! This was for a lovely new friend from Church who has just joined us as a volunteer helper at the Toddler Club that we run three times a week. I wanted a fun image and found this lovely Penny Black stamp in my stash. It's called Bun Bun and it's so cute! The layout is from last week's Sketch Saturday, which obviously I've missed! The papers are from a Craftwork Cards stash which came free ages ago with a magazine, and the striped ribbon is from Hobbycraft. I can't remember the pens I used to colour the image. Sorry! I also can't remember which stamp set I used for the sentiment and flower - I think it was by Stampendous. If anyone wants to know the details (I am downstairs watching 'Star Trek: The Next Generation' and the stamps are upstai...

LotV wedding card meets SSW

Hi, guys! Sorry I haven't been around a lot lately, I am having a Grand Tidy Up of the WHOLE HOUSE and it's taking forever! Honestly, the amount of JUNK one collects over 25 years is astonishing! Thank goodness I can listen to my iPod and dance around! However, I've made time to make this card for my daughter's friend who's getting married next month. Her colour scheme is green, so I used papers from the DCWV 'Mariposa' stack, which are lovely! The image is LotV, of course, coloured with Promarkers, and I stickled parts of her dress, and also around the edge of the image. I used a Martha Stewart Hearts punch as a background for the green ribbon (from Hobbycrafts). The flowers are Wild Orchid, mostly, and the leaves were cut with a Magnolia die. Here's the inside, the wheel-shapes were cut with a MS Deep edger punch - an idea I got from a card by Bev Rochester on the Lili of the Valley 'Inspiration' section. I could spend hours browsing all the ...

PBSC and Oldie but a Goodie and Sunday Sketch and Stamp

Image
Here's a birthday card for a friend of my daughter! The dancing girl is Penny Black. She's one of the first stamps I bought, must be 3 years ago now, when I was just starting. The Penny Black Saturday Challenge this week is for zig-zags. Can you see the zig-zag pattern on the girlie's top and trousers? Cute, eh? The bp, which is only just visible, is also zig-zaggy, and came from an old mag, and of course I've also used the MS zig zag punch on the blue card (from stash). I think that's enough zig-zags! I'm also entering this into the Oldie But A Goodie challenge, which wants butterflies. I love the MS butterfly punch! I've stamped them from the pink matting card, ang stickled all over, then curled up the wings for dimension. You can just see the small Retro flowers that they're sitting on. The great sketch is Sunday Sketch and Stamp which I am just in time for! The one new item I used is the nestie, isn't it pretty? I distressed the edges with Spu...

Cute card for Louise

Image
As I'm sure you can tell from the sudden glut of cards, I have been ignoring the housework, huzza! This one is a bit special, because my daughter's friend Louise has a new job and is finding it a steep learning curve. The sketch is a nice one from Anyone for Anya? though I didn't make the blue middle layer quite big enough! Louise loves cute, and pink, and flowers, so I had fun with all the elements! I'm also going to enter it for Cute Card Thursday whose theme is 'Text.' Well, the hugs message (it's a Penny Black clear stamp) is small but important, meant to cheer Louise up! The Anya stamp is 'Summer' from The Greeting Farm's 'Roll Call' set which I got from Quixotic Paperie I love how she's giggling with her hand in front of her mouth - so cute! I distressed and stickled the edges. The gorgeous paper is Papermania's 'Honey and Hugs'. Oh, by the way, the PB Mouse and Stocking stamp I used the other day is 'Xmas Mou...
